Location is perfect! Beach front property with amazing pools and very kind beach staff... Internet Access is too limited, almost restrained to a few square meters in the lobby. There is no reason not to offer internet Access all over hte facilities, even at the beach. Room seemed a Little too old fashined.

our room had an ocean front view and a kitchen. The location was great. Staff was helpful and friendly. Free wi-fi. We will return. Kitchen had no microwave and wi-fi didn't extend beyond lobby.

I like the proximity to the beach and the old town. The pools are adequate for exercise especially in late afternoon if you want to do laps. The restaurant was cheap and the food adequate.Staff always friendly and extremely helpful There was construction on the premises and working in my room on my laptop was disturbed by the sounds of pounding and jack hammers. The air con was off then on then permanently off but I did not bother to complain because it was cool enough to sleep without it. But in the hot season it would definitiely be a problem.

Beach front, great location if you would prefer to stay in Old Vallarta. This is my 'go-to' hotel when I'm in Vallarta; I don't really care for Nuevo Vallarta with all the big hotels and Walmart. Tropicana is on the beach with great views and a friendly staff. If you are looking for a big, luxury hotel this won't be a good match; but if you are looking to enjoy the beach and city, then this is a great hotel....and you can't beat the price!!! The restaurant isn't that good, but there are so many GREAT restaurants within walking distance that it doesn't really matter.

Location, pool, friendly staff. Good security. Music to create nice atmosphere around pool would add to the experience. Air conditioners in room were noisy.

Excellent customer service!!! THE nicest most friendly helpful staff. You ask, they get it done immediately. They remember your name and treat you like a friend. Pools and grounds are beautiful. Rooms not elegant, but very nice and comfortable. Air conditioning was excellent. Pool bar and beach service excellent. The security for the hotle is excellent. They are always guarding 24 hours to make sure non hotel guest do not enter the property. Very secure hotel for those traveling with jewelry or valuables. Maid service is top notch. Very diverse crowd made it fun. A better gay hotel than the dump Blue Chairs next door. Great place for gay clientel to stay, and the staff and other hotel guests are open to all diversity. A hotel for those from 20's to 50's would like. Bar drinks are made strong....we liked! Hotel food was basic but very good for price. I think the hotel is too nice to use archaic 5 gallon bottled water containers in each room. It is awesome they provide bottled drinking water for each room, but the hotel is tto nice not to have 5 gallon dispensers that are a little more classy.

having a room with total view of the ocean, such great swimming pools and gardens and in spite of being in the playa de los muertos having privacy from vendors and a safe place to leave your things when going into the ocean. the noisy old a.c. that wetted the floor in the balcony.

The pillows felt like my head was sleeping on a bread board, the beds however have immensely improved since my last visit, they were actually very comfortable. Other than that the room was very comfortable, nice balcony and staff were super friendly.

I was supposed to stay at the Tropiciana for 9 nights and during the reservation process, I requested a beach facing room. Management choose not to contact me to inform me that the hotel is currently undergoing major renovations (during peak season nonetheless) and have very few room that face the ocean. I stayed there one night and checked out opting to stay at la palapa with friends.

It is a nice and reasonably priced, simple hotel on seafront. I enjoyed my stay. They need to improve or update the safe boxes in the room. They work with a key that if you lose, the hotel will charge you80 usa dollars

Just came back from our fourth trip to Puerto Vallarta and our fourth stay at Tropicana Hotel. We love the South/Romantic Zone because fabulous restaurants, convenience stores and market places are all within walking distance. We felt very safe there, and all the people were so friendly and helpful. The Hotel is very reasonably priced, clean and the staff are fabulous.
