Pablo's omelets and all the food choices were excellent. There were so many options, we didn't have time to try them all. Rene and the entertainment staff did an awesome job making everyone feel welcome and ensuring that there were activities to suit a wide variety of interests. There were plenty of fun things to do without leaving the resort. We loved the beach volleyball and live music nightly.
Gorgeous grounds. Nice, nice pools, but, unfortunately it rained most of the time, bummer. The food was excellent in the restaurants we tried, ie: French and Italian especially. Loved the adult only atmosphere, very relaxing, beautiful resort. We stayed in building 4, Golden suite which was great. Close to all pools and beach. Made a mistake by not taking the shuttle bus one day to Playa del Carmen. Would have broken up the time at the resort and the fare was quite reasonable, as was the timing. Our use of booking.com was great and we received excellent service when we checked in.
First of all, I think they need to give you more information in the daily newsletter. We never knew until it was too late that they were offering lunches prepared at the pools on certain dates. The buffet lunches were extensive, but, something a little more casual would have been welcome at times. Also, would have enjoyed more entertainment in the lounge areas. The piano player started too late as it was always at the time when we were going to eat, and, after dinner he was gone. We did take in a couple of the after dinner shows at the theater which were quite good. The theater itself could use some upgrading, but, the shows were fun and the staff was great. Part of our problem was it rained and was overcast during our entire stay, so, we became a little bored as the pools were the central source of entertainment. We thought the carts driving around the facilities were supposed to stop and pick us up to move us around from our area to the main hall and dining areas, but, no one ever offered us a ride. Would have been nice for a little break in the walking to dinner, etc. The beach area was a little disappointing, but, we realize that many resorts in the area have very little beach access to offer.
Check-in process was delayed and slow
Loved the location, so close to the airport. The grounds were beautiful and well maintained, and the staff(especially service staff) always went out of their way to accommodate us. The eestaurants(except hibachi) were all above par for an all - inclusive.
The VIP privilege check in was too lengthy. After securing payment, Javier tells us we have 3 king size beds, when we booked months ago , Quine sized beds. It was a beautiful day and we felt like we would never get outside.
The staff was very accommodating. The pool service was great.
the beach was average the food was good but not great
Check in was quick, room was ready early, buggy to room was ace, golden jnr suite was in a great location on lazy river, close to beach restaurant for breakfast and a short walk to main lobby and other restaurants /bars in evening. Staff were friendly and polite. Tips were always very gratefully received and never expected, ever. Food was good for all inclusive in my opinion.
Piano bar only had pianist until 8:45, it would have been really nice to listen to after dinner, esp rather than guests thinking their piano playing was entertaining...
Facilities, rooms, park, pools, restaurants
We requested a transfer from the cancun airport but the hotel staff answered to our e-mails only once that we already checked in at the hotel (btw, don't take the hotel transfer, we were asked for 95 US$ one way, while the cab we took from the airport was only 50 US$). When checking-in, the room we booked was not available so we were offered an upgrade but with separate beds. To have a single, king size bed we were requested to pay for a further upgrade. Since we are a couple we were highly disappointed. The room cleaning service was fairly random, we often had to call them and we usually got the room cleaned only in mid afternoon. One evening we asked the bellboy to reserve a cab for the next morning at 7:20 in order to take the ferry for Cozumel at 8:00. In the morning we found that no taxi had been reserved so we arrived late to Playa del Carmen harbour and missed the ferry.
Staff was extremely friendly!! Resort was absolutely amazing and food/beverages where excellent. I will definitely be recommending and look forward to going back next year!! We met so many people from all over the United States not to mention from all over the world. Best 7 day vacation ever!!!
the resort is perfect & I love the pool. I thought the entertainment was very good as compared to other resorts.
the wine choices and a change of menu for the resturant on the beach
The atmosphere was friendly. The pool area is excellent and the beach beautiful.
The rooms are tired and showing wear. The evening food was medium quality. Breakfast and lunch were always tasty.
The room service was good but very limited menu. The pools were very nice. Evening performances were good but definitely low budget..
Staff was ignorant and very often got things wrong. I rented a suite for a week and though I was renting a room but when I arrived I found I needed to pay for two people. They gave me a price, took my credit card. Then they did not charge what they said and called me and said I would need to pay for their mistake by 11PM. I said I would and was going to but by 8 PM received 3 additional calls harrassing me about it. The Facility is way to spread out. Everyone there complained about the walking distances being just too much. The food was poor quality, mosquitos were abundant. Orders for room service were always wrong. It does not have any sea side excursions. The excursions got done wrong and I missed days because they mis-scheduled them. They booked me on wrong days and for things I did not do. I am still trying to get credits for what they screwed up. There facility is OK, if someone wants to drink a lot, sit around the pool and do a lot of nothing. It is a confusing layout and everything is too far apart. I would never stay there again and advise anyone unless you are sedentary and want to sit around getting baked in the day and mosquito'd at night, and to walk your butt off for a mediocre meal then head for some other resort.
