The location was in the smack of the tourist spot. The hotel has a very nice aroma from the spa's products. My young kids love the pool. I love the view from the pool terrace, especially at sunset...
Water Featured Courtyard Infinity Pool Spacious, yet cosy bedrooms Wonderful Bathtub Convenient location to the old city Nice surroundings Efficient house keeping.. too efficient
Bird droppings on railings in room and pool. Over friendly staff... too enthusiastic. Expensive pricing in the hotel shops for exclusive souvenirs... Guess there is a price for exclusivity..
Poorly trained staff, lack of knowledge about menu and hotel policies, rude and unwelcoming front desk
Location and staff. Pool was fantastic.
Ice cream was already opened when purchased. Price of extra bed is expensive.
Breakfast spread Comfortable bed Location Excellent housekeeping
Swimming pool, water too cold
The staff at the hotel were extremely friendly and helpful. Very good customer service from the staff and hotel. They really do take care of all fine details even down to leaving a note in the room showing the weather report for the next day, so that you can plan your activities. Local snacks were provided in the room during check in and later in the evening when we came back from dinner. Too bad my stay was only for 1 night. Casa del Rio really made me want to extend my stay in Malaca. This hotel is highly recommended
The long waiting time while waiting to check in. Reached the hotel at 2.30pm, and was informed the room was not ready yet. Was ushered into "The Library" to wait. Snacks and refreshments were provided while waiting. Room was ready after waiting for almost 1.5hours.
Very walkable to shopping area like Palawan and Mahkota Malls. Just a street away from Jonker Street and the great eats!
Plus points: 1. Location 2. Beautiful premises, beautiful rooms 3. Well managed 4. Efficient & friendly members of staff 5. Comfortable beds and pillows 6. Molton Brown toiletries 7. Bath tub large enough for 2! 8. Rubber ducky for the bath tub! :) I recommend the River View rooms.
The room is cozy very unique and suitable for relax. Nice swimming pool at roof top with the facilities like towel and friendly staff at swimming pool area.
I am so frustrated with the reservation where I booked and paid for Riverview but unfortunately they change my room facing garden and quarter riverview without informing me. Eventhough they said they had upgrading my room, my main concern is the view. If i purposely paid for the riverview it means that I want the riverview!!
My family and I from Malaysia and friends of ours from the uk booked 3 rooms and received a wonderful surprise when two of the deluxe rooms were upgraded to the Cheng Ho suite. The suite was beautiful, the rooms comfortable and we had a wonderful stay.
The room is comfortable and cosy. Facilities provided are up to expectation. Breakfast was sufficient and wholesome but it's not something that a guest will remember for a long time.
The wooden floor has been over-polished. It is slippery to walk on even when barefoot. It can be dangerous for older folks who may slip, fall and hurt themselves very badly. The shower head cannot be fixed properly. Maintenance should make regular checks of frequently used items. We checked in at about 3.30 p.m. when the sun was pretty hot. We were shown the usual reception area which was at that time uncomfortably hot. The staff did not seem to notice it; he just did things by the book. I had to tell him to relocate us to a cooler area while waiting to be checked in.
it is located in a very convenient location. Jonker walk is within 5 mins walk away.
Excellent location of the hotel with it's restaurant right by the riverside.
Staff were not very knowledgeable about tour options
The ambience, staff, suite, cleanliness and location are awesome. My family loved the place. Though it was a short stay, we will be back definitely.
Nothing comes to mind.
we stayed here for 2 nights and loved every minute of it. If you want to find out more, stay there. It's wondrous. The breakfast, river view, tasteful courtyard, spacious lobby, old world charm for a newly built hotel. All of this was within a 30 seconds walk into the main heritage district of Jonker Walk and St Paul's hill. Fantastic. We will return!
The furniture was already beginning to show some wear and tear after 2 years old ...slight (picky) issues with cleanliness.
1) Proximity to Jonker Street and major attractions. 2) Free shuttle bus to major malls.
1) My family and I arrived on a weekday early afternoon with no other guests in sight, yet they took about 20 minutes to check us in. 2) We were promised 2 adjoining rooms if we came back in 2 hours. When we did so in 4 hours, they said no such rooms were available! They upgraded us to a 2-bedroom suite after we refused to settle for bedrooms at 2 different floors. 3) Booked river view rooms - it was nothing much except for views of the muddy Melaka river.
The bathtub was great.
on checking, system was down, had to wait. some staff did not smile, look tired, annoyed. kept on coming in the room even though I put the do not disturb sign on the moment i left the room. too expensive for my liking.
The room is very cozy, spaces and very romantic. Recommended for newlyweds that has no time to go for a honeymoon in the far corner of busy work.Swimming pool at the top of the roof is very amazing.
Breakfast is very embarrassing for a five star hotel like this . Food choices for breakfast are just like the three-star hotel . Nothing privileges even four-star hotel has much better food choices for the breakfast. The hotel need to look deeper into the issue of breakfast food because there is no direct image of a five-star hotel. Conditions around the hotel at night was very dark and very scary , especially in the lobby area and garden
Great service and very friendly staff Welcome was very nice with drinks in the lobby to snacks in the room. Room was great and very comfortable. Third person got to stay for free. Free and safe carpark Very well-equipped rooms from bug spray to bath salts. Staff even helped wipe our car windows!!
Not breakfast inclusive prices Bathroom is made for non-Asians as everything is a bit too tall
My girlfriend spent her birthday there and she loved it. The hotel even brought a cake to the room!
Confusion over bill payment , paid 1500mr when arrived but should get rebate and end up paying over 100 less but still hasn't showed on credit card statement
This is our second time staying here an we love the place. Staff are very friendly an fantastic with our son .
That the spa was fully booked all the time...
Everything was super nice except for the noise in this specific room.
Our room, 205, was just below the pump for the pool. This was so much noise that we couldn't sleep until the system was shut down at 12:10. At 7:00 in the morning the pump started again and woke us up.
- Nice location - Nice pool - Beautiful room
- Dirty river view - Buffet not much variety
