Good value for money
It was the worst hostel i ever been to no toilet seats had to shower with my saddles on very dirty
clean rooms and bathroom. friendly and helpful staff. quiet at night so its easy to sleep
wifi was horrible
The atmosphere is very good. Staff is amazing, very helpful. The location is good. The price is reasonable. WiFi is good.
Only one bathroom on the first floor, not spacious enough.
Staff were very friendly, the common area was nice, the internet was fast and the location wasn't bad. Other guests were friendly, though limited conversation if you can't speak much Spanish (like us)
Very basic - understandable if it was dirt cheap but it wasn't. No sides to the top bunks, and no effort to provide ample plug sockets - there was one double for the whole room which was useless for top bunks. The dorm was like a sauna, no air con and no ceiling fan. Some long term guests treated it like their home - leaving dorm doors open while playing loud music in kitchen outside at 8am. Fridge was unusable as it was chock full of stinky food. Bathroom was a bit dirty with no showerhead, so you have to shower under a pipe.
I was thrilled to find this "non-party" hostel with friendly and helpful staff, clean, well run. Viva Hostel was just all around a treat. It is convenient to everything, yet on a quiet corner without street noise, about six blocks walk from the main shopping plaza and beach, 2 blocks from Walmart for groceries and 3 blocks from the main ADO Bus terminal. It has a basic kitchen, lockers for valuables (I was able to purchase my own lock there). I stayed in a very clean 4 bunk room, other guests were friendly, and the staff very helpful. Glad to have Viva on my list for when I go back to Playa.
location the hall
the bathroom and the shower were dirty
nice and friendly staff, but the position is too far from everything if you don't mind to walk is ok not far from a walmart la quinta,(calle5th )at about 2 km room was ok for me (single ,not dorm)
There was only 1 shower & 1 toilet working throughout the building. Slightly out of town and extremely quite. Very hard to meet people if you are a solo traveler.
Viva hostel is set several blocks from the main party scene, making this a quiet hostel (aka good for sleeping!), though it is still in a good location to get to the main drag.
You cannot get your deposit back until 7am, so beware if you have an early flight to catch/early travel plans.
Price was ok, quite close to the city center.
Very small and dark room. No a/c so it was absolutely hot and impossible to sleep at night.
No air con till late. Water pipe broke, water off all night.
This was the cheapest hostel in Playa Del Carmen at the time. It's not a party hostel, so you can sleep well at night because it's quiet. This hostel had the strongest wifi connection of any hostels I've ever stayed in. The staff are amazing.
The rooms were a little small and tight, if 4 people shared a room and they all had large backpacks, it would have been really tight. The shared fridge was a little small for the amount of people there. The restrooms could have used hooks or shelves to put your towels or clothing on while showering - but that's a super easy and cheap thing that I'm sure they'll be able to fix soon!
Very cheap! There is garrafon (drinkable water free). They give you sheets and towel. Cool taqueria at the next corner.
Position a little 5 blocks far from the movida. Few toilet. Few space in the dormitory,
If you need a quite and convivial place to stay, viva hostel is the best, the hostel personnel was friendly and helpful. Definitely it is not a party place, it is more a place to rest and enjoy a little calm in crazy play del Carmen. I recommend this hostel.
Great for a cheap bed! Didn't spend much time at the hostel, just a one night stay for cheap.
Very small, only one shower working for whole upstairs, small kitchen, and no outdoor area to hang out. Wouldn't recommend staying if it's the only place your staying in Playa but if your just looking for a cheap night in transit it's awesome for the price.
The room is spacious and the bed is comfortable. The air-con works very well inside the room. Staff friendly and helpful
Just two toilet and two showers for all the guests.
Everything it´s So Nice, confortable and the owner So gréât ..... The best value......
cleanliness of the room
bathroom and WC are not clean and small the hostel is a little bit faraway from the beach
Nice, clean, 10 min. walk to the beach. 2 min walk to the supermarket,.... The owner and her employees were really helpful-if you need anything just ask, they will try their best to get what you want.
Beds were comfortable Good air conditioning
Rooms were very cramped Staff didnt explain anything when I arrived A bit of a walk from the centre Common area is very cramped No computers Very small lockers
Good price, very clean, quite, helpful staff, beds are made daily
Breakfest can be better, showers are not working properly sometimes
You can't ask for more for the value of your money. The place is new, very clean, helpful and friendly staff, very quiet, it includes breakfast, which I did not expect, 5 minute walk to Walmart and Mega Market, restaurant down the corner, 10 minute walk to 5th Ave. and the beaches. However, if you want a very clean and beautiful beach where you can swim and see the bottom, walk about 20 minutes to Mamita beach. I really enjoyed my stay at the hostel and will be back. Thank you Lourdes, for making me so welcome! I miss you!!!
Room is Good.
You feel welcome. Good little breakfast (enough because you aren't hungry with the warmth...).
