The loud club music playing outside. And being asked by four different waitors asking for my room number at breakfast, they should communicate with eachother better.
The ocean view is great! I love the beach.
the washroom is a little small. I couldn't use the wifi at room.
nice pools and restaurant
The staff, the room, the location, the food, the beach. Our experience here was like a happy dream.
There was nothing that we did not like.
We loved everything! Except the food. Expensive and not good.
The price of the food was outrageous and it was quite terrible. We loved everything else!
Great hotle, we loved it very much!
Great location but you need to take a bus to the center. Wi fi was week
Swimming pool, beach location. View from the room was excellent. Very comfortable stay.
Very slow wi-fi. Had to wait for check-in until 3 pm. No shuttle service to airport although indicated on booking.com.
Nice beach, pools, convenient location.
Room didn't have much of a view - no rooms with king size bed available - only 2 doubles.
The Hotel used to be called The Royal Mayan and was recently re-acquired by new owner or renovated. The hotel is decent and location to the beach is great. The staff was pretty friendly. Basically the good things are location to the beach is very close, hotels is decent in terms of comfort and cleanliness. The pool is nice and the restaurant was pretty good. Also there is a small grocery/convenience store in the bottom of the a bldg. Hotel is also located by the Mayan Museum which is pretty good and the hotel is not too far for the shopping area Plaza La Isla. Rooms are air conditioned.
- Internet is terrible terrible terrible. The staff thought it was great. I needed to Skype my family, and the internet basically never worked or was too slow to be useful. No internet in the rooms. Staff says internet is great in the lobby, this is not true it sucks everywhere at the hotel. - You cannot make a local phone call from the phone in the room, you have to dial 0 or 9 (can't remember which one) and it is an express call like 7 pesos ($.50) a min. I asked front desk about this and they said sorry. One staff member was going to let me use his cell phone for local call, but I didn't want to get him in trouble. - Minor thing but after flushing the toilet I had to jiggle the handle or water would continue run. - Maids and room service knocked on the door twice a day, once in the morning and once at night. I was in my room some times for a sunburn and when sleeping this can be annoying. Although at night they would ask if you needed 2 more bottles of water. They put 2 complimentary bottles of water in the room so that is nice. - I don't know how it is on other booking websites, but if you book on Booking.com be aware that the price does not include the taxes for each day. Booking.com said my room for 8 nights was about $980 approximately, when I went to check out there was an additional $400 dollars in state and local taxes. I paid $1,300 when it was all said and done and I didn't use anything at the hotel or have extra charges. They gave me a copy of the bill and showed me the taxes. - There is no shuttle service to or from the airport provided by this hotel, so you have to pay a taxi or taxi service. At the airport they wanted $60 US to take me to my hotel, I was able to find a taxi guy who isn't a cheat or a thief and he took me for $30 US to my hotel. When I left to go to the airport I had to pay taxi driver $24 US.
As always in Mexico people are very nice. The beach and the sea are fantastic. We spent three very relaxing day!
The front sea room doesn't necessarily mean the room has sea view. It means only that face toward the sea (in this case east), but if it's a ground floor you don’t see the sea. Still remain a good room and good hotel!
Staff was great, hotel was clean situated in good location, beach and swimming pool was amazing.
Wi fi internet was too slow
Very clean and spacious
The wifi suck!!!
In the hotel we were staying for a day. Room reservation I made through booking.com . Room price per night was $ 130 .The room was on the ground floor so the view of the sea was minimal - even though states such as room room overlooking the sea . But for accommodation for one day , I did not expect that we would get a better room . The room was clean and large, 2 beds, a safe , TV , coffee maker , microwave oven . Bathroom and toilet are together. There are several pools and sports facilities - tennis , table tennis , diving lessons ... The beach is nice and wide, with lots of sun loungers and parasols. On the beach serving you and there is a bar. The staff are helpful . Wifi is also in the room . Hotel rooms are nice and clean. Breakfast costs 230 pesos per person and is buffet style . Everything was pretty and the staff were again very helpful. Emporio is quiet and feel safe, I woke up one night at 3pm, still saw security people walking around the beach, pool, and garden to make sure everything is ok. In this hotel we spent the last day of vacation ( three weeks we were in Tulum ) and I can recommend the hotel overall although these large complexes are not right for us .
We arrived at 12 o'clock. Accommodation was not possible until 15 hours although I think that the capacity of the hotel was definitely not full - they have 400 rooms and many people in the hotel and the beach was definitely not . We wanted to do and late check -out , but again with the problem . He said it must find out. When we questioned this evening and one employee told us that it is possible for 50 % of the room but at the price list that is 50 % of about 270 dollars. I did not want to pay . In the morning I asked another employee if it is at least an hour to move and it went without payment . This is not a quality service hotel.
Beautiful beach and excellent pool area. Facilities in overall are great. Location is actually perfect, area & beach are more quiet and relaxed than near the "bar district". Good value for price.
Especially the staff at reception desk is amazingly lame and rude and doesn't seem to know how important good customer service is. Payment system could be quicker and easier for the customer.
Bar & Wait Staff was terrific but alll staff was fired when new owners took over. Shame on you--you lost some great people who had worked there for years!! pool area was terrific as was beach. Nice convenience store with computers for hire.
Front desk staff was slow and not friendly. Need to have someone help find room when you first arrive-put us in terrible dark, dank room w/no view until I went back to desk (took about 20 min. to find my way) and asked for a different room. Next room was nice, excellent view, tiny balcony but price was right. Depending upon price might stay again. Too many other options--need to up their game!
Location to the beach was great. Beachfront villa was amazing! Spacious & clean.
Ammenities and beach
Great access to beach. Access to 5 resorts and their facilities. Great view of beach.
Airconditioner was very loud. Staff were constantly trying to sell timeshare.
It's a paradise!
the rooms, were more than we expected..very nice..beds a little hard...
The service was fantastic, as well as the supply of services. Great bar in the pool area. Perfect location and beautiful beach.
It is primarily a family resort and lacks of bars and restaurants in the night.
We only spent one night, but the resort was lovely, the beach was great, and the staff was very friendly.
The View, all apartments have ocean view. The kitchen had more than you could expect.
. The people at the front desk were rude. I am mexican I know our standards, they are not friendly to tourists,I was very surprised to experience such a bad service in Mexico - You can rent several things at the hotel but there is always the bloody need for your cart, which only works if you leave an open voucher at the reception since they charged you for every little thing that they find in a pool, bowl, etc. - we had rain while we were there and they didn't mind to turn the heating of the pool at least for a bit - the condo (rather than hotel) is going down, maintenance is poor on the apartment floors, equipment in the rooms old. - the hotel had a poor little overpriced supermarket. It is oright to overprice things in such venues but this was insult in, they partially just doubled the prices - internet didn't work on the complete 10th floor and you had to sit at reception to get some low speed service. A shame for the price! - The stay in this place was definitely not worth the money. Cancun is overpriced, the hotels product of the boom of the 80's and with little maintaince they are going down 30 years later. In any case, we were told the hotel was closing end of January and there was no need for our negative/positive feedback. Shame on the "Royal" chain.
The manager at the reception desk José looked tired. We were also tired when we arrived. However, his was not helpful and friendly but mean to me and my friend. I am not sure if he was racist or just tired but we were not pleased at all when we checked in. Plus, the elevator was dirty/scary and our beds were not clean either. So much dust on both beds. We did not have a good time at The Royal Mayan. We don't recommend this hotel.
