Great location in the old town which is a must if staying in Puerto Vallarta. Staff were great. Rooms were clean. Positive experience.
Everything was wonderful, the staff gave me a map and suggested great places to see. The room was clean and very nice.
No hot water in my room, it was warm enough but not ever hot
pasquale, juan and the rest of staff were delitefully helpful through my "accidental" tourist trip here. Rooms were clean and cool and they directed me where I needed to go. Rooftop pool, while small was nice to take quick dip in while catching a few rays after the lovely breakfast every morning.
All is IK, great location, good breakfast
Serious problems with Wi Fi (not connections sometimes and somewhere)
The hotel was clean, the rooms were large and the beds were amazing. The bathroom was modern and clean, shower really good. The quality of the breakfast was good. The location was just perfect, small street one block from the malecon (centre, boulevard).
The swimming pool was just a bath tub on top of the roof, really small, we didn't use it. The choice with the breakfast was not that great, just eggs, rice and chilaquiles. Noisy airco's just outside the room, for some people this can be a problem.
Location was great. The facilities were clean and the WIFI connection was good.
We were given a room facing an ugly patio. The bathroom released a strong odor and we asked to be moved to a different room. They were accommodating and they did change us to much nicer room. As we keep using Booking.com for our travels, it seems to us that the "good deals" found in Booking.com come with a price. Often times we are given the worst rooms in the hotel and this was the case in Porto Allegro.
friendliness of staff, cleanliness of rooms, great ac, breakfast was good
no big deal, slow elevator
Everything about it was awesome and we were surprised that it was so well put together and the staff so accommodating.
The staff make you feel at home as soon as you arrive. Any problem or question we had they went above and beyond to help. We booked attractions there and they always tried to match the lowest price. I went with my girlfriend and she was skeptical about the area but in the end she said she felt totally safe and would stay there the next time around. If you are looking for a hotel just to sleep, shower, have a good free breakfast while experiencing great customer service.. I highly reccommend Porto Alegre!
No complaints here!
VERY nice staff--EXCEPT--front dest person at ck in---CEAN---gerat location
Desk ck in person---COFFEE--VERY BAD----the package with only limited supplies--and very bad old tasting coffee---not good early in am-no strio cups---
Front desk staff was attentive and helpful, very good English skills. Location was excellent. I could walk everywhere of interest, only used taxi to get to airport. Daily complementary breakfast was combination American and Mexican, delightful. Room was spotlessly cleaned daily. Great value!
Not a complaint but I like my breakfast earlier than 8AM. However sun doesn't rise until 0730 so easy to sleep in.
Close to board walk, quiet, clean, good value and a great feel breakfast.
It was very hot and I would have liked the air conditioner to have worked better.
Good location, English speaking staff
Noisy air condition
Great staff, they helped us get places with taxis and also set up a tour for us. The room was spacious and bed was very comfy. I would def go here again!!:)
The staff were friendly and helpful. They were very supportive in all respects/ The room was great and very clean. I loved this hotel.
The coffee was not to my taste/
The staff was great. The room was large, comfortable, and cleaned daily. We loved the hot breakfast every morning. The location was AMAZING!! The center of the romantic zone - 2 blocks from the old cathedral. We also stayed at the Marina (a friend's wedding was there) and we definitely preferred the authenticity of Porto Alegre. Will recommend it to friends and family and would stay there again.
It IS noisy... but that's because you're staying in the CENTER of a noisy city. Bring ear plugs and a good attitude and you'll be fine!
For the price it was fine.
We were not impressed. Our first room the AC unit didn't work, the pool area was a joke. The pool was actually an over sized jetted bathtub. I believe there was maybe 6 chairs on the deck. There wasn't an Ice machine, the amenities were minimal, there wasn't a bar. And they only served Pepsi products...
Quiet, extremely clean, friendly staff, made to order breakfast was great. Location was perfect for us - small quiet hotel, interesting area and still close to the action. It was extremely hot and humid during our stay and we enjoyed cooling off in the pool.
The only improvements would be reading lights on the bedside tables and addition of a mini fridge
The hotel was clean and the rooms were comfortable. The staff was accommodating and helpful. It is located near the boardwalk and the river and shopping so there was plenty to do. The rooftop pool is small but the water is cool and the view is great.
The air conditioner didn't work properly in one room but they were quick to switch rooms for us.
Great central downtown location, close to bus routes and the malecon.
Not much to dislike, but a mini fridge in the room would have been nice.
Hotel Porto Alegre situated ideally for walking around old Puerto Vallarta. Close to bus service to beautiful public beaches. Rooms were large, clean, and comfortable. Lovely rooftop seating area overlooking the older, historic part of town. Near the always bustling promenade along the Pacific ocean with wonderful sunsets. Within walking distance of very good restaurants. Made to order breakfast each morning. Friendly, helpful staff. Our special thanks to Juan Jesus and Victor.
Everything was perfect!!!!
The pool is to little.
Great location and value for money.
No fridge in my room and it was close to the lobby so lots of noise.
Very nice location in downtown area, short walk to the beach area. Upstairs dinning area had nice view of the city rooftops and ocean.
Bathroom rather compact, but still useable and maintained very well.
1. Hotel location (close to river, cathedral, River Cafe, French Restaurant, Bank with ATM on corner a block away 2 Style of Hotel, lots of marble, very clean 3. Flat panel TV 4. Exercise equipment room 5 Breakfast room (and nice breakfast) at top floor 6 Friendly reception and maid service
1. Worst Wi Fi connection of ANY hotel I have ever stayed in in my life . (no better than "dial-up" of the 80's) Even the lobby computers are super slow. IF THAT IS IMPORTANT TO YOU don't stay there. We Checked out after 3 days and move up to a Suites Hotel (with a much bigger roof top pool) in Bucerias, our favorite little town without highrise hotels on the beach) AND LIGHTENING FAST WiFi 2. Daily garbage truck pickup on street below will be you WAKE UP CALL at 6 am 3. No standing lights on either side table.. WHY NOT, as there are outlets behind those tables ? 4. Elevator takes about 5 minutes to arrive and then travel just 4 floors up to the breakfast room and "bathtub".
