Better than a resort, nice garden, large room.
1.Lack of breakfast. 2.A far walk from the city center. 3.One needs to rent a car so as to go to the beach. 4.Pool was nice to see but why to use it if one is in a carribean island?
Friendly and helpful staff - ask about what to see/do and scooter hire. Great atmosphere. Homely rooms.
From the moment I arrived Álvaro and Anna made me feel right at home. It was an easy cab ride from the airport ($15 US) and the Villa grounds were well-kept, with private patios, a pool and several lounge areas to enjoy. There was even a peacock who visited each morning. The room was spacious and clean. I loved the walk-in shower. This place is quiet and relaxing. If you need anything Álvaro is right there to take care of your needs. I loved the fact that there was a full kitchen right next to the room. I cooked dinner twice. The air-conditioning works great and definitely helped make it comfortable. Anna arranged my dives with a local company just three blocks down the road. The dives were fantastic! It was so much better than going with one of those crowded cattle call type companies. Villas El Encanto is within walking distance of everything, restaurants, grocery stores, Starbucks. I walked to Starbucks every morning. This was one of the best trios I ever had and I plan to return soon. I can't imagine staying anywhere else in Cozumel but at Villas El Encanto. You will really like it.
The only thing I didn't like was having to leave!
The atmosphere is fantastic...very laid back and relaxing...The place however is made ten times better by the owner/caretaker Ms. Anna...She is a swee heart who genuinaly wanst yuo to have a good time.and she makes resevrations for you on excursions providing you her price and not wanting anything in return.
The location isn't that close to the Downtown area but once on the main drag taxis ran between 4 and 5 dollars to the downtown squar. Oh and no televisions...however place does provide free wi-fi for take the I-pad ....
The staff was very hospitable and helpful with getting around and suggesting things to do and places to eat. The environment was very peaceful and relaxing. It was a very private and home like feel. We had a wonderful stay.
The hot water in shower didn't work much. Very upsetting to leave!
The concept in fact its quite nice, it´s very cozy and it has certain charm. Very intimate and the kitchen i thought was a great idea! My bf loved the place, me not so much.
We booked a "private villa" and eventhough we were the only ppl in there, it didn´t feel so private when we were in our private pool which btw was dirty as hell, we didn´t realize until was too freaking late and we were already in!, then with the pool lights you could see how green the water was and the cover of dirt in the surface. Also we couldn´t enjoy the hammocs because the mosquitos were all over us, then what was worth from our almost 2000 pesos the room was not worth it. My bf liked if we were a bigger party but i still wouldn´t like to go back. For that price get a room in a nicer hotel maybe a bit farther but rent a scooter and problem solved!
Friendliness and helpfulness of the staff and the owners. The villa we had was spacious, with a nice outdoor area for eating or just sitting. An easy walk from the villas into the centre of San Miguel - better than being based right in the centre!
No real beach is within walking distance, but the pool area on-site is good
Staff is very friendly and diligent. Apartments are spacious, charming and clean. The tropical garden is wonderful including two beautiful peacocks Even though the villa is in the city, the place is very quiet and not too far from supermarkets, restaurants, dive centers, etc. Down side is that they don’t have a private beach for the people who care for that (I don’t) If you are looking for a real local experience, with friendly people in a place with character, you will enjoy it very much.
Place was lovely. Beautiful grounds. Very quite, super staff and owners Ana and Martin in particular where wonderful to work with. We'd recommend this to others in a heartbeat and intend to stay here again on our next visit to Cozumel. Love the fresh eggs too!
Need anIce Maker! My wife would like a bigger pool but it was fine for me. A couple of gas barbque grills would rock too but know they're rare in Mexico for whatever reason. There was nothing we disliked only suggestions for improvement and they're listed above.
The location was perfect- staff was wry helpful and we had a nice stay.
Pleasant garden & Staff.
15 minutes walk to centre. Neighbours barking dogs, sometimes.
Relaxing. Friendly staff.
We had a great time there. The location is a short walk to town and the major grocery is 3 blocks north. The owners are onsite and are very welcoming and friendly. They offered the use of their wood-fired oven for the fish we caught. We rented a kitchen villa, so it was a larger one. The towels, sheets, bathrobes were all lovely. The pool and common areas have great furniture and tables, covered decks - it's all very nice.
There are some issues with noise. I sleep very lightly- ex US Marine, father, so the drop of a dime outside and I'm up. At 4:30-5:30 AM when the peacock breaks out his singing voice while on the front porch ... it happened frequently. Our unit was right next to the main house where the peacocks primarily live so if you were in one of the further units I'm sure that wouldn't have been an issue for me.
Beautiful little hotel with extremely nice garden, swimming pool and veranda. Very helpful staff.
A bit far away from San Miguel's center. Rooms only have views to own garden.
nice boutique hotel with very friendly staff, they recommend diving instructor was very good.
The staff are amazing! Ana was very gracious. Great location. Friendly guests. Really enjoyed the common spaces.
Great atmosphere, the staff was very helfull and made you fill at home. There is a kitchen next to the room that allows you to cook your own meal if you are fed up with restaurants and a big supermarket nearby.
Serene park-like grounds, with lots of wild birds, plus two peacocks. Friendly an knowledgeable owners gave us great advice on where to eat and interesting things to do on the island. An excellent choice for peace and quiet only a 10 minute walk from the centre of town.
Loved our stay at cozumel, thanks for having us:)
Beautiful villa with apartments made with taste. Friendly stuff.
Minor problems with hot water
All the staff was awesome! Everyone was so friendly and helpful!
It was more than I expected. Well designed room with a nice kitchen that you share with other guests. Beautiful premises and very good price. The staff and owners couldn't be more helpful, they hooked us up with great icing best prices for rental cars and great info about the island.
We stayed inly three nights. It should be three weeks. We heard a strange sound overnight that I forgot to ask them about but I figured it was the peacock.
The staff was friendly and very willing to make your stay a pleasant one. Very responsive to any needs. The large, airy room and pleasant architecture made for a relaxing environment. The visiting peacocks made for a nice surprise.
20-30 minute walk to shops and restaurants. Couldn't walk to the ocean with a beach.
