A big city to explore the multiple beautiful towns near by.
A big city to explore the multiple beautiful towns near by. Most of the attractions here are in the historic center while most of the dining and entertainment is located in the Chapultepec neighborhood. Again Guadalajara is an excellent base for day trips the towns of Tequila, Ajijic, and the Chapala lake and of course Tlaquepaque.

Easy to get around. Interesting history.
Easy to get around. Interesting history. Lots of nearby towns and places to visit. I enjoyed a walking tour of the city, a day trip to Guachimontones (very interesting and unique ruins with circular pyramids) and a day of tequila tasting and tour of the Jose Cuervo Distillery in the city of Tequila.

This is my second visit to Guadalajara.
This is my second visit to Guadalajara. We stayed for 3 nights in Guadalajara. One in Central Guadalajara and 2 in Tlaquepaque.
The first night we went to Bruna Restaurant (modern Mexican) great food recommend. We then shopped in Andares mall. The next 2 nights were in Tlaquepaque, great place to wander around and see artisan, local products. We also drove to Tonala as I was looking especially for Mexican tile, Tonala cheaper than Tlaquepaque. But Tlaquepaque more picturesque and walkable.

Guadalajara is undeniably an intriguing city.
Guadalajara is undeniably an intriguing city. It boasts stunning historical landmarks, but also exhibits a significant number of deteriorated buildings. The culinary scene is exceptional, with a plethora of delightful restaurants to explore. There's no shortage of attractions, making it a unique destination worthy of at least a two-day visit.

The stunning architecture and walkable area with fountains, restaurants, shops, activities like karaoke, accessible churches, pleasant weather, and of course the very friendly, polite Mexican people. Saw a few people sleeping on street but much fewer than I see in Portland, Oregon. I’m glad I got to visit. The surrounding countryside with mountains and agave fields also lovely.

My sister's necklace was stolen,
My sister's necklace was stolen,
On a tour downtown walking around the square someone came up behind her and stole her necklace off her neck, it was obviously some group that probably does this regularly. One guy came from behind ran and jumped on a motorcycle waiting for him.
Warning don't wear any good jewelry!
I've stayed a few times for one-night stopovers. Heading somewhere in Mexico. I find it best to reserve a week in advance. They have two quick taco puestos/restaurants three minutes walk. And a half dozen more restaurants a 15 to 20 min walk. The area is a famous Guadalajara landmark - called the nine-corners and is fabulous for foodies.
The Hangar Inn is less than 2 km from Guadalajara airport. We had a late flight into Guadalajara and a connecting flight the following day. So this hotel was perfect for this purpose. The hotel has a continuous shuttle service from and to the airport that can be ordered without additional costs. The room was very nice, clean and quiet.
I stayed in the female dorm which was spacious and had a balcony. Only one bed didn’t have a plug socket by it. Free lockers and towel. Nice breakfast of coffee, juice, bread and fruit. Free water. Quiet, respectful hostel really handily located for the Centro Historico. Secure entry. Trips and tours on offer, and great staff.
Beautiful traditional old building in the heart of Guadalajara, easy walking distance to everything yet in a quiet location. Our room was lovely especially with the private terrace space. Elvia at the hotel is so friendly and so helpful, we felt that she really wanted us to enjoy our stay and worked hard to ensure it.
Hotel Frances in Guadalajara is a venerable institution that speaks volumes through its age-old walls, offering a stay that is steeped in history and charm. Each corridor and room tells a story, echoing the rich tapestry of Guadalajara's past, making guests feel as though they are a part of the city's grand narrative
It was a VERY HOT weekend in Guadalajara and our Airbnb did not have AC. So we decided to spend our last night in town at the most gringo hotel we could find. It was exactly what we needed. Cold AC, cold beer, Mexican wine and they were able to schedule a nice cab to take us to the airport at 4:30 in the morning.
Great location great price free secure underground parking. We return to this hotel every visit to Guadalajara. We recommend it to friends. The staff are friendly and helpful. Apart from no fridge in the rooms it’s perfect.
I travel to Guadalajara once or twice a month definitely this is a very hotel that I received not recommended they treat you like piece of crap does the wars hotel that I ever stayed in my whole life don't ever stay there
The hotel is strategically located dowtown (centro) at the jonction of the 3 subway lines.
Best Quality/Price for this category.
The breakfast is good and plentiful.
There's a safe inside the room for your valuables.
Creo que es un buen hotel y si regresara a Guadalajara, me volveria a hospedar en el. Great hotel and I would stay in this same hotel if I returned back to Guadalajara.
This is my first pick of hotel to stay in Guadalajara for the past 10 years at least! Spotless rooms, walking distance to everything, and great front desk staff.
