Sound proof windows worked great in keeping out the street sounds. Good nights sleep. Staff were efficient, helpful and friendly.
Poor wifi on property and in room. Few comfort items in the room; sat in bed most of the time. Bathroom was small and not well ventilated so felt a bit damp.
The welcome was warm and friendly The decor was amazing ,we loved it, The dining area was also a place you would enjoy eating, talking of food, the breakfast was delicious and adequate. We had dinner 2 nights and were not disappointed...very good value for money too
Only gripe which is a small one ,the wifi in our room was up and down but at least it was free so can't really complain. 8D
Very friendly and welcoming, easy assess to tourist ideas and urban life, rooms comfy and clean , decor eclectic .
small but nice hotel, individual atention :) nice location.
the location was perfect for my business meetings. it was convent to have a very nice breakfast included with the accommodation. the room was perfect in many ways except for one problem.
there was black mold on the bathroom ceiling and walls and around the tub. it can be simply cleaned with many products including bleach once a week. 5 minutes to do. no one wanted to do it. was I suppose to clean it? I reported it three times.
I travel alot gor work and wifi connections can be even in the biggest resorts an irritating factor to your stay. Here it was super fast. Loved that! The breakfast was great everymorning and very versatile. And the bed was perfect! Also the guys working there were very polite and friendly. Dumbs up!
Villa Condesa has a boutique feel with lovely, tastefully furnished common areas and comfortable rooms. The staff were excellent - friendly and knowledgeable and made our stay (our first in Mexico City) very easy. The location (in Condesa) was perfect. Condesa is full of bijou bars and cafes, wide streets with trees, and close to the central city and Chapultepec. All in all Villa Condesa is a great place to stay.
Beds were like sleeping on a cloud. We had amazing sleeps. Yummy breakfast. Great safe area to stay in. Andreas at reception went above and beyond to help us. Happy hour with free wine and beer from 6-7pm.
Walls are thin. We stayed on the ground floor and could hear walking above us. Would recommend the top floor.
Really beautiful hotel with helpful and attentive staff. Great location close to restaurants and bars. Metro station is not far so you can easily access all of the main sites in Mexico City. Felt safe walking around at night. Would definitely stay again and recommend to others.
The location was excelent. Breakfast is great.
We asked for a quiet room and they gave us one facing the street and the patio, that was noisy. Also, it was besides the reception so inside was very noisy too. Not much natural light.
Very nice classic, vintage look and feel - the nice courtyard and garden where we had breakfast everyday, the lobby, hallways, they all kept the same motif, and were really tastefully decorated and furnished. The staff was very friendly and the location is great.
The room / bathroom looked a bit shabby and old (not in a good way, or in the theme) - definitely how a 4 star hotel should look like. The breakfast was not the best (although the staff was very friendly and hospitable).
I found the staff friendly and very helpful I liked the fact that I was staying in a neighbourhood so I did not feel like a stranger when I waked the street at night it was as if I lived there
The friendliness of staff, the breakfast, the decor and location.
Location, friendly staff, good breakfast
Poor local knowledge of one reception member, no WIFI in room, difficult to find, small bathroom
I loved the decor. The glass ceiling outside our room made the hotel bright and beautiful. There are so many small seating niches to sit and enjoy your surroundings.
We did not know that most restaurants were closed on Sunday evenings so plan accordingly.
Hotel Villa Condessa is in a really nice leafy part of Mexico City. It is a small boutique hotel that is million miles from the big shiney Hilton's and Hyatts that so many business travellers seem to stay in. The staff were really nice and helpful and it was great to have a 24 hour reception where everyone spoke perfect English. This was a great place for us as to stay as a couple and to use as a quiet base to explore the city and beyond. We felt safe there too, although the city itself was much less threatening than some would lead you to believe.
Breakfast was great but we were not blown away by the restaurant when we went for an evening meal. It was all edible but a bit dull. There are lots of better places to eat at in Mexico City.
The person who greeted us and got us to our room was highly competent, spoke enough English when necessary to not make basic questions an ordeal for someone who doesn't speak Spanish well. The rooms were well done. The wifi worked and was not a rabbit hole of stupid problems to wade through just to get setup.
The hotel has absolutely no sign or any other exterior indication that it is a hotel. That makes sense from a branding position (we're so cool we don't need a sign!) but for cab drivers trying to drop off passengers from the airport, it's a royal pain in the * * *. Even the white gate has nothing to say "press the buzzer." I travel plenty so I figured it out soon enough but for the uninitiated or timid, the lack of any help from the hotel (sorry, I mean Villa) can leave new guests, weary from a long flight and newly arrived from a different country, annoyed at the lack of help getting in the door.
It's a small, cozy, friendly hotel with great service. It's located on a quiet street in the Roma district of Mexico City, on what used to be a big colonial-style house. We liked the breakfast service: breakfast is included and served a la carte with a lot of options. The staff is super helpful and will provide directions and tips, arrange tours, etc. We really enjoyed our stay.
It can be a little noisy because the walls and ceilings are not sound-proof (but it's not too bad -- and mostly quiet after 10pm).
Everything! I would book again. A much better choice in my opinion than some of the newer design hotels. Its small size and intimate courtyard is a joy to come back to after a day in the Mexico city chaos. It's an old villa, beautifully decorated with a mix of modern and antique Mexican design. The nightlife is a stone's throw away, but in here you won't be disturbed by the noise of the hotel bar.
The creaky floorboards were a bit loud.
The hotel is based in a quiet street in the lovely district of Condessa. It has an almost European feel to it, with tree lined streets and many cafes and bars.

Small & rather Expensive Luncheon Menu
Great service - super helpful! First time coming to DF and had many hesitations but villa condesa made it so easy. I'm now in love with the city and would do anything to return not only to the city but the hotel as well. The location is one of the best. If your cab driver ever gets confused, just tell him about the swanky hotel condesa down the street and you'll be close enough to give him directions for the rest of the way. It was so great to take it easy and walk around the tree lined neighborhood, looking at the little dogs at the park, old meets new architecture or walking by cute and trendy cafés. Can't say enough about condesa, you have to be in this area. Super safe and super comfortable.
Beautiful house, lovely staff, peaceful location
Wifi a bit intermittent but staff did their best to resolve this.
We thoroughly enjoyed the ambience of Villa Condesa. Having been out all day it was wonderful to walk through the front gates to a restful garden and what a lovely surprise to find a table with wine and beer in chiller waiting for the tired travellers and for the first time in our very many years of travels, provided by the hotel. A good opportunity to sit and contemplate the day or chat to other guests. There were a few lovely sitting areas and the decor was restful with fresh flowers in every area. Breakfast was very good and included in our nightly rate. The last night in MC we ate at the restaurant and couldn't fault the food and the chef couldn't have made us more welcome. He was a joy Staff were happy to help at any time and spoke english which saved time with pantomine
We liked everything but guests who are used to enormous accommodation might want to be aware that the bedrooms are not huge and the bathroom tiny but for us the rooms were more than adequate and clean. This size may only have applied to our room and we would gladly stay in the same room again
