Great location just near the food stall and the supermarket, walking distance within 10 minutes.
No windows, too noise at night or maybe the noise wall is poor.
The location of this hotel is excellent. It is in the middle of town, and right in front of the taxi stand.
The rooms and facilities are old, and need to be upgraded immediately. As there was no windows in my room, ventilation was poor.
The place and room are clean enough for sleep and rest. Facilities are very basic but lobby provide sofa, internet and tv, boiling water and basic kitchen utensil. All for self service. The people who work there are friendly. Location is great. Gaya street market is just behind the hotel. A few minutes walk to any mall. I don't think u need taxi unless you have heavy loads of shopping goods.
Tv and aircond need servicing. 3rd floor room has roof leaking whenever heavy rain. 2nd floor room was all good.
Location. Walking distance from malls, shopping centers, and tourist spots. Value for money. Service is ok. Not bad, just fair. People there are also helpful and accommodating.
Wifi connection not accessible on the 3rd floor.
Location was very good, near all the shops, 10 minute walk to the waterfront. Very nice staff. The room was clean.
Wifi in the room could be better but downstairs it works good. We stayed for 5 nights and they didn't clean our room. But when asked for new blankets and towels they gave it to us.
Climb up The stairs
at first we were sceptical about the exceptionally low price but it turned out that we are very satisfied with our stay here. i would stay here again if i were to visit kk the next time. definitely worth the price for a low budget accomodation.
Walking distance to Wisma Merdeka, Suria Sabah, and Jesselton Point. There are many restaurants/eateries around place too. It is also very reasonably priced.
There was only one channel in the TV. They can also improve the rooms a bit more but considering the price, it's not that bad.
Aircon is very weak, it's too hot inside the room. The outlet for charging cellphone doesn't work, we have to pay for charging at the nearby computer or internet shop. The staff did not exert much effort. Just told us they cannot do anything about the electric problem and ac problem.
loud noisy & dirty
Cheap and easy
Not very fresh room.
The hotel has a lobby where guests can drink tea or coffee, watch TV or read a newspaper. Beds were comfortable and the air-conditioners were working fine. It's located in the central dining and shopping area of the city.
There was a lot of noise from the pump/generator in the back of the hotel, and also from the pub nearby. It would be better to get a room on the higher floors at the front of the building. The three rooms we checked had a strong musty odor.
Location is excellent and convenient, you'll be able to hunt for some nice local food at Gaya Street (just right behind the building). Easy to find when you are at KK. Staffs are good.
Facilities are old and there is only one plug available in room.
Our usual Kota Kinabalu hotel was full so we hunted around for another good budget hotel. For us, this means a clean, quiet room with everything working and air con, but we're not after anything else, like freshly painted walls, colour coordination, throw pillows etc! City Park hotel is a little more expensive than our usual but the place is in a slightly better state of repair. Everything worked and was clean. The aircon was super quiet and the electric shower worked fine. The staff were friendly and helpful including quick and effective discussions by emial prior to arriving. On arrival, they phoned the owner for information on tours for us. However, not all staff speak good English and occassionally this caused some inconvenience. There is free wifi good enough for skype calls in the reception (and on the road outside!) but not in most of the rooms. There is also a computer in the reception for guests to use. The location is great. Any hotel in the centre of Kota Kinabalu is a short walk or drive from anything in the town. Note: They do not take cards! Cash only. There are several ATMs about a 5 min walk away.
