They can arrange the river cruise to come to the hotels private dock for you. The rooms are spectacularly appointed for the price and the location is a 5 minute walk to jonkar st and the old town.

It was lovely to be able to see the river view from the balcony. The staff were friendly and helpful although they do need more training on service and product knowledge.

The breakfast buffet was decent, at least the bread and eggs didnt go wrong. the nasi lemak was the worst ive ever tasted.Did not meet the standards we have paying for the price.Any 2 or 3 stars hotel buffet can outshine them in the restaurant service and food. Staff were always nice and polite but helpless in prompt service,(a child seat or a coffee can take forever). Good luck for breakfast!

Large room was very relaxing and well worth paying extra for the river view. Many touches to make it a luxurious stay. We were impressed at the level of turndown service at which they lit candles and anti-mosquito lamps. Roof top swimming pool very refreshing and affording great view of the City. Breakfast was very good.

Fabulous welcome package. Love the lime sorbet just hit the spot after a long hours in the car from kl. The hotel has the extra service of cleaning my car windscreen every morning. That's a service above par. My family also love the library set up for books games and wondeful coffee machine. Would love to go back again, definitely!

The pool view is fantastic though bit small. Otherwise, it's fabulous.

Avoid Rooms in the south-East Corner due to Noisy Airconditioning. Quality of Service in the Restaurant and at Check-in is wide spread and not adequate of a 4*Levels Hotel

very boutique design hotel facade and interior, nice staff and best location in melaka if you visit Jonker Walk and most interets in melaka.

The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. Wife actually got injured due to a snatch-thief attempt near Jonker walk and the manager and acting manager (Susan and Alan) were really helpful in providing the medical and logistical needs for my wife's treatment. The hotel has a classic feel to it, rooms were really spacious. The spatter of the water fountain from the balcony was really soothing, and the view from the pool at the top floor over the Melaka river was fantastic. Hotel paid alot of attention to details, from the welcoming smoothie to the attractive small reminder of tomorrow's weather forecast and suggested activities. There wasnt a playground, but my daughter had a lot of fun in the library, which had a lot of boardgames and a "congkak". Location is second to none, since it is only literally a few steps from Jonker Walk and St. Paul's hill.

The noise insulation from rooms to rooms and from the road outside can be improved. We were there during a publich celebration holiday so there was this loud karaoke session happening across the river which was a little annoying for one trying to put a child to bed in the early evening. Breakfast was lovely, but the menu can be improved with more varieties. Be very wary of snatch thief in the vicinity of the hotel since it is a tourist hotspot. They operate both individually and/or in pairs. Most thefts occur when motorbikes with a pillion rider comes up from the back and snatches the handbag. Losing the handbag is one, but getting injured on top of this is the worst. If possible women are not advised to carry handbags.

Excellent hotel in a good position to explore Melaka. Everything about this hotel is first class.

Location is excellent. Service was really nice with small touches making a big difference. For example, we found a card on our windscreen when we left saying they had taken the liberty to clean our window for a clearer drive home. Just a small example of many small touches. The spa was really nice and the manager took the time to welcome us while we ate breakfast. Beautiful hotel overall.

Booked this hotel over the internet. Never expected the location to be so good.Only when we got there did we realize that it was an excellent location,adjacent to the river on it's very bank..You will have to try to bring this aspect out more effectively in pictures and written description.Everything else was very good except for a couple of things which I have commented upon (below) with the hope that it will help in improving the overall experience.

(a)The staff seemed to be quite raw. I mean, not properly trained. Particularly in the restaurant where breakfast is served.We had to keep calling the staff to clear the table to make place for fresh helpings. In a buffet, the staff need to be extremely alert to keep a watch and make place on a table.Used plates (with no food on it) occupies space and unless it is promptly cleared how does one find table space to keep a freshly loaded plate. It is quite possible that the hotel was under-staffed when we were there for 3 days (2 nights). {b{ Unless we kept asking for someone to show us the menu (for certain served items of breakfast involving egg preparations), no one voluntarily turned up to offer the menu and take the order.This shows lack of training or maybe most of them were new to their jobs. They were, of course,quite polite and attended to us when asked, but apparently they did not know that it is their job to go around and take orders even before they are asked. Large hotel groups have a training program where these things are taught in a professional manner. Perhaps you could send your staff to one such group for intensive training. (c) The third floor has a pretty decent gym. You could consider increasing the size to make more space for working out (I mean more free floor area).At present it is too cramped and you could accidentally hurt someone while doing your exercise. Above comments need to be taken in the right spirit. I am taking the liberty to bring it to your attention so that the hotel can excel in all departments.. Maybe, it already is very good compared to other hotels in Melaka .It has the potential to be the best.

Checking was amazing with a delicious welcoming ice cream. Room was beautiful and bathroom very spacious. Breakfast was delicious, with fresh squeezed juices. Swimming pool seemed to be great (but could not enjoy it). Our room had a balcony with a view on the river.

Swimming pool was under renovation. Mosquitoes at night, however hotel had provided us with repellent. Our room was located close from the AC unit, which is noisy during the night.

We loved the location, so close to all the good places to see. The staff were so attentive to details, were courteous, helpful, friendly, and very professional and always smiling. The room was really big with lovely big bathroom with bath AND huge shower (very rare in Asia). It was a pleasure to stay here. Real value for money.

Would be a good idea if the singer in the bar finished earlier than 11 30 every night as the sound could be heard in the room! Sometimes nice to get to sleep earlier.

Everything at the hotel was fine. No complains. Unfortunately, as a hotelier myself, the only one thing i would like to point out is the staff. I called in after i checked out realising a pair of shoe was left behind. In particular a staff called "DIN" in the front office needs a lot of brushing up and training to do in his telephone etiquette. He sounded rude and did not know how to speak to his guests.

The location was great, the design and look of the place was great. staff were very polite, helpful, friendly.

The hot water was not hot enough to enjoy a shower and certainly not hot enough for a bath. The breakfast was only adequate - not enough variety - the corn fritters were not nice, some fruit not ripe. No tourist information available - no bookings for tours, no money changing. Room was not overly large

We LOVED absolutely EVERYTHING about Casa del Rio... It's an amazing hotel with a great location, top-ten facilities and very nice staff... The standard room was probably the size of a BCN appartment... Big bath tub, massive shower head, super comfy bed, balcony with a great view of the garden (you could listen to the water fountain in the middle and relaaaaax), high-end finishes, cozy library with free PCs and a nespresso machine... And the infinity pool overviewing the river was just superb... Also, we found an excellent rate through booking and paid what any 3-star hotel in Barcelona costs... The "only" difference is that Casa del Rio is probably a 5-star one :D
