Score from 97 reviews Wonderful
No staff members were available much of the time. No coffee was available in the morning until mid-morning. Had to pay 20 pesos for the coffee, even a refill.
Pretty beach location. Friendly staff when they were there!
Wifi was intermittent on one of our devices -- but that only encouraged us to unplug and relax!
Villa Caracol is a small, well-appointed property at the far end of the hotel zone of Holbox, about a 20 minute walk from the town center. It's very well-built and kept immaculately clean by a very friendly and helpful staff. We spent nine days/nights and had ZERO problems, lolling on the beachfront, enjoying afternoon pina coladas, borrowing the bikes to cruise into town for breakfast (YOU MUST TRY LE JARDIN!), and walking under a canopy of stars to and from dinner (YOU MUST ALSO TRY THE LOBSTER PIZZA AT EDELYN). A perfect, quiet, lovely place to unwind. Highly recommended.
They would not take our pesos but wanted everything to go through PayPal Neighbors remodeled their home by our bedroom as we tried to sleep
Love the personal attention. Love the privicey of our beach area with hanging beds and hammocks.
language barrier with wait staff no english spoken
Nice beds in suites
Breakfast not included, coffee machine but no coffee, nice staff but sometimes absent, transparent toilet s door in the bathroom! Some details to improve (hard to close the door, etc). Be aware of the noise of frogs at night.
Free bici and kayak (but we were not told not to go to the river because of the crocs), beautiful beach at the end of the zona hoteleria, nicely decorated room.
Manuel, who oversaw the property and cooked us freshly prepared breakfast and candlelight dinner. The most authentic cuisine we had in Mexico. There was attention to detail, he called us out of the sea to gives us fresh fruit juice in the afternoon and champagne and chocolates when we arrived. The sea view room is incredible, you have your own swing, hammock and chairs, and the property is not overpopulated like the adjacent resorts. You get free kayak hire and bicycle hire to ride into town. It is only a short bike ride into town but I would recommend you rather eat at the property with Manuel as a lot of the restaurants in town were touristy. If you don't speak Spanish, Manuel communicates with the property manager Viridiana, who is always available if you have a question, although we got by on pigeon Spanish and google translate.
Everything was just wonderful. Pure paradise !!!
Internet connexion was low in the appartment
The view from the appartment is amazing. The beach fornitures are very comfortables The staff was very nice and the food and cocktails were great. Great value for money, you just need to be patient as they prepare everything in the moment
Beach, while gorgeous, had a lot of very stinky debris. Kitchen was fairly well-equipped but had an odd assortment of pans, utensils. Back deck overlooked a lot of construction debris
The unit was spacious and in perfect condition. Supplied with all linens inc. beach towels. Cleaned daily. Manuel, who managed the property, was available to assist us with anything we needed.
