We had such a wonderful time in paradise, we loved the staff who were so helpful and we cannot wait to go back.
Nothing. Perfect stay
We stayed in one of the villas with balcony and little garden. Amazing view. Charming romantic house. Not massive like many others. Great beach and service
I don't have any complaints.
We had the best time hanging around the hotel, playing on the beach with our children, and engaging with the hotel staff. Our son fell in love with the resident Golden Retriever, Tequila. The food and adult beverages were great.
Just back from a fabulous vacation in Tulum - stylish yet laid back and rustic. Villa las Estrellas has exactly that vibe. The location is excellent, walking distance to nice restaurants (recommend renting bikes to explore the town),very clean, room was spacious and comfy bed.The breakfast every morning was a perfect start to the day- delicious fruit and fresh croissants & cafe! The staff were super friendly. we didn't end our night without having a drink with Fernando:) Paco, Rafa, Pepe, Mario and the rest of the crew were attentive and did an excellent job to make our stay comfortable. Highly recommend this hotel and we can't wait to go back!
The drinks are over priced compared to other hotels/bars in the area.
The location is amazing and Pepe and his staff cannot do enough for you. We really, really loved this place.
I didn't like the fact that the water is salt water mixed with chlorine. This is the water that you use to shower with and run the sinks at the bathroom. I will also state that 90% of the hotels in Tulum are like this. The run generators for electricity and do the salt water thing for the running water.
I loved the location. You are within walking distance of the best restaurants and you are right on the beach. You can't beat the location because it is central to where you want to be. The staff where great. My man Paco took care of us at the beach and the rest of the staff where very helpful and nice. The food was great, fresh, and tasty. And the beach well in my opinion this is the best part. The Hotel is located on the best part of the Tulum Beach and the nights with the waves breaking at your doorstep is quiet magical. Great place!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Great Value!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just don't expect Luxury Four Seasons Style - Expect somewhat shabby Chic conditions
very excellent personal in all sections
The pillows - very lumpy!
The staff - very helpful and friendly
Last minute trip to tulum and well be back
I thought that this property was mismanaged. Although the staff were very friendly, most times they were understaffed in the restaurant and some were not very well trained. Sometimes the room wasn't made up until late in the afternoon. Again a staffing issue.
Just steps from the beach. Lovely rooms/suites with a pleasant decor. Nice gardens and well maintained. Very friendly staff.
From the moment we arrived until we departed everyone was friendly and helpful. The hotel is charming and relaxing. We loved the resident dog and cat as well. Perfect vacation.
The only thing I didn't like is that the shower water is little salty.. I think it is desalinated water but will be the same in most hotels in this area. It wasn't a big issue I just used bottled water to rinse my face, etc after the shower. Otherwise no faults at all.
The staff were fantastic. They remembered our names throughout the entire visit and were very welcoming. The hotel itself is absolutely beautiful. Looks like a postcard. The rooms are amazing and the beds were so comfortable we were finding it hard to get out of them. Would highly recommend. Probably the best hotel I have ever stayed in. We didn't want to leave.
The music in the restaurant/bar area is very slow and depressing. The entire group noted that it was a real downside. This obviously isn't a huge problem, but it is worth noting. Other than that, I had two major management issues. 1. the room I booked wasn't available so they asked me to move mid-stay, which is a major annoyance for me, 2. they double charged me prior to arrival. As for the room, they did upgrade me for the first few nights, but I didn't care about the upgrade, I didn't want to move mid-stay. I even asked for them to put me in a cheaper room than the one I booked, so I wouldn't have to move, but they would not refund the difference in cost. If this is an issue for you, I wouldn't book this hotel. The management did not seem to understand that for some people unpacking a bag and staying in one room is a necessary part of a vacation. They basically said they would look into what they could do - and clearly didn't "look into" any alternative situation that involved me not moving. As for the double payment, through some error between booking.com and Villa Las Estrellas, I was billed twice prior to arrival for my stay (at the time of booking and then again a couple of months later). (Booking.com says it was the hotel's fault.) To be fair to the hotel, this did not happen to anyone else in my group. I asked them to look into this prior to arrival and they admitted fault, but reimbursement was not easy for them (they would have made a wire transfer and I would have lost money in transfer fees). I was told by Booking.com to request reimbursement through my credit card. When I arrived at the hotel (3+ months after the original charge, 1+ months after the second charge), I asked them to look into my charges so I could provide necessary proof to my credit card of double charging. It wasn't until a few days later when I asked again that they did actually look into it.
The waitstaff was kind and helpful. They made good drinks and food. The resident dog is cute. The location is pretty. There is a good and cheap massage stand right next to the hotel.
Partly extremely overpriced drinks, especially the non-alcoholics and here especially the water. Bad Margaritas. Some dishes simply not delicious, not worth their price.
Location The interior design Service staff Good Pasta Fresh Bread
Great location, amazingly welcoming team and fantastic food. Couldn't fault any element to be honest.
Tap water is salty. You can hear from your room everything that you "neighbour" is doing if you know what I mean.
greAt location, nice staff and beautiful facilities!! Restaurant is average.
Great staff, beautiful beach, loved the decor, big clean special rooms with hammock and balcony. Loved it!
Having to leave so soon!
Our entire experience end to end exceeded expectations and was phenomenal. This feels very much like a cozy B&B but with the amenities of a luxury hotel. The staff is attentive and friendly, and makes you feel like family. The food and drinks are fresh and bursting with flavor--the chefs are masterful. The entire place was very clean and every room has a great view with a private deck or balcony. Water is hot and bed is comfortable. The hotel is right on the beach. It feels very safe, even at night. Most of the staff is bi-lingual and goes out of their way to make you feel welcome and at home. I will definitely come back!
That we had to come back to reality.....will miss everything about Villa Las Estrellas.
Wonderful 5 days in paradise. The suite, the beach, the food and service were perfect. We absolutely loved that there was no air-conditioning. Hearing the ocean and feeling the breeze was fantastic. So nice to spend time talking to the staff and other visitors from around the world. Definitely a place to unplug and reset priorities. Our new favorite place - can't wait to come back.
the mosquitos. not matter how much you spray, the bed "net" didn't really protect you from the bites.. it made sleeping at night a little uncomfortable for a few hours.
i loved everything!!! the views, the food, the staff and the seclusion of the hotel. it was great to be off the beaten path and bigger bonus, NO TV and not a lot of people!!! it was so peaceful, constant beach waves, got a massage next door for $35 and went into town had great food and visited Dos Ojos caves. White sand, clear warm water and a pina coloda.. i can't wait to come back to Tulum and VLE, an amazing vacation..
The infrastructure and flexibility of the owner.
the view was great. Slept soundly and the staff was beyond friendly, everyone was just so nice. My fiancé and I stayed on the second level and we just loved the thatch roof.
It's not a negative but I wish the restaurant and bar would stay open a tiny bit longer...
Absolutely stunning location right on the beach in magical Tulum. Although a very romantic place I didn't feel out of place being there on my own. Upon arrival I was greeted with such a warm welcome, a glass of mimosa and told I'd been upgraded to this deluxe room with an enormous balcony - perfect for relaxing in the hammock and watching the world go by. The food was gorgeous and cocktails delicious, it was a little pricey but worth it. I loved the simplicity of the white on white beach-chic theme, very elegant but not pretentious in the least. All the staff greeted you by name and that was a lovely touch. When I was there in August there was the amazing full super-moon. One night I just walked out from the restaurant directly onto the beach a little way, to come across a nesting turtle laying her eggs - a magical moment. I will return, but next time with my boyfriend. One of the highlights of my travels around Mexico and Belize...
The mosquitoes but that's not their fault!
Everything! We were blown away by this place...the location, the friendliness of the staff, the food - everything! Falling asleep to the sound of the crashing waves is the best thing. Make sure you try their Piña Colada and shrimp tacos too...Pepe and his team are wonderful! Big shout out to Paco and Joel who were always there to help with a smile on their fave and get us our delicious food during the day. We will definitely be back!!
Mosquitoes at night gave me a hard time.
Location is great, service is first class and friendly. The view from the rooms is great.
