Staff were excellent and always courteous. The courtyard was very appealing. Overall, its a nice old hotel well valued, central and pleasant. Bathroom shower head needed to be replaced. I went out and bought one at the market and had it changed. Sink was cracked. Towels were thin.

The hotel is charming and a great buy for the money. We had confirmed reservations for one room with 2 beds. When we arrived, the only room available had one standard size bed. This was a disappointment, but it was late and we had no other choice. Although the staff was apologetic, it really should not have happened.

Hotel Reforma was recommended from a friend. Made reservations on the internet which was easy. The hotel was very convenient to the downtown area of Merida that I wanted to be in. It is a quaint old hotel that was perfect for my needs. Lots of value for the room with flat screen TV, AC, fan, nice bathroom, free enclosed parking, free internet and a small breakfast. Room was clean and quiet. The way the hotel is situated not all the rooms have a good view of the city. And of course the hard beds which is typical in Mexico.

The hotel had a kind of faded grandeur to it, which we liked. The location was excellent and the cleaner was very thorough. Our room smelled really musty, which was unpleasant. Breakfast was very basic (when there was any breakfast at all!)

The owner, Jose and Alfonso were both friendly and helpful. The other staff speak no english. The rooms are sparten and clean. Clean sheets and they clean the comforters each time the occupancy of the room changes (so you are assured your bedding has not been slept on by the previous guest). Beds were hard, but this seems to be the case in most budget hotels. Hot water takes a long time to get going. But I have been told this is the case in most older hotels. Breakfast is the usual breakfast rolls and banana. Nothing extravagent. Coffee is not good. Location is excellent. In the center of town, near the main square. I noticed they are remodeling bathrooms. If they invest in better mattresses and get rid of the old furniture this place could really shine. Not enough english tv. outdated decor, bad coffee,

Hotel is less than one block from the city plaza in a favorable tourist location. The hotel was big and the rooms were spacious. Room serviced daily and a very good breakfast provided in the morning. Great value for money. A lovely converted colonial building. Some of the rooms may be dark but just ask for a bright room when booking.
