The relaxed vibe and the fabulous long beach and sand bar up to mosquito point were highlights. There was a great choice of places to eat in every price category so wasn't expensive.
Some of the roads are in poor condition and the low level of the island means they flood causing muddy obstacles that breed mosquitos. In march it wasn't too bad though and you could always find away to avoid walking through the mud.
There was a garbage problem on the island - the further from the beach/centre of town the worse it gets and it needs a bit of a clean up.

I was impressed by the nice beachy / sandy atmosphere on this island. The roads are nice with their mix of concrete and sand. It feels so relax. We stayed 2 days but another day having breakfast by the beach and trying some of the island restaurants would have been great. It's great for relaxing.

The Island is perhaps the best remaining part of the Caribbean / northern peninsula coast that has not yet become “Gringolandia.” Although fishing and tourism are the major industries, the island retains the culture and ambiance that used to mark the places like Tulum, Isla Mujeres, or Cozumel. Hopefully the need to take a 3 hour bus ride to get there will protect Isla Holbox for a while. It’s easy to understand the 50-50 split in tourist reviews - if you expect a Disney version of Yucatán, stay away. The infrastructure will disappoint you. But if you want a unique beautiful little island, you’ll be fine. I’m actually feeling guilty for writing this - I would rather tell everyone to stay away, and preserve the entire island for the future!

It was impossible not to fall in love with Holbox, its breathtaking landscapes, its long sand beaches, its mangroves and its diversity of birds.
The highlight was kayak by night on Valentine's day and where I got to see bioluminescence :)
Having a massage by the beach is also a MUST : noticing the sun set into the sea was so amazing...

Lovely island, full of European travelers.
Lovely island, full of European travelers. Sunsets were gorgeous everyday and loved to watch all over the people enjoying them. Dogs are everywhere (which was a positive for me) Don't miss visiting the Holbox Animal Sanctuary!
Food/restaurants were tasty, but costly (much closer to US pricing). Never thought I would recommend a pizza place here, but Pizzeria La Pinsa Holbox was delicious (delicious crust and for me a vegan cheese option and affordably priced) We also enjoyed Basico Holbox- options for the whole family, but quite expensive) ATMs did have cash, but seemed to pile on fee after fee. Loved the three islands tour, fishing expedition, and bioluminescence kayak tours. Easy to walk about everywhere, though I cannot imagine it after rain, seems like it would be a sloppy mess. Everyone was very friendly and patient with my Spanish.
This is a boutique hotel right on the beach. The setting is just beautiful. We stayed in room 1 and room 4 and both were perfect. Plenty of room, great beds, and bathroom. Loved the balcony to see the sunset and relax with a book. The breakfast is very personal and very tasty! There is a nice area on the ground level to sit at the bar, lay on a lounger or relax on the outdoor couch with tons of cushions. The staff is very attentive to all of your needs.
The design of this boutique hotel is just great, they have very good taste. We loved our room as well as the pool terrace on the rooftop. The staff is friendly and helpful. As our room was available the day we left, they let us leave our stuff in the room the whole day (for free) until we took the ferry in the evening. The location is also pretty good, there are a bunch of nice restaurants around and the beach is like 3 to 5 minutes walking distance.
First and foremost, Gernando the manager is a treasure. He reached out to us beforehand and made sure to pick us up from the ferry.
After a brief tour of the island, we arrived at the hotel which was beyond our expectations. The room was cozy and romantic and the location is great, a 5 minute walk from the beach.
The breakfast included was at a nearby restaurant, which was outstanding - Peaceful atmosphere and delicious food.
One of the best boutique hotels we've stayed at! The service was exceptional, the rooms were beautiful and it exceeded all of our expectations. I'm gluten free and they made sure I had delicious fresh gluten free bread available and even cake which I really really appreciated!! The rooms, service and experience were worth every single penny! I would absolutely recommend going here and we will definitely be back sometime!
Nice hotel, excellent friendly, helpful staff. Very clean and functional. Nice pools, good breakfast. Quiet (in an increasingly noisy island). We've been coming to Holbox for 16 years and have experienced its decline from 'undiscovered paradise' to a noisy, crowded, over-developed, messy disappointment - Para Ti, however, is a welcome oasis, one of a few that remain.
Beautiful property in a quiet location just a few minutes walk from the main locations. The hosts are incredibly friendly and make you feel right at home. The rooms are huge and luxurious and much better value than the big hotels on the island. One of our favourite places in Mexico
Beautiful hotel Boutique, 2 blocks from the beach and very close to Punta Cocos. Continental breakfast, fresh fruit, fresh coffee. We love the pool and the view. The manager I forgot his name was very nice and polite. The guy serving breakfast also was very kind.
Beautiful small and personalized Boutique Hotel with a calm feel a bit outside the buzzy beach front and center. All rooms and small garden are designed with attention to detail and love. With the bike you are quickly everywhere. Very kind and helpful staff.
This exceptional boutique hotel is right on the beach on the quiet side of Holbox. Easy 20 minute walk into town. You could stay here and never have to leave if you choose not to. The staff and owners are the kindest, nicest people. My happy place for sure!
Gorgeous, boutique hotel. Beautifully kept grounds, rooms, lovely laid- back relaxing atmosphere with very helpful, friendly staff. Good proximity to shop shops, restaurants and beach. Stylish, authentic Mexican design and decor, we loved Tierra del Mar.
Everything was fabulous. Our brilliant hostess Sandra and her staff looked after us beautifully. We were so lucky to find Casa Tom Tom, we stayed in 3 separate hotels on the island due to late booking and this was head and shoulders above the rest.
The unit is located in a boutique hotel which has a lovely pool and garden area along with a cafe. It was nice to have a small kitchen and separate bedroom not just a studio with everything in one room.
One of the best hotels of our stay in Mexico! Loved everything, staff, location, breakfast, room. 10/10
Big up for the Italian lady at the reception, she was very kind and helpful! Thanks
The only thing that resembled to the boutique hotel name was the garden, rest of it was very blank and lacked the coziness what is the signature for the boutique hotels.
Just amazing. The food was 5 stars, the hotel is beautiful and the beach is clean, huge and big. It has everytjing you need! I would definetely come back again!
