Score from 47 reviews Good
No water in pool. Noise from animals on roof during night. No sunlight at terrasse and window.
For the price, it's a great deal. It's close to everything.
It could have been cleaner.
The staff were pleasant and helped move a fridge to our room upon arrival. The pool was refreshing. The area was quiet. The garden was lovely...like a little oasis in the city. It was handy to the grocery store and oxxo store. GREAT shower! The bed was clean and comfortable. For the price we were comfortable, felt welcome and safe. We would stay there again and would recommend it.
We were not upset by any negatives but will mention a few things for feedback:The door lock was broken and could not lock it from the inside. The room could have used more hooks or towel rails to dry towels and /or beach clothes. The room was clean but had a slight scent from either the humidity or the cleaning products. (a scented candle or essencial oil would have covered it nicely). The bedside lamp did not work.
The location was great and good value for money. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms were spacious, comfortable and clean.
Wi Fi was very slow and dropped out a lot. Other then that not much to complain about.
Close enough to 5th ave. staff very nice. Good value for accommodation. Basic! Gardens just need a little more care.
Pool needed to be cleaned. Noisy at late night due to clubs blocks away. Still hear the beat of music.
very small rooms, humidity in the rooms, shared small terrasse, pool is not a pool where you can swim, breakfeast is in another hotel 200m away
good position, still in the "real" Mexico but close to beach and bars large comfortable bed, pleasant large room
no breakfast available, but not really a problem since lots of places to eat nearby
The staff was very friendly. Nice room and beautiful garden.
Wi-Fi sometimes drop connection.
Honestly, there wasn't much to like other than the location, but with plenty of hotel options surrounding this hotel, this was hardly a bonus.
Where to begin? First, the room we ordered online was not the one we were given upon arrival. There was no DOOR to our room, just a sliding door with a faulty 'lock' that looked like it could be unlocked with a Philips screwdriver. This, and the sheets were stained, the room was unclean and the towels were discolored and the shower barely worked. When we complained to the front desk, rather than trying to offer to improve the conditions by making it better or switching to another room, they got abrasive and very defensive, stating that everything was 'fine'. We were two women traveling together, and did not feel 'fine' staying in a room that could easily be broken into, while we were sleeping or while away - we could never fully relax as we didn't trust our belongings would be safe in the room. After the management was unresponsive to our concerns, we called Booking.com who basically only acted as a messenger for the hotel, assuring that they had given us the best room (HA!) and that it was 'perfectly safe'. We were free to leave but would be subjected to a 'penalty fee' of the entire cost of an evening's stay - which basically added to the same amount we *pre-paid* online. The whole thing was a farce. If you want to enjoy your vacation ****STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL**** It is overpriced for what it is, there are plenty of other options that offer safer and cleaner surroundings. Only a handful of their rooms have proper doors on them. Also, it was incredibly noisy. I slept fine, but my roommate was a light sleeper so she suffered from never sleeping well in our stay there (our window/sliding door was next to a clangy metal stair case that echoed anytime anyone lightly went up/down the stairs). Just terrible!!! Honestly, the *worst* hotel vacation experience I've ever had, and I've traveled everywhere (all over Latin America, S. Asia and Africa).
Really? not much. See below observations.
Hopeless wifi in the room although I expressly mentioned I needed a smooth connection. Poor cleanliness of the facilities, very humid, hopeless and dirty "swimming pool" (this should definitely not be mentioned). Extremely poor value for money compared to what I have seen in other hotels in the same street, extremely rigid people (I stayed 12 nights and spend more than 2000USD and I was obliged to really fight to enjoy a "late" check-out, in fact at 2pm instead of 12). I would certainly not recommend this place and will in no way go back there. I don't understand why in Playa del Carmen there are not more nicest and better value for money hotels selected on booking.com (there are so so so so many other places, compared to the choice which was given on this very touristic spot). The only good point was the very central location…. By the way, there was NO heating in the room, no telephone and a hopeless TV which was barely working properly… NEVER AGAIN
Location, staff, shower, all was well. One block from Coco Bongo and close to the beach.
The room was quite humid and the price in high season equaled a 5 star anywhere else in Latin America or even Cancun. However, that's Playa in high season. Overall we were happy!
Terasse mit Hängematte
Sauberkeit hat von Tag zu Tag nachgelassen
The stuff is great, room is big and clean, nothing special, but near the ocean you won't to spend a lot of time in the hotel room, so it's a good choice
maybe a little bit expensive but i was spoilted by cheap prices for practically whole territory of Mexico, so 50$ against the 15-20 in other cities) but it's only my opinion))) and i travel alone so it's very often that I had to pay double price
