Cititel Penang  

The hotel was 4 stars, surprisingly we went to the room and found a 2 cm blood on the bed protector and some hair, we asked to changed the room since the housekeeper relised the terrible mistake, they changed the room and again we found some hair, this was a clear sign that they do not change the bed protector they changed the bed cover only and removed the cover protector, we had no other choice as we arrived late and it was 11.30 pm. the price was good and also the reception staff were helpfull but the cleaning should be really checked by the management

dirty with small rooms, no water pipes in toilets

generally, we are quite satisfied with cititel hotel. But we are very upset with the staff at the pool/gym. on the 1st day we arrived (6pm) then we enquired with the counter that the pool is open until 8pm, then i and my son quickly take our change and reached the pool (3rd floor) at 6.50pm, however the staff quite reluctant for us to go in, saying they going to close. fair we enjoy ourselves until 7.40pm. then the next morning, is the most insulting, we asked for pool towels then the staff said the clean towel not yet arrived, when we are about to leave with whole our body wet, suddenly one chinese lady (auntie) shouting at us said we make the floor wet, yelling at us said next time don't walk around, my replied to her does she wants us to clean up? and there won't be next time, cos' this is our last time staying in this hotel and maybe in future also no to all CHM hotel chains

Too costly not worth for the amount paid. I had booked the tickets on net with the rate said as 185rm then I had to pay by cash after reaching there as the payment was not accepted. Then to my surprise on cash payment I was told the charge is 197rm at the time of booking and was asked to pay another 100rm as advance. The worst part was that on vacating the room the rate came to 215rm.

Too costly not worth for the amount paid. I had booked the tickets on net with the rate said as 185rm then I had to pay by cash after reaching there as the payment was not accepted. Then to my surprise on cash payment I was told the charge is 197rm at the time of booking and was asked to pay another 100rm as advance. The worst part was that on vacating the room the rate came to 215rm with the lame excuse that its taxes. I had to finally pay the amount to vacate, with the family it was a horrible experience. I feel cheated, I should have taken the opposite hotel which was half the price giving the same facilities with breakfast.

Room was clean, nearby to local food, transportation was convenient. Available WiFi but only cap for 2paxs (sigh sigh) hotel staff were friendly and helpful. I will stay at cititel hotel for my next trip (provided if the room rates are reasonable)

I booked the room for 3paxs but the room amenities was only cater for 2paxs.

Close to citybus and Georgetown

Our first room had no safe had to upgrade and pay a lot more for same size room but with safe. Much too expensive you get a 4 star hotel in KL CBD cheaper.

Very well organised, helpful staff and excellent location. Clean and well laid out, with excellent choice at breakfast. Would certainly recommend.

I think information, tours and maps should be on display rather than located outside the hotel where the team were obviously more interested in selling.

There is a very nice Chinses girl in the reception.

The Hotel is near to the town, so is very convenience to find food and shopping too.

Swimming pool kecil, tiada restoran/makanan melayu

Its near location to Penang Street.

Its parking.

Relaxed and comfortable.

Parking very critical. Should be restricted to non hotel guests.

The rooms were very clean and comfortable. Nice beds, nice shower. Good location, in the city-centre of Georgetown. Daily English newspaper is nice.

Wifi isn't free, it's 40 Ringit a day. That's really expensive for a hotel that's already quite expensive. The hotel is not personal. Staff isn't really helpful. They'll answer questions, but not happily.

Rooms clean and comfortable.

Breakfast was awful. Carpets in the hallways were filthy.
