Beaches are spectacular, we rented e bikes which were a godsend as we were staying outside the beach area. The military presence was a bit intimidating and Tulum town is nothing special. I probably wouldn't go back and we were sorry that we didn't spend half our time in Playa del Carmen just for a change of scenery. We liked the beach bar Planca.

The beach is beautiful, Santa Fe is free of beach bars so you only pay the £2 or so to get onto the beach not the beach cafe lot. Not allowed plastic bottles on the beach so will be charged £5 for a can of water once there if you don’t take a reusable bottle! . Cenotes are beautifull and all different so worth visiting a few. The ruins are great, arrive early though it gets hot and super busy.
The ADO coaches are great value to get from the airport and around generally (to Valladolid, Bacalar). You can use busbud app to arrange before or get off the plane and head for the ADO shopfront in the airport.
Pay for everything in cash or you’ll get scammed - everyone I spoke to had this happen at least once. They say your card hasn’t gone through and keep charging you; this is beach bars, cafes, shops and taxis. Rent a bike or get a bus as taxis aren’t regulated and ridiculously expensive!
It felt very safe and is a lovely place, shame tourists are so openly scammed cause it does make you wary of returning! Local people are so lovely and friendly, not everyone speaks English but I think that’s great! Overall amazing place highly recommend :)

Tulum is very rustic which may appeal to some people however I considered it far too expensive for the facilities offered. We hired a rental car to get to our hotel and to get around and see some of the Cenotes but to be honest I would not bother going to Tulum again. We stayed in Cancun at an all inclusive resort for the same price as our stay in Tulum where drinks and meals were super expensive. And for the cost of the rental car we could have taken tours from Cancun to see the same things.
Also note the water is not drinkable in Tulum!

I call customer care of booking for help and even property but end of staying there with not working air conditioner and bad smell water so it was not a good stay . Property owner canceled my last day stay and refund the money. But i would not recommend the property. The location which is mentioned on the booking site is not correct. No one is at reception for help and no room service.

Tulum has changed a lot since last time we were there.
Tulum has changed a lot since last time we were there. First of all, the prices are ridicoulus. Some places at the beach charge you 45 US dollars for one drink is just a joke. Second is just all the scams that go around now in Mexico, Petrol where they stop the meter and put in the price themselves so you don't get the amount of liters you should. This happened 3 times. Everyone asking for tip is also very rude. Then we went to the Tulum national park where we were told we paid the full amount and then took our bikes for 30 min to arrive to the temples where they wanted more money to just enter again. We had to go back 30 min because we didn't have more cash so we ended up not seeing the temples. We also paid for a catamaran full day trip where we paid 190 US Dollars for that should have been a sailing catamaran boat that they showed us the pictures of. We ended up on a ferry that was packed with people and just had a very bad experience. We will never go back to Mexico.
We were travelling around Mexico for a month and this was so far THE BEST Hotel. We were charmed by it's looks at night.
It's in great location close to the archeological zone and beaches, about 10-15 min. by walking and just around 3 km from center.
Just across the road is a shuttle bus stop and you can also rent bikes.
Staff were super friendly and helped us a lot. Especially Kevin, amazing guy, who made our stay even more special.
If you are looking for an accommodation in Tulum, I highly recommend this Hostel!!!!!!!
During our holidays in mexico we stayed at Casa del Arbol for 4 nights. The check in was super easy. It was within walking distance of the Ado bus station. The room was very clean, the bed very comfortable. We also had free drinking water at our apartment. We also rented bicycles through the hotel - which was super easy and quick. We went to the beach by bike it took about 20-25min.
We also felt safe there (we were 2 girls) and there were supermarkets and numerous restaurants nearby.
We really loved to stay there! :)
I want to start by saying that I love this place. I always like to try new places when I come to Tulum, and I can tell you that you won't be dissapointed with this new hotel. The pool is just huge & beautiful. Nature is part of the essence of it, just what I needed to be able to relax. The location is perfect, downtown is 5 minutes away driving and 15 minutes to the beach hotel zone. I also wanted to thank the staff, they were very polite & professional at all times and very helpful with all my requests.
Location and nature amazing, I loved that we stayed inside the archeological zone, ha! We saw a huge piton.
I like how easy to get to everything and how beautiful the beach is, you can rent a bike or walk to ruins and enjoy the nature. Downtown Tulum is about 20 min, it’s just slow ride and parking is about 200 pesos. Regardless of the road maintenance and that you have to make a huge circle through the park to get back to the hotel, it was great. I felt safe.
- Beach was more clean than in the other parts of Tulum, smaller and private (only shared with some hotels)
- Staff was always friendly and helpful
- Breakfast is okey
- Also food and drinks are good, but a bit pricy (as Tulum beach mostly is)
- Room provides all you need and is clean
- Location: perfect when you are fine with bikes, bus or Taxi for City center
Please dont expext high luxury - this is a bit simpler but very lovely place providing all you need.
The best place ever at Tulum.
The service is excellent. The staff are very friendly and humble, unlike many other fancy hotels at the hotel zone of Cancun. They always do their best to give you the best experience.
The free breakfast buffet is awesome, too many items. The hot pool is too great.
You will have the whole kitchen in your room too which surprised me most. You have ceramic plates, forks, knifes, spoons, egg beaters, glasses, mugs and so on!
Good value for money in Tulum. The rooms are large, spacious and nicely decorated. The hotel is situated just beyond the main strip of bars and restaurants making them easily accessible by foot and meaning the area is nice and quiet at night. Beach is just across the road however many of the access points are through other hotels that don't let you pass through - would recommend heading up to Zebra Beach Club ( 5 min walk) to enter beach instead.
This hotel is beautiful!! The rooms are right at the beach, the whole hotel has a very rustic vibe which goes well with Tulum.
This hotel is not in the middle of the city like others have already mentioned. To go to the city of Tulum we paid closed to $55 dolars each way which is kind of expensive.
The staff is super friendly and accommodating.
The food was one of the best we had during our entire trip. Great variety, flavorful fresh stuff.
Most amazing experience we’ve had staying in a hotel; extremely comfortable, welcoming, clean, and beautiful. We thought the location was perfect, a bit secluded from town, but not too far from it (at most 5 mins away). The host was exceptional, he was always present, willing to help in anything we needed, and very kind. In honesty, it was sad leaving not only Tulum, but the host as well since he always greeted us every morning.
excellent location in the middle of Tulums hotel zone, note it isn’t actually on the beach it’s just on the other side of the beach road you can walk to the back in literally one minute, very good price for the location and surprisingly smart. the rooms are in metal containers but are designed smart and modern inside with aircon included. I’d happily return. parking also available. also decent wifi which is a rarity in Tulum.
Very cute hotel in a great location. The suite looked exactly like in the pictures. Lots of nice details. The style is shabby chice, maybe others mistake that as “not well maintained” as we read in other reviews. But in fact everything was spotless apart from 2 tiny stains on the linen (fair enough though). Overall the best accommodation we’ve had in Mexico with great value for money for central Tulum.
Nice beach front hotel. The breakfast is served at the beach and was very good. Yoga classes 6 of 7 mornings with view over swimming pool, the beach and the ocean. Bungalows situated in a dense vegetation with soft white sand leading from the hotel lobby to the different bungalows. Coffee and tea at the room.
Walking distance on beach or on the road (about 1,7 km) to the Mayan Ruins of Tulum.
Perfect location in the Hotel Zone in Tulum.
Staff were attentive and very helpful with special mention to Michel and Chef Diego.
Hotel was on its own private beach which was cleaned every day (currently seaweed season).
We saw turtles nesting on the beach which was a real treat to witness.
Kin ha tulum was the perfect staying in tulum.
Closer To some places to have a beer, however if you have a car you can Park in the front of the hotel.
Staff was really nice and suggest us more bar cose to the beach! (very nice!)
The area close to the beach in Tulum was nice. The night life in the hotel zone was vibrant and fun. The view from the room was good and the balcony was enjoyable. It was close to nature and all villas tucked in the trees.
In my previous visits to tulum I stayed at the hotels on the beach . Now I will only stay at the Shibari hotel, perfect location, hidden oasis. Great rooms , amenities and service . I didn’t want to leave :))
Absolutely exceptional. Beautiful property, stunning pool, spacious rooms, excellent breakfast, and OUTSTANDING service. I wouldn't want to stay at any other hotel in Tulum Beach area.
Beautiful and very relaxed and relaxing hotel. I loved the area, which is in a quieter part of the town that still feels like a village. Tulum is a fun place to spend a few days.
If I could.. I would keep Nomade Tulum secret for anyone, Nomade Tulum is beyond any hotels , services and normal facility and activities..
Nomade Tulum is a life stile ..
