The front desk staff were excellent. Extremely nice, professional and with a true "customer in focus" attitude! Actually, we had booked 7 nights but decided to check out five hours after arriving so we stayed the night and left first thing in the morning. The hotel is pretty old and in need/undergoing some restoration. The advertised facilities (E.G. gym) is honestly a joke. There's a former hotel room (290 sqft) where a few old exercise items have been put in. The pool are is very designed but everything looks old and worn. It's just not "fresh" and it doesn't feel clean. The pictures on this, and the hotel's web site simply does not tell the truth.

The hotel was amazingly beautiful with great swimming pool and bar inside the pool that served drinks till late night. Also the hotel beach was nice with swinging mattresses that made our holiday even more relaxed. The Sushi restaurant is worth to visit since they prepare some of their own versions of delicious sushi. Great surprise was when booking a room with ocean view and jacuzzi that a bottle of cold champagne and cheese plate was waiting for us. Also worth to mention is free of charge cookie and tea time in the hotel around 5pm local time as well as sunset view from the hotel with free glass of champagne. Great value for money and more than helpful staff.

We got a good rate on bookings so that's why we booked bel air. It was a really nice hotel, rooms were very comfortable & staff are very helpful. Definately spend 1 night at coco bongo, it's a great night out. There were only hotels near us & if you wanted anything but the hotel food you had to get the bus somewhere. (but in fairness, this is the way cancun is set up, it's a long stretch of beach & hotels so not many are located close to restaurants or entertainment). the closer you stay to coco bongo's, the better. the local bus is cheap though. Taxis are expensive in mexico. if you fly into Cancun you will be charged $40 - $50 U.S. for a taxi out. Cancun is north american prices with a 3rd world standard.

Restaurant and food was good, beach was clean and well maintained. Payment by credit card was more expensive than payment by cash due to the hotel charged the card in mexican currency I payed 30 USD extra.

Loved the ocean view from room balcony. The fitness room equipment was poor quality or didn't work at all. The rightside of the hotel is where its dumpsters are located and the truck woke us up each midnight. Most of the staff in the restaurant were not friendly.

Good value for money. Staff very very helpful Taxi to airport cost $40 US. Massively ripped off. Hotel should organize a set rate to the airport from the hotel or offer a shuttle as it only 10 minutes away

My favorite thing about this resort was the infinity pool overlooking the ocean/beach. Also, I enjoyed sharing breakfast with my husband while sitting in what I call a pool restaurant (your chairs and table sit in the water) while dining and soaking up the rays-totally awesome! Lastly, the hotel goes the extra mile on providing comfy lounge chairs in the lobby, poolside, and on the beach. Great location- close to the airport. We had a poor night sleep since our air conditionaing was not working. We had a maintenance man come at 3:00 am to work on and he could not fix. At 3:30 we asked to be moved to another room so packed up our bags and moved. Since we did not fall asleep until 4:00 am we were not able to go to Isles Majueres which is what we had planned for the day. When we asked for a late checkout (2 hours later then normal checkout), they said they would need to charge us. We felt this was unfair since we had already missed our days activity and a good nights sleep.

Excellent staff, excllent localisation for calm holiday. The Breakfast is good, the restaurant good and the Sushi is Excllent. Be aware that there is an excellent opportunity to see the sunset with champagne offered by the hotel. The top floor with sea view is the best meanwhile, there is the Air-co machine located on the roof of the hotel (this should be avoided) nevertheless, it does not disturbe a lot)

Great location at the beach, most of the staff are very friendly and helpful, the open lobby area, great pool area, nice and relaxing atmosphere, great staff at the pool bar Internet is very poor in case there are many guests at the hotel and does not work properly in the mornings and evenings, the main restaurant is very loud and no quiet atmosphere at all, even in the italian and mexican part of the restaurant the noise is very upsetting when people are moving the plastic chairs, aircondition in the room is not working properly, a daily call asking for a technician is necessary,

Very nice design and atmosphere. Light and genuinely classy. Great pool and nice beach. Hardly any electric outlets in my room -- made it difficult to work on the desk with my laptop. Got better once they provided an extension cord.

The view was very nice. The closeness to airport. The building blocked the sun in late afternoon. The birds in the pool and on the wall. The pool area "closed" down at 6 pm. Nothing to do at hotel in evenings.

Pool and beach area are very nice and restaurant and bar staff is service oriented At check out they presented me with a an additional 20$ because I was 2 hours 'late'. They simply pointed at an obscure note in the wall that due time was 1 pm and that I was 1,5 late. They didn't state this detail untill I asked why my bill was so high. They also didn't enter into a conversation - both the check out clerk and the concergie - but reffered to the note and a paper stipulating this, which I didn't receive. I know there is a check out time,I travel the world for business, but I never ever have been notifies not have I received a penalty ever! This in addition to the fact the hotel itself is ready for a serious upgrade or maintenance and the restaurant is noisy and vey windy.

We were very dissapointed with our stay at the Bell Air Resort. We liked the spa and pool area, however, the overall attitude of the staff and the quality of the food were dissapointing and not worth the money spent. We are now staying at the Le Meridien and it is the same price, only much much better.

Although the building is old and damaged, re decoration has made an excellent trick, must congratulate their int designer. Once you settle in the hotel and bypass the young kinda distracted staff at the front desk, things flow nicely. Hotel location is great, the ocean with small surf is just what you need to enjoy your swimming, the beach is cleaned and patrolled effectively and the whole service crew provides excellent and genuinely friendly service, I felt like tipping them more although they did not seem to look after tips, rather enjoyed our stay as much as we did!! We'd like to come back!!! Front desk is slow, they tend to forget things you ask, but little reminders are enough.

Very disappointed. We booked 3 nights there in a ocean view king size bed deluxe. However when we arrived at 10 pm, they told us there was no ocean view room available and could only give us double bed lagoon view room without any compensation. We wanted to talk with their manager but she refused to talk to us. Another staff came and said he could give us back 12 usd for difference in price. But the price he quoted for double room is the last minute price and I booked the hotel 10 days ago. We felt very unfair but they refused to compensate any more. They said , we only have this room. Take it or leave it. Their attitude is very bad either.
