Friendly staff! Felt relaxed and peaceful the whole trip! Great place to stay
Great environment, we had a wonderful stay - from the welcome cocktail (really delicious) to the checkout. They also supported us in setting a tour in Sian Ka'an (a must do!) and on getting to know the surroundings. Rooms are really comfortable and well designed in relation to the beach location. Only "drawback" (which isn't really one) is that - if you decide to go out in the evening - you need to have a car or take a taxi.
location hammocks beach setting bungalow
not enough cupboards in the room muskitoes
That the turtle couldn't laid her eggs in front of the hotel!
Our experience at this hotel was overall average, not bad at all but nothing about the experience made it special. First off I must just say, the location is amazing and the beach is gorgeous. The hotel has amazing beds on the beach which makes for idyllic days chilling in the sun, listening to the crashing waves and sipping on a cold Modelo Special. But this is a function of Tulum being amazing rather than the hotel itself being great. The rooms are tastefully albeit minimally decorated - no fridge, no proper closet. The salty water in the bathrooms didnt really bother us, we just had to brush our teeth with bottled water. overall we had a good stay at Rosa, just not particularly memorable
My husband and I are very well traveled which is perhaps why we were expecting a bit more and found the hotel average rather than excellent, as we benchmarked it against all the other places we've stayed at. We received better service at Blue Angel Dive Resort on Cozumel earlier in our holiday (see separate review) than we did at Rosa, and Rosa was double the price. The reasons for feeling this hotel was average: - On one of the days our room hadn't serviced by 6pm in the evening, and when I informed reception they didn't apologize - Breakfast was bad. I had the Italian breakfast one day and the croissant was literally the worst I have ever had, flat, rock hard and stale. The rest of the breakfast options (Mexican and American) aren't much better, oily eggs, terrible bacon - Not all of the reception staff could speak English well which made asking questions or trying to get information rather frustrating Some Nitpicks - when we were first taken to our room, it smelt very dank and musty, so obviously hadnt been opened up - the curtains in the room aren't big enough for the windows and don't close all the way - annoying when you want to sleep in - there is NO chicken on their restaurant menu, which is weird as all other restaurants offered it - We sent in some shirts to the laundry, and it took over 24 hours to get them back. When they were finally put back in our room, they had mixed some of our laundry up with someone else's - take note - a 10% tip is added automatically to any food and drinks you order. we ended up tipping another 10% on top of this because we felt too bad to leave the "gratuity" line blank or put a small amount on there
We had a great time in our beachfront cabaña at Rosa del Viento! Nice and spacious rooms, daily cleaned, great and clean beach, wonderful staff, good food. Very well-organised hotel.
Young people who like to guard their budget should know that you need a cab ( about 10 $ one way) for each meal or drink you want to have outside of the hotel. The hotel lies at the end of the hotel zone of Tulum and unfortunately the bikes they rent are old and rusty, which was a disappointment compared to the other hotel facilities. If decent bikes would have been provided, at a reasonable price (or perhaps for free), as an extra service for hotel guests, that would have made my stay perfect! Poor light above the mirror at the wash basin.
the staff, location, food, room size great value for price.. Highly will recommend it.
towels, cleanliness could be improved hair behind mattresses, cleaner duvet covers…
Rosa del Viento is a small, good looking hotel set at the end of the 'strip' in Tulum so nice and quiet. The rooms are fairly simple but very clean and the beds are huge and very comfy. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. I emailed them before I went to amend our booking and they were great. They do great cocktails in the bar which the waiters will bring out to you on your sun lounger. Bliss. The homemade pasta dishes at the restaurant are delicious.
The breakfast option feels a little mean. There is a big list of breakfast options for those coming to eat in the restaurant but only 4 of those are included in the price of your hotel room. We stayed at 3 hotels in Mexico and the others were much more generous with their breakfast offerings. Also, I probably wouldn't recommend staying here without a car - although there is normally a taxi available outside.
We had an ocean front bungalow which had an amazing view and worth the cost! Having AC was also a must for July. The beach at this south end of Tulum was beautiful and the drinks service to the beach lounges was awesome. It was also nice having a few options for breakfast
Its best to hire a scooter or car while you're there as its a bit far to walk to other restaurants/shops. The rooms are also very minimal.. there were only a few draws and hangers for your clothes and no tv
Wifi was too slow, our room had only one bedside lamp
Excellent location, very confortable, delicious food.
Incredible location, the restaurant's got the best view ever, few steps from the sea.
Everything was perfect, but the restaurant should have more Mexican dishes instead a lot of pizza and pasta.
Wonderful Staff - Great service Clean, attractive, comfortable rooms Perfect location Lots of beach hammocks/loungers/beds Amazing Pina Coladas Good food -- breakfasts were especially delicious
Barking dog outside cabin was annoying occasionally. I wish there had been more Mexican food on the menu -- it's mostly Italian
Location is excellent, right at the end of the beach road, feels like you own a piece of paradise, there's hardly anyone else on the beach except you and the other hotel guests. I would recommend the seaview rooms on the top floor, the view is simply breathtaking and the high celing design gives it an airy feel. Staff is really nice and helpful. Comparing to other hotels in the area we felt ot was the best value for money. We will be comming back for sure.
Stunning beach. Miles and miles of pinkish white sand and turquoise sea.
Oceanfront rooms are small and very basic, hence - overpriced. Service is inconsistent and mediocre at best. Requests never responded to and it seemed at times that the management was not really into the hospitality business. Pretty crowded during weekends as outside patrons are welcome on the property. Heavy security presence, which we found a bit concerning.
Beautiful scenery and beach. Friendly staff. Good food.
All additional expenses i.e. - massage, bike hire, laundry facilities were expensive. ATM wasn't working and nearest one was quite a cycle away.
The food was phenomenal and every dish was prepared to perfection. Loved the view from the restaurant and our room. I highly recommend the beach cabanas. We didn't use the air conditioner because it was so pleasant to leave the windows open and listen to the surf. Riding bikes to the various restaurants in the area was a blast. Amazing food.
They could use more rental bikes. Reserve yours early as they run out.
Beautiful hotel, beautiful beach. Service was excellent, everything was spotless and the rooms were spacious and airy with quiet AC (a relief after some of the clunky old air conditioners we've had in Mexico!) a lovely relaxing experience. Restaurant was also good. I wholly recommend the Bahama Mama cocktail!
Wifi was terrible, we were unable to connect to any website for more than a few minutes. Signal was slightly better in reception. But if you want to unplug and get away from it all, this might be a good thing! Also a mini fridge in the room would have been nice for keeping drinks cold. It is very far away from town and other hotels making it difficult to go out to other places to eat unless you have a car. Taxis are quite expensive.
The beautiful beach and the fabulous staff. The staff couldn't do enough for you. Always friendly and great service. The AC in the room was great for sleeping. The beds were very firm and I like them that way. Bathroom was large and the room was always cleaned well. This is a lovely resort/hotel and would definitely go back. It is truly paradise.
The water in the shower and tap was salty. Not sure if that was because it was really soft water or part sea water. Would have liked to been a little closer to other restaurants, it was a good walk to other places, but a pleasant walk too. The rooms could use a dresser or more hangers. Other than that the trip was PERFECT!
This is exactly what I wished to find in tulum: beautiful cabañas, very close to one of the most beautiful beaches of the riviera. . We walked through the beach for some km and we didn't see anything that can't be compared to it. The restaurant is excellent considering flavor, presentation and service. Massimo, esempio di vita per tutti. If i will be back to Mexico, I will stay again at rosa del viento.
We LOVED Everything. The beach was incredible, the rooms were clean and comfy with great views. The staff was extremely friendly. All around FANTASTIC experience. We're coming back.
Perfect beach setting. Very nicely set up. The management of this hotel has been great! There was a small incident when housekeeping came to do the room and somehow I came back at night and my iPad's screen was shattered. I was quite anxious about it and spoke to the manager, Massimo on the next day and he promptly investigated the incident and took the necessary steps to resolve the issue. The last thing you want on a holiday at the beach is to go back home, annoyed at the fact that there have been some issues with your belongings and Massimo's approach was hands down amazing at keeping the holidays a good memory! With management like this, will go back without hesitation.
Bikes a little old but ok. Room with a kettle would have been nice.
The location was AMAZING. Ask for the beach house No.1 as it is the first one located on the beach front. Air conditioning was a huge bonus and we felt very safe and looked after with all the staff and security. STaff was very friendly.
They could improve on their breakfasts..
The seclusion was perfect, the rooms very comfortable and the beach just beautiful.
Fantastic private ruins on the property.
