Hotel is on Hidalgo, the main street for bars and restaurants. No car traffic allowed. within easy walk to Playa Norte. I had room across the courtyard, away from the street noise, but be aware that the one bar that stays open till 4 am is right across the street from the hotel.
for the value and close proximity to the beach and nightlife, I have nothing to negative to say. I would stay again at the Plaza
The room was very clean, located in the center
.there is no wifi in the rooms
Location is the best! Right in the middle of the Main Street and just 5 minutes walk from playa Norte. Very nice pool Clean Ask for a inside room by the pool! Those are the best
Our upper floor room overlooking the pool was great. Nice view of the garden and pool and very little street noise. The location is great and the staff very friendly and helpful.
The hotel is on a very busy pedestrian street. If you are a light sleeper, the street side of the hotel is definitely not for you. Music and noise until late.
Cool oasis in the most active area
The location was unbeatable, right on the busy main street, but the rooms were quiet and clean - we asked for a pool facing room as recommended by other reviews. The staff were very nice and helpful.
The fridge didn't seem to work and the safe didn't seem to be in working condition. But those minor things didn't really affect us. The next time we go we'll probably request a ground floor unit facing the pool - seemed more convenient and direct access to the pool.
Lovely oasis in the middle of the busy-ness on the main street of Isla Mujeres. Five minute walk to the beaches and everything is close. The garden-side rooms are great though and it's nice to be right be the pool on the bottom level. You may be surprised by how expensive the restaurants are along the main street, but if you are savvy and look around, there are some excellent places to eat that are cheaper (look for "Comida Economica" signs and also the luncherias that are directly behind the hotel on the adjacent street). Wifi was pretty good most of the time, and the rooms were kept very clean! Also, nice community atmosphere with all of the people staying in the rooms on the garden level. Had a lovely time there!
Be warned that if you book through booking.com, you aren't going to necessarily get the room you book, and apparently the hotel can't do anything about this. We had reserved a room facing the garden because we had heard it was noisy on the street-facing side and all those rooms were full when we arrived. We had to sleep the first night on the noisy side and it was horrible! I am a light sleeper but I felt like I was in a club all night. The hotel manager told us the music would end at 11:30/12 but it was after 4:00 by the time things quietened down.
The price was as for 3 stars hotel , It is not equall 3 stars hotel I wouldn't give it more then 2 stars I think it's too expensive for what you get The room very simple
Hotel is ideally located for a trip to the island. Walk to the beach during the day and just step outside hotel entrance in the evening to enjoy all the restaurants and nightlife!
Beds and linens need upgrading.
big and clean room on the 2nd floor, good pool in a nice garden, location right in the middle of the pueblo, lots of restaurants in the area, 3min walk to the beach, efficient air conditioning and fridge
they failed to repair our TV during 3 days, wifi did not work for majority of our stay, we had our window towards the main street which is getting quite loud in the night, overpriced
Close to everything friendly helpful staff.
Bed were pretty hard.
close to the beach and restaurants, it's right on the main street spacious room huge bed
noise at night from clubs across the road. rooms are out dated decor-wise (only a problem because of the price)
Great location, clean, well furnished rooms.
At 65 y.o. It was probably evident when I checked in for my 5 day stay that I wasn't on spring break. I asked for a room in the courtyard after hearing about "some noise" on the street. After being told one was "not available" I resigned myself to a room overlooking Hidalgo. My first clue should have been when I turned on the ceiling fan and was greeted with a screeching noise so alarming I called the front desk to come check it out. Paulo "resolved" the issue by turning off the fan and giving me the Mexican promise, "we'll fix it tomorrow". So, I settled down on the balcony to watch Hidalgo St. below me come to life in the early evening hours. What was initially entertaining by 11pm was annoying and the noise at 2am was intolerable! At 7am, sleep deprived and a little grumpy Paulo ascertained that my Visa card and I were leaving. Suddenly, an interior room, as I had requested, became available. The alleged guests had "checked out in the middle of the night" Once relocated inside, the hotel was as nice and quiet as others have mentioned. SO, unless so are on spring break, not planning to sleep till 4am, DO NOT stay in a room overlooking the street.
All was great. I think you should advise potential guests that there is parking 200 meters away, this made our stay better using our own car.
Should have coffee filters in the room, they did have them at the desk. we found out to late.
Central location, near mini-mart, great food, quiet inner courtyard, nice size pool, wi-fi, close; two blocks to beautiful beach.
It was just fine, no complaints. It's not fancy but excellent for the price.
Clean rooms, wifi in room (spotty), proximity to beach and restaurants.
No housekeeping until late afternoon/evening and then only after MANY requests! After a day on the beach is it too much to ask for a made up room? No excuses. Rooms facing the street meant no sleep until 3 am. Unwelcoming vibe and a stetile institutional feeling. No water or ice provided. Never again.
Handy to downtown. Room facing courtyard - very quiet - even with live entertainment across the street
Mattress hard Shortage of facecloths
Hôtel très bien situé si vous aimez être dans le feu de l'action ( rue principale de Isla Mujeres ) avec bars, restos et très près de la plus The location is perfect if you like to be near the beach and where the action is ! If your room is located Inside the court where the pool is, it is surprisingly quiet even with all the action on the outside ! music, bars, vendors, resaurants. We liked the pool and the AC, important criterias for us. We liked Anna at the reception desk the nicest employee and also Nelda the housekeeper.
We asked to change room as our first room was on the street side where all the bars and restos and boutiques are. No way you will use your balcony it is too Noisy. But Anna gave us a room by the pool ( Inside) which is much better to us, more quiet and it is nice to have your coffe on your balcony in the morning ! But the bed was terribly hard, we did not like it at all even though they put a small foam over the mattress for us it was still bad. The fact this hotel is right on the main street as a downside: you have to walk everyday on this street full of tourists, vendors, some people may like this, but it's not for us. Isla Mujeres is too touristic now, it's too bad.
location pool area fridge in room
raw sewage smell - no venting for plumbing lack of help with lugging suitcases up/down the staircase
3-5 min walk to three different beaches and it's in the middle of the main street where all restaurants and bars is. The yard is really cozy and the pool fills it,a function to cool you down I you don,t want to go to the beach. No bar but supermarket where you can buy drinks is 5 m outside hotel.
Nothing for the price you pay.
Our favorite rooms are on the ground floor facing the pool...we enjoy the short walk to the beach. And in the evenings it is so handy to have bars, restaraunts right outside the door!
There should be more lounge chairs to recline in, poolside!
The pool and access to restaurants; wifi
No breakfast provided; our room had no balcony
Location and how quiet it was being on a busy street
The location was great - an easy walk from the ferry and in the middle of everything without being noisy.
wifi a bit erratic
Clean beach towels every day Hot water Comfortable bed Convenient location Quiet pool courtyard Friendly staff
Very few kitchen dishes and tools (i.e. can opener, knife that actually cuts, dish towels) No wi fi signal in our room.
