Don Santiago Garin and his wife have made Quinta Los Arrayanes into a unique place to stay. The 2 rooms that we saw had been their sons and daughters rooms growing up, and have been converted into very comfortable and roomy guest quarters. They are adjacent to the main house, the kitchen of which is the source of one of the best breakfasts you will find. Marta presented us with classic Mexican breakfast each of the four mornings we were there- eggs, potatoes, beans, and warm bread with condiments. (Make sure to ask her a day in advance for her chilequilles .... best ever!). Marta also manages the rooms, and, like the inn itself, they are ultra clean, well appointed, and exude tradition and hospitality. Santiago called me the day before (speaks fluent english)to make sure we had our route set, greeted us each morning to ask if we needed anything in the way of of information or assistance, and is very knowledgable about the area. We had a wonderful 4 nights here, and found the location ideal for visits to both Ensenada and the Guadalupe Valley wine country. If you are lucky during your visit, you will be greeted at some point by Lola, the 10 year Dachshund that is the real jefe at Quinta Los Arrayanes!
