Loved the pools, cement loungers in the pool are surprisingly comfortable - a must try! So many pools to choose from, the rooms and bathrooms are perfect for a beach resort (granted the pictures are a bit lame but who cares, go look out the window!), the Westin Heavenly bed indeed.
The food via room service (ordered a pizza) was average at best.
loved the rooms! Get one with an ocean view!
Nice view, great location..comfy beds!
In general the service was excellent, the pool was very large with different sections, the beds were comfortable & very clean. the furnishings were nice (except for a poor choice of art - paintings of wicker baskets)
I don't think you should need to pay for WiFi in the bedrooms in any hotel nowadays, I asked for someone to come up & help me with bags but nobody arrived (they did apologise), there was only 1 plug socket available in the whole bedroom! (plus 1 in bathroom), the room was quite dark, and the bathroom + bedroom were separated by shutters as if the bathroom used to be a kitchen...you could still see through, so be careful if you are sharing with someone other than your partner.
We upgraded to a larger suite. They quoted us the wrong amount and at check out we were surprised at the final bill. The attendant acknowledged that they had made this mistake before when upgrading and giving the wrong amounts to do so. However, would not adjust our bill to what was originally quoted. There was a bad bug problem on this property and service at the pool was pretty much non existent.
All around customer service was not a priority at this resort.
Great room but did not have a guarantee to get the room I requested well in advance until arrival. Lucky this time to get it overlooking the ocean with a king size bed. the pools were great but the swim up bar would not accept American money. only pesos or credit card. staff not polite at swim up bar either.
most of the staff not really very nice to me as I am an American. they were very nice to my Mexican companion, but not me. would not give me the time of day. the beach (sand quality) is terrible.
The room was great, the view of Puerto Vallarta and the outdoor hot tub were excellent. Attention from the staff was brilliant.
The pool could have been better cleaned. El Palmar restaurant service was quite slow on saturday afternoon.
Very nice beds and linen
Locked bar fridge
What a great way to kickoff our stay in PV! We only had 1 night here, as we were meeting friends at a house later for the week -- but we loved arriving in this unfamiliar city with a very familiar name like Westin. Loved the sweeping views of the ocean from the 8th floor. Got upgraded - thank you Westin! Staff at the pool/beachfront made the best margaritas and snacks. Hot tubbing from our own deck was perfect way to unwind from the flight. Taxis were easy. Walking around the dock area was safe and easy. Walk 15 minutes to Starbucks if you feel inclined. Location has a XOXO in front, made it easy to grab bottled water or extras for DIY margaritas. Service was superb -- even AFTER we checked out when I had a situation where I left behind items in the closet. Staff was responsive, retrieved the items, and had them ready for me at Front Desk. Thank you, Westin PV!
Pools are great for little kids.
Beach isn't very good for swimming.
Beautiful resort, great food
Hated to have to pay for wifi in the room, should be a courtesy.
Spa mani/pedi way over priced. I expected to pay more than normal since I was in a resort. But it was $130. At home an expense one is $45 ( San Fran). They also weren't really set up since the high season was over so it took time to feet it pulled together. The girls did a good job but had no sealing "top coat" so the manicure came off in less than a week. That combined with the high price was bothersome. Small detail but sometimes it's the little things.
The pools and the restaurant down on Banderas Bay. The food was fantastic and the staff was very attentive.
Cleanliness of facility could of been a little better. Particularly where the birds have made messes.
The Westin was clean and comfortable with lovely views looking back toward Puerto Vallarta and the mountains, the Pacific Ocean, and the Marina. The staff were all friendly and helpful. There was a sumptuous and delicious breakfast buffet. We got an excellent rate thanks to Booking.com.
great view like any other ocean front in Vallarta cant beat it. room layout was nice bathroom was gorgeous. terrace was great and safe for baby dining was not bad portions small prices big
Bedding and pillows had a horrible smell! like either wet dog or popcorn it's hard to describe but it was nasty. I checked in late with toddler.. after 9pm, pool was closed, outside resteraunt was already booked.. I was told I could have a late check-out because I was checking in late.. so the staff bumped me to 1 pm... in the morning when I woke up there was a note slipped under the door saying we cannot honor your late check-out please be out by 12 noon as we are going to have a busy day!!!! when I did the 12 noon check out the staff said "oh those are form letters they go under every door every morning" That is horrible service and inconvenience
Convenient Location, breakfast included.
The beach and sunset were lovely, but, of course, it had to be ruined with the horror of bump-bump disco blaring over the loudspeaker and some rude idiot with his boom box turned up for his own moronic gratification. The room was comfortable, too, spacious, good linens and pillows, and the bathroom was very nice with a shower and a tub. The staff, especially Josefina and Dany at the front desk, were accommodating when the noise from construction forced me to move twice. They could have been resistant, but they were not...they were hospitable, which is what you expect in a resort hotel like the Westin. Dinner on the terrace with a bit of a floor show put on by fire dancers and mariachis was fun....
It did not start well. I was shown to my room, opened the door to my balcony and was greeted with the blare of jackhammers. I asked to move, and was accommodated, but it was pretty useless. I am furious that one would go to a hotel and not be warned that construction is going on--this was not a one day or one week deal.(The construction abuts the Westin property line, and since you are on the bay, it is like being in a bowl while someone clangs the side of it with a hammer.) This work on the pool is months-long in the process, according to one staff member. On top of that, we have the blaring noise at the pool so you are forced to go as far away as you can to enjoy the beautiful view. By the way, this location is not the greatest, either, near the marina and in the middle of timeshare properties. There are few restaurants nearby. It is a good 20 minutes in a cab to the center of PV and the malecon. That said, the staff were delightful, as I find all over Mexico.
They satisfy my requirement about a welcome sign in our room for my boyfriend.
We didn't have internet in the room. That's not what I expected for the price and the Hotel quality. Our room wasn't been that I booked. It was smaller.
Kitchen hygiene questionable. First time in 5 Latin American countries over past 6 years that I had travelers illness! Aiiiii
Very friendly staff clean rooms good service
Need to pay for wifi in room and by the pool, but it's free in the lobby area. Why? Asked for a quiet room, but they put us next to the elevator and every morning, the music near the elevator started around 8.30am, we could hear it in our room, so when we tried to sleep in, we were awoken by it. You need to pay for everything extra. And it is not clear what all the hotel's service are and how much they cost, you need to ask everything which is very annoying.
The way the manager handle the situation
The staff at the beach palapa restaurant, were making fun ,and laughing and rude ,I had to confront them, and put a complain with the manager of the hotel
The hotel was quite nice and the grounds were well kept and luxurious. The staff were nice and the service was great. The buffet breakfast was delicious, although a bit over-priced. The pool area was so clean and well taken care of. It was fantastic!
It seemed like there were only a few guests staying there. It felt a bit empty. Also there was originally no ironing board in our room. When we called and asked for one it was brought promptly.
More or less everything here is of a good standard. It's a good place to stay without being remarkable. The restaurant in the main building has some wonderful dishes at good prices. I thoroughly recommend it. One night we ate at the restaurant on the beach. My main course was tiny and I was still hungry afterwards. I told the waiter this and I was brought seconds (plus a serve of vegetables) with no complaints, arguments or fuss. It was a very, very classy response to a customer complaint. Thank you.
The hotel is kind of cavernous with lots of hard surfaces and a general lack of warmth. If you like cosy, this isn't a good place to stay.
This is a very well-run hotel, with staff who really care that they provide excellent service. The grounds are lovely, the room was spacious and comfortable, and the buffet breakfast was excellent with many choices.
Great location for buses and taxis to centre of Puerto Vallarta yet very relaxed and quiet.
