I liked pretty much everything like the location, facilities and all that.
There was nothing a didn't like.
- Wifi signal was one of the best I experienced while there - Staff are very friendly, always greeted me with a smile - Hotel right on "main drag" (Quinta Ave) and right across from Starbucks - Hotel right at intersection where many taxis hang out (however, don't take these taxis; many charge 50 peso minimum. Instead, walk to 10th Ave and taxis there charge decent fair)
- My room was filled with gnats ("sancudos" in spanish). By day two, I had stings/swollen red bumps on at least 3 places and they itched a lot. By day two, I had 5 stings. It was terrible and when I went to the bathroom, there were tons hanging out by the light and humidity. - Bed was extremely hard. No cushion really. I ended up getting used to it, didn't really have a choice a friend of mine who stayed elsewhere also made the comment on how hard it was. - Water pressure very weak; not good when you have long hair and need a thorough cleansing after swimming in the beach.
The location was perfect as long as you don't mind hearing a busy street from your window. The staff were very helpful and the hotel had alot of nice little touches
Location is great Staff is nice Rooms are clean and well appointed
The music from the streets and noises by other guests all night
This was our second visit to the hotel. Our room was clean and we thought it was good value for money. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The hotel is just a couple of minutes walk away from the lovely beach. Although we had no breakfast included it is not a problem...you are spoilt for choice with a large variety of restaurants on offer. We would recommend this hotel.
There is nothing not to like!
Excellent location, right on the best street for pedestrians where most restaurants, shops, cafes and bars are. Easy to find nearby free parking on streets. Safe area, clean and cute hotel, friendly and responsive employees. Stayed in a room looking at the back yard so heard no noise at any time. Close to the beach. Fast Wifi, complementary beach towels, discount at Mamitas Beach Club. Has safe in the room, small fridge and other needs. If you are not interested in the all inclusive hotels outside of city center (requiring transportation) this is a good choice to stay.
Lovely place with excelent facilities and a friendly staff.
LOVELY PLACE!! PERFECT TO STAY IN PLAYA DEL CARMEN, COMFORTABLE, PRETTY, KINDNES PERSON IN THERE WOW GREAT EXPERIENCE!! I WILL RETURN!!
Overall fantastic and great location
Only problem was we had to wait until exactly 3 to get in room when it was obvious that the hotel was not at full compactly
We like interior- very attractive, lots of plants. Staff was very helpful ( additional bed on our request), free towels, half price for rented umrella and sunbeds) We had no breakfast, but you could get it also with discount in the nearest resaurant. Beach was very close. If you are lucky to get a room opened to the back yard, you will like it.
First night noise- music til 2am, but after it- irregular drilling- night renovation work- we complained to the nearest policeman, then they stopped at 3am. Next 2 nights room they moved us to the back was much better.
Nothing comes too mind. We could not wait to check out.
Noise levels from local bars made sleeping next to impossible! The beds and pillows very hard and uncomfortable! The mattress felt like a box spring. Price quoted for taxi to airport was $30 higher than what was quoted at other hotels! Disinterested reception staff.
no wifi, jacuzzi on roof is not heated and closed after 10p
Very helpful and honest staff.
This hotel is a decent hotel with three star standard. The rooms are reasonably spacious and the location is good, located on 5th avenue. It is close to mamitas beach, which is quite popular but highly overrated.
It gets very noisy at night as it is located in a busy street. Especiually so if you get a room with a window towards the street. If you plan on having an early night (say before 3 am) then this might not be the best option. The standard is not great, but acceptable. There is no restaurant (and hence no breakfast) and no swimming pool.
location and cleanliness
Noise, next time we'll take a room at the back.
Advertised as a "balcony" unit. Balcony was very poor, not clean, not even chairs to sit on. Our unit was inferior to all others we saw. Small, poorly furnished, bed was hard and uncomfortable. Refrigerator was small and useless. Jorge was able to get one straight back chair for us, so we had that and a small stool to sit on when we sat on the "balcony". Noise level was unbelievable. Not happy with our stay at your hotel. Michala was a charming girl, but she lined up a 3rd rate Chichen Itza tour for us. Uncomfortable van for the long trip, poor tour guide whose English was very poor. He had to present all information in both Italian and English. Frustrating to wait through the Italian and to try to understand his English.
We have been more than happy for our choice. This cozy boutique hotel it is right in La Quinta avenue, in a perfect location for shopping, dining and going to the beach. The staff is very kind, always available for any advise you might need to explore the area. We took one tour to Chickenitza and it was the perfect choice not being obliged to drive more than 6 hours. For the other attractions (Xcaret and Tulum) we used the car we rented. The hotel gave us free beach towels and discounts for Mamita's popular beach. We went to Indigo beach following the staff's advice and we have been more than happy. Breakfast was not included but there are many restaurants nearby, like La Vagabunda, Starbucks And so many cafeterias, at a extremely reasonable price that we were more than happy to be able to change our breakfast every day. If you are looking for a cozy, tipical, lovely place, this is the hotel for you. If you are looking for a five star resort hidden along the coast and far from the nightlife of Playa Del Carmen, do not get to Quinto Sol! We were more than happy and we'll be back to this hotel for our future stay in Playa. If you can, ask for the rooms at the third floor, they have a lovely terraces with a special view of Playa.
Sometimes the nightlife and the music was interfering with my sleep, but this was a minor problem.
Very cute hotel with lots of charming pieces. Noise level was quite minimal.
I am surprised how poorly staff is trained to deal with customers. On several occasions we interacted with hotel staff, and on all occasions they weren't able to help - like bring the bag from 3rd floor, or bring a crib into the room. And what's up with running to check that we did not steal the beach towel? Not a decent way to treat customers who are paying above market rate for the room. Also room had a very strong chemical smell that did not go away.
The personnel was very, very nice and caring. I could change my room after two nights (I wanted a room with own balcony). The hotel was really beautifully decorated and there was trees between the stairs to upper rooms. I loved the candles by night and the nice public balcony with sofa where you could watch over the street and have your coffee. (Starbuck was just opposite.) There is a good breakfast place nearby (the hotel recommends it too) and many, many restaurants. It's about 500 metres to nearest beach.
It was terrible noise in the room the whole evening, they play music really loud in the nearby bars, so you could make your own disco there (in your room) - the closed windows dont help anything. You can only sleep with silicone ear plugs on. Only between 2 am - 6 am it was quiet, so if you are looking for silence, don't choose this hotel.
posizione e cortesia di tutto lo staff
purtroppo è un po' rumoroso
Perfect location, beautiful rooms (we stay in the terrace's room and in the balcony's room/superior) and very nice decorated hotel. They also offer a discount for Mamita's Beach Club (sunbeds and umbrella), wich is very close.
Maybe at night a little noisy, if your room is on the Quinta Avenida (but with earplugs is ok).
