Score from 30 reviews Very good
The location is amazing - lots of restaurants and a few little shops & tour guides within walking distance, but still RIGHT on the beach. The beach is beautifully maintained. Our room was huge and clean. Breakfast on the terrace watching the waves roll in is lovely.
Although everyone was VERY nice, service from the front desk staff is hit-or-miss (our key was missing when we arrived, questions were sometimes met with a shrug or "I don't know" instead of an offer to find out). While the rooms are huge, they aren't in perfect condition (some loose screens, small things like that) and we saw lots of signs for cheaper places on the beach, although I can't speak to the quality of the rooms.
- Location directly at the beach - Friendly managing staff - Nice beach huts
- Not cheap (but Tulum became expensive overall) - Breakfast rather small
Increadibly helpful staff, amazing lication right at the beach, great breakfast, very cozy and comfy ocean front bungalov.
Nothing. Everythibg was amazing!!
I loved the breakfast being delivered every morning on our personal verandah. The staff were very helpful with tips on visiting local places and with seeing the ruins and surrounding towns.
We thought the location was the best. The beach was the cleanest, prettiest, and had less people. Margarita restaurant is next door which is one of the best in tulum for food and cocktails. The service is excellent, friendly. The rooms were really nice. Great breakfast every morning. Their beach hang out area was the best, enough shaded areas with beds and hammocks. Housekeeping was on point.
Everything. It was the most beautiful place I have ever been. Intimate, friendly, relaxing and wonderful
everythings, the bungalow on the beach, directly on the sea side, the beach is beautifull, large, not crowdy, only people of the hotel, the room is good, good bed, good shower, 1 terrace, another terrace upstairs with a beautifull view too, hotel people very welcome and friendly, breakfast good with eggs as extra, good weather, sea temperature very hot, with beautiful green and blue colors, a fan as AC but it is enough, you have the air from the caribbean sea... the nature, the quiet place, the environment protection, the turtles the night just close to the hotel on the beach, turtles eggs season... the paradise...
nothings, really nothing,
Beautiful cabin, right on the beach, breakfast was excellent and it was brought to our balcony at a time of our choice. We were upgraded which was really nice - even closer to the water.
The only thing I could possibly mention is that I was sent an email a few days before my stay from Booking.com saying 'room upgrades now available' - for an extra $196 (I didn't see the email until we arrived as I was in internet-free Cuba before Mexico). We were upgraded anyway because the cabin we booked was taken by a family so they needed the larger cabin. So I'm not sure if it was Posada Lamar trying to get extra $$ when they knew they had to change the room anyway, or Booking.com who made that suggestion to see if we would pay - a bit of a scam, since we would have had to get the different room anyway.
The staff is wonderful. The rooms are very clean. Breakfasts are fresh and delivered each morning. Tulum has been discovered and many of the hotels have lost the simple, relaxing feeling that makes Tulum special. Posada Lamar still has that feeling -- and the staff made us feel so welcome. Highly recommend -- this place is a treasure.
This place is not for everyone, but if you don't mind rustic and self sufficiency it's great. We loved it, the location is perfect and the staff were amazingly accommodating. We would definitely go back.
No restaurant onsite, but many places within walking distance on the beach. No AC, and no electricity between 6 AM and 6 PM.
LOVED Carlos and Adriana - they handle everything - they were both GREAT, helpful, attentive to my needs, and went out of their way to make my stay as comfortable as possible. They also helped me set up local guides to take me to the attractions I wanted to visit - which was really helpful and let me avoid the crowded tours you otherwise have to use. Thanks Adriana and Carlos, you made up for any problems that arose.
I didn't like that Booking.com did not represent the room I had acurately, and I didn't find that out till I got to the location and couldn't do anything about it then. There were some water problems at the hotel, but they worked them out as quickly as they could. I didn't like only having electricity from 6pm - 6am, it was a little inconvenient.
very friendly and helpful staff spacious rooms great on-balcony breakfast service not too expensive (for the area) fantastic beach with nice shady areas to escape the sun
there was construction going on on each side of the property all day- not really the hotel's fault, but it made the room very noisy. also, faulty screens let a lot of bugs in, but that's what happens in the jungle;)
Fantastic location, extremely peaceful and relaxed. Back to nature feeling. Enjoyed every minute. Will be back.
Beautiful beach just steps away from our cabana. Friendly staff who were always very helpful in answering all of our questions. No restaurant at the hotel although we loved the one next door to the left.
The breakfast was a little repeatative but still nice to have it brought to your cabana each morning. Mosquitoes were quite bad, maybe some repellent available in each room, particularly for when sitting outside at night.
- extremely friendly and helpful staff - very family friendly
The beautiful, white sandy beach at my doorstep. The breakfast was good, on time and nutrious, the ssstaff was excellent.
The chairs on our front porch were broken,
locatin and breakfast were amazing
pressure of the water in the room was a bit low; electricity during teh day was unavailable in the room (but really a minor glitch)
Nice location 10m from the sea, clean and friendly staff
Watch out as there is no electricity during the day and there is only one power plug in the room but the staff will charge your devices at reception during the day. More sun chairs are needed if it's full and everyone goes basks in the sun from 7am till sunset (or "reserve" their seat by dropping the towels on then and show 6hrs later)
We really liked the staff--friendly and helpful, especially Carlos. We also loved the location and the beach, and the overall ambience.
Since we booked over Christmas, we paid rates that were quite high...
The location is amazing! But the staff really made the experience, nothing was too difficult. My friend and I weren't well and he made is tea from the flowers! Absolutely incredible place to stay would recommend it to anyone!
Service was excellent. The staff was great - very friendly. The setting is very beautiful. The room is rustic but quaint. Great place to spend a holiday on one of the most beautiful beaches in the world.
Great location on the beach, super friendly and helpful staff, big room.
Rooms were extremely damp and musty smelling. They were not sealed properly (e.g. large gaps between frame and windows), so we were eaten alive by mosquitos despite lathering ourselves with repellant and using the nets over the bed. I was bitten probably the worst I have ever been bitten, but it was not a patch on my girlfriend - she was completely anhiallated - the worst I have ever seen anyone bitten by quite some margin! Not ideal for a beach holiday. Electricity only runs at certain times of the day, so it felt a bit like being back at school. Wifi was patchy at best.
Amazing location. Very secluded and peaceful.
The location on the beach. The decoration of the room. We did not use it, but there is a small communal kitchen available.
They bring you the (light) breakfast at your terace in the morning, which is nice, but you have to decide the previous day at what time it will be delivered (till 9.30 am. No eggs included). No real separation of the toilet from the rest of the building. It is ecological: no electricity during the day (and not enough plugs in the room). Hot water limited. We were biten - by bugs in the bed? - during the night. No restaurant but you get a voucher for discount in nearby places.
I Love everything about Posada :amar it was frothin! The look the feel the vibe the staff where the best especially a guy named Carlos! the most honest, kind, friendly, loving and most servant person i've ever met! YEW!
My wife didn't like that there was no water pressure in shower and no air con she got smashed by mozzies.
