We stayed at 2 hotels a few hundred yards apart due to availability. This was our second of the trip - the room was very large, located above the restaurant, about 3 levels up. Great views and felt very private due to height. Great patio with hammock. It was quite noisy, between restaurant noise, adjacent room (with crying/screaming kids) and the nearby private house playing thumping music at all hours through the night. Not the hotel's fault, but definitely hard to relax. Food was very good, staff spoke English very well. Plenty of beach chairs, beds, hammocks...all very comfortable. They had bikes for rent, but we did not utilize them.
Several items were forgotten or not ready for us when we arrived - we were apparently supposed to get cards to allow us to check out beach towels, but were not given any. They give you a mocktail when you arrive, but those were not ready when we arrived and were brought to us later. Our phones had not synced to the local time, and we were almost an hour late checking out of our room (unknown to us at the time), but the way in which it was handled could have been better - 3 separate people knocked on the door as we were packing, showering, changing asking if we wanted help with bags...no one ever said, "hey you're late" until the third time. It felt like the hotel tries to be upper-class but didn't really nail it, so it felt sloppy in execution, and almost like it was trying to be something its not. I'd prefer a more relaxed, laid back atmosphere, which we had at our previous hotel 2 doors up the beach.
