Off the beaten path. Kind kind staff, very helpful. Rooms have traditional hanging beds that rock you to sleep. Great breakfast and kitchen that is open to use to make your own meals. Hammocks outide each room. has a lovely vibe. Right on beach. Loved it. Wanted to stay forever.
The location right on the water is beautiful! The owners and staff are wonderful; so helpful and caring. The breakfast is excellent!
Very romantic and cozy
- The building is awesome
- Frog in the toilette - No drinkable water in room - Reservation lost - You can't throw toilette paper in the toilette
Hilda and all the staff are amazingly helpful. This stay came towards the end of our stay in Mexico and it couldn't have been better. I would highly recommend staying at Rancho Sakol
We visited during Sept so there were a lot of mosquitoes but Hilda provided us with insect repellent to help us cope. Other than this I can't find one thing to say that isn't nice.
I really loved our stay at Rancho Sak Ol. Before I arrived I communicated with Hilda via email and she was very helpful and accomadating. It had a nice low key atmosphere and seems like it could be appealing to anyone just looking for some quiet, but within easy reach of Puerto Morelos. Also, the swining beds unique and a real treat if you like the feeling of being rocked to sleep while listening to the ocean. I would return again!
There really were no negatives for me, I was very happy with my stay.
The staff were very nice, the rooms clean, and the kitchen convenient. I liked making my own breakfast and having access to the kitchen. The view was amazing, and the hotel was quiet. It felt very comfortable and home-y.
After a couple of days on a boat, the swinging bed unfortunately made us a little nauseous. We had to steady it with the chairs and table so it wouldn't move so much. It's a cute idea, though.
Well, this trip convinced me I MUST HAVE a hammock. The staff was fantastic. Edgar and Chel up at Saas Cafe gave me some great advice and wound up being my pseudo tour guides! The breeze can't be beat. Loved Maya and Luna!
The odd seaweed prevented me from being able to get the best access to the water but the staff couldn't help that. It would be great if there was a small fan in the bathroom just to circulate the air a little better in there. I would maybe not go the latter part of August in the future as it was just so hot. So, so hot.
Nature, beach, peaceful, breakfast
It's located about 20 min from the town, and you can use the property's bicycles to get around. Cabs come really quick if needed. It's on the beach and you can swim, snorkel or simply lay on their hammock to chill. The hanging bed was actually comfortable too. The price includes breakfast which was nice. We would love to go back there again. Many people don't notice Puerto Morelos because of Cancun and Playa del Carmen, but it's actually 30 min drive from Cancun. If you like more authentic, humble and relaxing Mexico trip this is a place to be at.
jungle like atmosphere outside of town on the beach
female owner watching silently during breakfast time, not a fun atmosphere
Relaxed, nice location with a good vibe to it. We stayed on a lay-over to Cuba, and wished we'd stayed another day.
A bit out of town, but that can be a good thing.
Rancho Sak-Ol is a paradise and the hosts are very accommodating and flexible- a big delicious breakfast is available every morning and the enormous palapa room is divine!
Right on the beach Felt like you were staying in a tree house Reasonably good breakfast and open kitchen where you can make food all day Quiet
On humid nights need a little better cooling system in the fan rooms. Not sure what would have worked but no air came in the room in spite of it being a windy night A comfortable chair
Very friendly staff Excellent breakfast
I spent 16 peaceful, relaxing nights here. It is a wonderful place. The breakfast in the morning was fresh and delicious. My room was cleaned everyday, my sheets changed every other, and there was plenty of hot water. The palapas are situated among the trees in a jungle setting. Iguanas roam freely and birds sing nightly. The ocean breeze cools the room at night. There are ceiling fans in the upstairs palapas. I was never hot at night. Rancho is about 10 minutes by bike to Puerto Morelos. Reserve a bike. Taxis will cost 50 pesos each way. You can also walk, but you'll have a bike to tour pm and ride into the colonia 3km from the public square. The beach at Rancho is beautiful, but due to its more remote location, not as swimable as in pm. Reefs surround the area so snorkeling is great. Spend your nights here. The owners are the best!
Everyone was so kind! I was greeted with a tour and fresh coconut, got to enjoy the afternoon oin my porch hammock overlooking the sea, and then I borrowed a bike and explored puerto morelos. Couldn't have asked for better hosts!
Very nice place on the beach near the town of Puerto Morelos. You'll most likely need a car or be willing to splurge for taxi rides. I think it was too hot to ride the bikes they provide at the hotel. Upstairs rooms have view of the ocean for the most part, all rooms have 2 hammocks outside to relax in and, better yet, they have floating beds! Very soothing to fall asleep in as it sways. Loved my balcony/hammock. The couple who runs this place are very nice and helpful. Breakfast was yummy- lots of fruit, cereal/breads, pastries- they provide eggs and you can fry up/scramble your own. Also a DIY orange juicer- very good! I hope it retains it's small, homey boutique feel when I come back-- And I will definitely be back!
Not in town (which is okay with me) They charged me a little over $10 more than what I was quoted on booking.com. And didn't explain why. I did not get charged for tax/extra $$ at the other places I stayed at in Mexico. Some rooms do not have A/C so if you like it cold- make sure you request a room with A/C. I can tolerate heat and the rooms have ceiling fans.
Fabulous place, loved the rooms, location, breakfast. Everything!
Rancho Sakol treated us like family and offered us use of their kitchen and bikes as well as provided great breakfasts. They also were very accommodating when we wanted to extend our stay. It's a very relaxing spot away from the hustle-bustle of the area's large resorts
Location right on the beach is great and the morning breakfast with other guests and the staff is a great way to start the day. This is a little isolated and quiet, which is what we look for. Nice sand and you can snorkel right off the beach with the Rancho's equipment. This is an ideal place to just kick back and relax.
A few more amenities such as shampoo and a hand towel would have been nice. It is 10 to 15 minute walk into town which we like but others may not. if you do not like to walk you can bike on one of their bikes, take a taxi or drive if you have a car.
The staff full of good advices the location near the sea
very sandy the bed is... special but it was ok at the end the little town is not amazing
My daughter and I had a wonderful time here; everything was even better than expected. Holds and her staff are kind, helpful and thorough. Especially noted were: proximity to beach, extreme cleanliness, easy access to the town and other resorts.
Nothing: liked it all!
breakfast is amazing kindly staff awesome view relaxing place with all you need
Loved the organic creativity of the place......very peaceful......charming helpful owners.
