Score from 15 reviews Wonderful
The architecture was pretty, the staff was very helpful, and everything exceeded my expectations. The complimentary breakfast in the morning was good, and my room had a cute little balcony.
Since it is located right near the beach and the main tourist strip, there was noise and revelry outside until late. Bring earplugs if you want to sleep early.
Lovely helpful staff, very cool breakfast chef. Perfect location close to shops and bars if you're a party animal. Cosy bed, good size of the room, veeeeeery efficient AC (though a bit noisy), nice balcony facing the swimming-pool (room no 1), cute garden.
More hooks would be useful in the bathroom. Fridge a bit noisy. Also, noisy surroundings -- but hey, this is not the hotel's fault and this is the price to pay when you want to be in the heart of action! Wear earplugs and you'll be just fine.
Great location near beach at 5th Ave.Room was clean and comfortable. AC was cold and QUIET! Staff super friendly and breakfast was just right with made to order eggs..
The location and good value for money.
The Wi-Fi was not working most of the time. The rooms are small.
Staff is great, location is excellent!!
Noise from the surrounding bars. Although everything stops at 2 am so if you go back to the hotel there is no problem to sleep.
I had a great time at Playalingua del Caribe. Its location is excellent next to 5th avenue and only a few minutes away from the beach. The included breakfast was really good and the staff, even if not fluent in English, always tried to help and to make the stay perfect. The rooms are clean and comfortable. It's ideal for budget travellers and I definitely would come back to Playalingua if I come to Playa del Carmen again
Position, fresh fruit for breakfast, garden with amaca and piscina, every day make a new bed.
Bathroom not confortable and clean. AnD so small for Seat and close The door. Room with View in The corridor, always without light and where people passage.
The cleanliness, the friendliness of the staff, the way you had a fresh towel and bed made everyday, the little quaint balcony and the breakfast made it good value for money.
The fatal hotel next door!
Good for the price.
The breakfast cocinero Juan is rude and treats customers very badly. It's too bad that the management allows this type of behavior. We would not come back to this hotel.
Сourtyard garden, unusual design, perfect location, nice staff.
Great staff. I arrived at 9am and they found me a room straight away despite that the normal check-in time is 3pm. The room had a fridge which is a great advantage in this climate. I would highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay there again.
Rude staff who basically just said "yes whatever" to whatever was asked.
Great location, lovely staff. This hostel is also a language school so they do encourage you to try speaking Spanish to them, a brilliant idea, beautiful place!
Very small rooms
Not being clean.
Close to 5th Avenue with shops and restaurants.
Next door to a very loud disco that blasts from 9:00 pm until 2:00 am. Worst bed I've ever had--springs poking me all night. No staff around on weekends. Costs as much as a better location and facility. Cold, limited breakfast.
Manager took me to the room and carefully explained air cond etc. Wonderful tall ceilings. Close to everything in town
Older interior decorating, mattress could be better
- fresh fruits at breakfast - working safe could be used (even without deposit) - balcony !
For people preferring to sleep with the window left open and having it quiet, this hotel is not suitable (at least my room was not) due to the close proximity to the "5th Av.". - no hot water served at breakfast (to prepare tea)
Excellent location to 5th street where all shops good and entertainment are located. 3 blocks to beach
Not on beach
Super close to Center of 5th ave. Close to the Beach. You get what you Pay for accommodation wise. Air conditioning was good. Safe spot to stay. Breakfast was toast, cereal, fruit, and yogurt. I would love to have joined the morning classes to learn Spanish! I would stay again
Tiny tiny room. No Television. Mattress was lop sided. Showers sucked!! You get what u pay for, and it was very inexpensive to stay!
Good location and breakfast
Staff were friendly, place was clean, breakfast was good.
Room was a little bigger than a closet, internet not working for most of my 4 days there, overpriced for Mexico.
The hotel is just off 5th Avenue so it is really quick to get to shops and restaurants and the beach. My room was small but right next to the shared bathroom and well arranged so that it didn´t feel crowded. It was quite which meant it was easy to sleep. It had a really cosy duvet type cover too. There was a small balcony which was nice for drying things and getting air. There was a safety deposit box in the room. The wifi worked in my room. My room was nice and warm in the evening but the fan kept it cool during the day. The breakfast was self service but the food was good and you could help yourself to plenty. I thought it was great value for Playa del Carmen. I really enjoyed my stay.
The balcony door was on it´s last legs and was difficult to close. The wifi dropped out a couple of times which was a pain. The office is only open between 8 and 7 and there was only one guy at the weekend who was more of a guard so not great for information etc.
Perfect location, very nice staff, good wifi, very good value for the money.
small room. breakfast was a bit simple.
Comfortable room, great location, good breakfast!
I was charged prior to my trip and charge upon arrival! It is bit of a noisy spot at night as well.
