Score from 334 reviews Very good
Just a 2-minute walk from Glorieta de Insurgentes, the Amberes hotel has a fitness center and a tanning bed, and has panoramic views of Mexico City.
Score from 463 reviews Excellent
The location in the city is great - very central to many of the attractions. The hotel has a cool style and the staff was friendly.
As a few other reviews indicated, the sound from the nightlife on the street made it near impossible to sleep. I was there Thurs-Sun and each night the party went on to between 4-5:30am. The windows offered very little insulation, and the base from the various bars reverberates loudly. I had asked for a room on a higher floor to avoid this, but even on the 11th floor it was far too much. As well, the washroom had a sewer smell that came and went over the 3 days I stayed.
Nice room. Good breakfast. The hotel is nicely decorated. Good price value rate. Staff attitude is very good
The area is too noisy at night, unfortunately.
Excellent location with lots of bars and restaurants right on your doorstep, plus Plaza Reforma is just around the corner. The staff couldn't have been more helpful and the complimentary breakfast was lovely. They've succeeded in making the hotel feel modern and stylish although somewhat basic. This really didn't matter as there was everything you needed. We would defiantly stay here again.
Nice rooms, clean and good wifi.
A lot of noice in the street as there are a lot of bars and clubs.
Location is excellent, the room was clean and nice.
It was too cold in the room. The heater did not work. It was +19C in my room which is very uncomfortable.
Staff gentle and helpful. Good breakfast. Room very comfortable.
It is located in one of the roughest streets in Zona Rosa, almost next door to strippers' bar. Not recommended when travelling with children.
The decoration is awesome. It is a cool place to be. Breakfast is great. The staff is incredible, they really friendly and supportive.
Poor wi-fi in the room. (Please guys get it fixed asap!) The currency exchange in the hotel is really unfair. They were charging us USD$14.8 while the average value was only USD$13.5 on the street. Besides, they don't give the change in dollars, so you will get your change in mexican pesos (and the dollar value in USD$10.5). This is unfair and extremely rude! I felt cheated.
Front desk personel extraordinarily friendly and helpful, rooms are well equipped and furnished in a very stylish way, hotel is in the middle of the entertaining zone, breakfast until noon
Wlan in the room sometimes is a bit unstable
Staff was nice and room was lovely.
Nice hotel for the price. Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was included and good. Room had everything I needed and was clean. Close to many restaurants and bars and a short distance from other fun areas. Neighborhood felt safe the entire time.
There are a good amount of bars on the same block and at night it was a little bit crowded and noisy. The hotel had good windows but could still occasionally hear the noise from the bar crowd.
The design is beautiful. Rooms are huge and pretty. Breakfast is great.
If you need an extra towel you might need to go yet it yourself.
Breakfast was good, plenty of choice and lovely fresh fruits.
Some of the staff were not very knowledgeable, gave wrong information on how to get to sites and poor knowledge of restaurants Can get noisy at night, room was not cleaned one day and had to prompt reception. Street is a bit tacky, but that didn't bother me.
its near metro, room was spacious, good breakfast
the hotel is old. It looks like old swimming pool. You can find better for the price. I wouldnt come back.
I like the location, and the fact the served breakfast. 5%the other 5% bed.
90%....we arrived @ 3:00 did not get a room until 6:30 pm. They had on 2 on staff for cleaning. The rooms smelled musty
Great location to 90% of attractions always friendly staff great environment easiness off walking to attractions 20 - 30 mins walk to city central but lots to see on the way to see so welk worth the walk ...
Location, price convenient, friendly staff
Decor, simplicity, cleanliness, centrally located, nice staff, wifi. Overall really good.
Lift noise, no complimentary water, 8 am breakfast - would prefer 7 or 7.30am. In room delivery menus needed, more cable channels.
The personnel make all the difference, a great group of persons properly trained and willing to help. - bedroom large and clean modern design. - in the hart of the red zone with restaurants and bars around.
- red zone means sometime noise during night time. -Internet signal low in the bedroom.
- location: the hotel is within 1/2 block of the Paseo de la Reforma and the main buses to visit the city and surroundings - breakfast was included and it was good
- noise: apart from the clubs in the street, there were ongoing works in the building across the street (and the works seemed to start at 7 AM) plus other noises of unclear origin (they sounded like a pump). I always slept with the ear plugs on - the room had a broken window closing, so the window was always ajar (worsening the problem #1) - there were no lights by the bed (e.g. for reading), only overhead lights - the shower head leaked water
Friendly, helpful staff, convenient location, clean, nice breakfast
The only downside was the noise coming from Amberes St, as well as the fridge in the room (I had to turn it off). I could sleep just fine, but I'm sure other people may find it harder.
Location was great. Breakfast was great. The beds were comfortable.
No hair dryer; no full length mirror; no Kleenex; no clock; no outlets near the bed; no makeup mirror.
Fairly basic but good location and staff are very helpful
A bit noisy, but if you go to party won't bother you. Gay bars and shops all around. Small but decent breakfast buffet. Original design in the whole hotel.
good central location in Zona Rosa. Near touribus stop and near a lot of restaurants. Also near the independance angle which is a very nice monument to view. The staff are very friendly, I needed to prints a ticket for a tour and they helped me no poblem.
The hotel is near a lot of bars so there was a lot of noise. There are also a lot of sex shops near by. The drain in our shower clogged up so water ended up escaping onto the carpet in the room but as soon as we mentioned it to the staff we got a free upgraded and they dealt with the situation brilliantly which turned this into a positive experience.
Its in zone Rosa, with resonalble price and big room. I did sleep very well.
The internet signal is not that well in the room. I have to twist my body on the bed to get better signal. Opps, Jajaja~~
