staff kept chasing for checked out, even I have informed them will checked out 1.00 pm, 12.15 pm called me and reminded me to check out, extra charges will be incurred if check out after 1 pm, very bad.
poor maintenance , No fridge in room
easy for me to move around, ample parking spaces n staff quite friendly.
Staff give wrong info about the room rate.
Clean room, security 24hrs, free wifi.
Clean great pool, near to fab street food, not too far from Georgetown centre
wifi non existant, overpriced ( by about double , an 80 or 100rm room elsewhere in malaysia, we paid 150rm standard room). insecure looking windows on ground floor. quite far from places of interest
Fridge was not cold
Pool Friendly staff
A bit lot of mosquitoes. Wifi a bit slow.
Check in once we arrived the hotel, not delay our time. The rooms are quite comfortable and toilet also quite clean. Convenient location which not far from city and have a lot of food stalls near the hotel.
Noise from up stairs (those kids running around)and heavy footers walking, can't help it as it's wooden flooring on the 2nd floor.
It has various types of rooms and it's old colonial type of building.
The place is a little run down. There were misquitoes in the room which kept me awake
Stop making rules at swimming pool!
Building is old,but its clean, there taking a good care of it and its really nice place.
Long hike to town(not a problem provided you like walking).
Excellent pool facility, balcony, very good breakfast Buffett . Short walk to Supermarket for refreshments and snacks. Restaurants avail close by.
Convenient and easy access to nearby stalls
The room given to us was the exact same bedroom I stayed in as a young boy 45 years ago. What a coincidence! The wooden verandah, floor, doors and windows were exactly the same. Good buffet breakfast.
- swimming pool next to car park with no view and behind plenty building stuff stored against the wall. Not exactly picturesque. The pool itself has a few tiles missing, the jacuzzi doesn't work but the fountains were ok. Only open 7am to 7pm which limits the use when returning from a day sightseeing, especially as the hotel is not the type of place where you lounge around all day. - breakfast buffet standard but tables and chairs ex conference stock and no character. Good asian choices but not great western choice. All a bit dated. - Inside the room the key operates the electricity which means the fridge doesn't not stay cold when you're out (not ideal for our baby milk). - The tv only with 8 channels and not that interesting. No sport. No international news, etc - the bathroom in need of attention. Nothing bad but the first room we saw was generally jaded around the edges esp grouting and drains. Really needs a decent plumber bathroom fittings company on the books to renovate bathrooms and essentially take the hotel up a star. Together with new towels better toilet paper and toilet roll holder would make such a difference. Small touches. Make it homely. I normally stay in smaller family run business and believe attention to detail matters. - despite two staff on arrival the check in was very slow. And they quoted the wrong price (when we changed rooms, despite the booking.com reservation for twin / double and requesting a double). Next day they were much friendlier and corrected their mistake. But be careful. First impressions are so important. They also didn't reply to a booking.com pre arrival request re baby cot. It was available and brought later. Not bad value for money but with reinvestment could be better.
- From the one photo I saw of the front of the building I expected a small intimate hotel. Actually the front building is catering and hardly part of the hotel; the reception is around the back and the hotel extends away from the road with more than 90 rooms on two floors. - The swimming pool alongside next to car park. The pool was nice to swim in and happy it was there after all the main reason I chose the hotel. - There are long corridors which are clean bright and functional. The rooms are 2 star standard really. The furniture is not heritage and a bit of a miss match. But functional and nothing broken. The bed was comfortable with clean linen and decent pillows. - The bathroom toilet and shower worked was strong power and toiletries provided. Just ok. - The staff were friendly on arrival.
The rooms are desperately in need of renovation. We stayed twice over a few days. The second room we got in particular was falling apart. Could not rate it above 2 stars in terms of the rooms.
The restaurant is great, pool and staff also great
room and toilet is old. The noise can be heard from outside. The aircond sound is noisy and old. With this rate, you can find something better than this.
The swimming pool
the interior a bit spooky
cheap, great location
The front office accused us of stealing the television remote control. In actual, the housekeeping didn't properly check its where-about. The freakin' remote control was just on the bed, in between bedsheets.
The location. Only the location.
The size of room is ok but i imagine that the room is fitted ready with 2 queens because i books for 4 adult but turn out that the room is fitted with 1 queen and one single. Need extra bed.
All facilities work well and the hotel look nice.
The workers are honest because they did'nt take my golden bracelet that went missing in the hotel room. When i got back,i found my bracelet on the desk.
exposed/broker sewer in the toilet; insects flying/crawling around sewer; no blow dryer; worse than a hostel
close to attractions free parking inexpensive
Bathroom is prepetually wet after taking a shower, the shower curtain was very old and mouldy, ever present toilet flies, ceiling boards were damp and cracked, badly maintained rooms
Location since it is afterall along Jln Burma, one of the most heavily populated tourist area in Penang.
The water in the pool seemed not clean depending on the day. WiFi not good in room, had to go out to the corridor.
Staff extremely friendly and helpful. The triple room was very spacious for 2 adults and 3 kids. As they promised don't need to pay extra for kids and the buffet breakfast is only 10MYR for adults, free for kids under 6. I like the old character of the hotel. Good food court 3 minutes away.
