We stayed for 2 nights after travelling through Mexico for 7 weeks. Our room was spacious, the supermarket was well stocked and not expensive, the restaurants (Caye Lago and Conquistador were both superb). We loved the huge pool for early morning lap swimming, and it was an added bonus to be able to get our hair cut at the beauty salon at the Royal Carribbean adjoining our hotel. All staff were helpful and friendly, without being pushy. Views over the pool and ocean from every room
The room was spacious, view was beautiful. We had a wonderful dinner at el Conquistador
The stay was fine for one night - the resort was done for us. Restaurants other than a fine dining steak house were like a strip mall in the states; not special. Prices were a little high. Demographic was about 50 years older than we are.
Nothing to write home about!
Everything! What an utter let-down. Confusing booking process, poorly maintained ageing ghost-resort, not a hotel as it was sold by Booking.com, un-friendly and brash staff, tastelessly designed rooms, expensive and terrible food in each of the 5 restaurants.. !!! The worst holiday experience we ever had. Avoid it by all means.
The accomodation was lovely: we had a suite with a large terrace which was accessible from both the BR and the LR. We enjoyed the ocean view from there. There was also a lagoon view from the small kitchen window on the other side of the suite. It was nicely furnished and the kitchen was well-equipped. A hotel shuttle linked the various Royal properties in the area and guests could use their facilities. The concierge was very helpful in orienting us to these options. Local transit buses were frequent and inexpensive but it was a bit of a walk from the hotel to the Main Street. Most staff were attentive to guest needs and provided excellent service.
Because of hotel location and the fact we didn't have our own car, grocery purchases were pretty much limited to the Royal Market which had limited selection (although perfectly adequate for our short stay) and as one might expect in a resort, was higher priced than local grocery stores. On site restaurants (we tried 2 of 3) were adequate. The food was good. Restaurants tended to be noisy and felt more American than Mexican.
Good position, best shower we have experienced on our travels, friendly staff apart from one occasion
Asked for late check out and the very rude lady on reception quoted $300 US per hour
only the coast..
the hotel i did not like and i have staying in many hotels, this hotel is big yes but so what,it does'NOT deserve, those prices,at list without breakfast.and the humitedy is so much Special at the left side as you looking of the sea side.NOT AGAIN....
Excellent even though we stayed for only one night it was an amazing way to end our vacation. We will definitely be back again but for longer the next time. Beautiful!
The food was great at the bar near the pool !!
It was very clinical and impersonal. but that just my personal opinion.
Staff is very kind; The view from the room; Beds were very confortable; Clean toilets; Pool area is amazing for kids and you can borrow towels and snorkles; Beach area is very beautiful; Breakfast is great;
The convenience store is a bit overpriced for non-dollar users; The sea is agitated, but that's really not to blame the hotel. Just a heads up.
The facilities are perfect. Internet is good. You can spend on whole your holiday at this hotel. Private beach is awesome.
The staffs are just ask for tips all the time even they do nothing special. It was not fair and annoying.
Speedy checkin. Allowed to check in early and an hour later checking out. Very kind .
Lovely rooms with tasteful furniture and huge and comfortable double bed. Loved the balcony and having lots of space. Excellent food and fantastic service from friendly staff. We loved the location being so near to the beach and we swam with a pelican which was great. Great pool too.
One of the pull down beds was a bit hard but not a real problem.
Beach and the possibility to get a bed/parasol at the beach anytime in mid-October. Although weather report said showers and t-storms every day, it rained once for 20 min during the day and a couple of times during evening/night, of course a bit of luck needed not to have hurricanes. Nice spacious rooms, liked the chimichangas at Paco's Tacos.
Spacious rooms Price included ocean view
Facilities, room decor, lobby deco is very oldfashioned. Main entrace is hidden behind the back of a nice hotel- need to pass though a delivery area/garage of the next door hotel. Hotel full of senior crowd. Market inside hotel VERY overpriced
The view from huge balcony
Do not use the cash machine very upset it charged 21.00 to get dollars. Front desk said it was to be fixed took e mail address but never heard from them .
Wifi was very good quality Amenities such as pool were good
Quality of the food was not particularly good. Room was not ready and cleaned when I checked in which was a nuisance
The smell at lobby is awesome! you will have the same feeling if you live there! Cancun is very beautiful and everything there is perfect! Restaurant, room with large balcony are nice!
Staffs are friendly, but slow when they're working. location is a little far away from la Isla Shopping center. need to take a taxi to everywhere else.
Great location, asked for room with sea view, right on beach, ground floor with lawned area in front of terrace, leading onto beach. Spacious apartment with 2 pull down beds in lounge. Breakfast buffer style, plenty of choices, with freshly prepared eggs, pancakes etc
Accommodation a little tired. But only paying 113chf, couldn't really complain.
I loved the view of the room & the service of the staff
Some of the prices in the local store were excesive.
Check in is at 4pm and check out is at 11am, that's like a half day lost, but stolen by the management
Spacious room with comfortable bed and plenty of pillows. Easy access to beach & great sea view from room.
Noisy air-conditioner. Dirty swimming pool with dead cockroach floating on it. The hotel policy of holding a minimum sum of US $100 for each day of stay on top of the daily room charges. Stayed at a Royal Resort prior to my stay at Royal Islander and there was no such practice.
The hotel is ok. The beach is fantastic, the rooms and hotel are fairly clean, the food is good, the pool is ok.
There is absolutely nothing to do in the evening except sitting at the bar and drinking overpriced beverages.
