Staff was great close to downtown Playa del Carmen in-room jacuzzi
beds too firm and not comfortable swim up bar in main pool full of kids could only make 3 reservations for a 7-night stay
Nice restaurants and a big swimming pool.
Room was old and had bad smell. This 5 star hotel room was not as good as the 4 star rooms we booked in other hotels. I was expecting the room to be a lot better than what we had
Everything were good....
That we have to leave.....
I like this eco-friendly resort, there is something for everyone. It is a family oriented resort which is a plus, you won't find a bunch of drunk young people making noise all over the place. I love the animals and the jungle feel. The spa is excellent. The facilities are beautiful, the food and service is great too! At night when the kids are asleep, you can dance away in the hidden night-club. This is my 3rd stay at Sandos but it's definitely not my last! Great Resort!
The facilities, food and location were great. Bed was a bit firm for my taste but very nicely appointed room.
Screaming babies all around our room; we didn't know about the exclusive parts of the resort. Get the upgrade if you don't have kids, it's worth it! You have your own pool and your room is in a kid-free building.
manuel sanches- the only one who help us and give us a good dervice on our 2 nights.
its seems like a very nice hotel but... the rooms are dirty, very far distance from the restorants in the hotel, lot of mosquitos' far away from the center of the city, and all of this problams could be nothing if we got the help we needed at the moment- we are a young couple on our hooney moon and we wanted to cancel the last night and when we went to the recption they told us we couldnt cancel the room because we came 10 min' late to de check out. those 10 min' spent on the line to the recption! its seems no body care we had a trouble. this is the moment to prove the service, and they didnt do that. we also suggested to pay half of the price- they didnt accapt that.
It was really over-crowded & it's a large resort to have to walk far to restaurants, pool, & beach from our room. The beach was rocky & too rough to enjoy. The quality of alcohol at the bars & restaurants is cheap. Our room was small & didn't have a door separating the bathroom for privacy! No hooks to hang towels either.
Resort very clean and well maintained. Complimentary bug spray throughout the resort was a nice touch. Hotel is well staffed and each staff member was helpful, friendly and polite. The resort never felt crowded or busy despite being at full occupancy. Yoga sessions every morning with Juan Carlos were a highlight of the trip, with the classes catering for all levels. The cenote and animals throughout the resort create a tranquil and Eco-friendly environment
The maid service was a bit hit-and-miss, with the maids arriving at random times between 8 and 4. Hot tub wasn't cleaned before arriving and towels and mini bar were not refreshed daily. Wifi only available in bars and restaurants.
You had everything you needed for your vacation and more it was great thank you
Mixture between tourism industry and ecological approaches. Surprisingly few moskitos. We came for the sports and entertainment program and it was fine. Great Yoga lessons 6 days a week. Zumba and Aqua Aerobic and the rest of the entertainment program at the pool also great but not always on time. Interesting eco trips that show nature within the resort. Tourism style Mayan shows 3 evenings a week, live bands and other shows afterwards and the rest of the days. Really good service, problems with safety box and water at arrival were promptly solved. However, every day at 9.00 a.m. somebody knocked on the door to check whether the room was occupied, that was annoying.
1. As Eco Resort they should not only offer soft drinks and artificial fruit juices. Cocktails also tasted really artificial. Missed natural fruit juices and often consumed alcoholic drinks instead as this is the only alternative if you are looking for something genuine. The plastic cups they use also make the drinks taste like plastic, maybe these could be replaced with better material. 2. The food was ok, but could have been better. If the quality gets just slightly worse, the hotel risks that people send back the food instead of eating it.
The resort is clean with beautiful surroundings. The food is good, especially the restaurants. The nightly entertainment is also good.
We arrived on a Friday night and were assigned two rooms that had musty odors and leaky sinks. The next morning we asked to have different rooms and were given a very difficult time at the counter. We were told to wait until Sunday and may be there would be something available. We talked to three different 'supervisors' and finally were assigned different rooms. These rooms have been 'renovated'. They have a new coat of paint and newer furniture. There is no musty smells. But the sinks were clogged and had to be repiped, the exhaust fan was not very strong. We understand that the resort has about 900 rooms and only ten percent have been 'renovated'. We would come back to this resort when most the rooms are in better conditions. Also, if you like to swim in the ocean then this resort is not for you. There is a lot of large boulders, rocks, and sea weed in the water. We have been to Cancun before and this is our second time. The beach in other parts of Cancun were way nicer.
