Copthorne Orchid Hotel Penang  

房间很旧，电视机超小，厕所间洗澡水量很小，不能达到四星级的标准。

Check-in staff was friendly.Plus side is the private beach and the easy access with bus no 101 & 102 to ferringi beach & georgetown. The view was nice.

Room was a bit run down.. Do not rely on the hotel shuttle, both times we booked only to be told that there were only few spaces left and cant accomodate our 2 families. Breakfast at rm30 a bit expensive for the spread of food. The 'climb' up from main road to hotel lobby was a great challange though, esp if you had spent the time walking the night market at Ferringhi

The room that I get ( room 607 ) , provide privacy with my family and nice view of the beach / sea in the morning. But they can do better with the carpet in the room (torn and look tired/faded).

The receptionist is helpfull but can be more friendly. Instead of making it like she's doing the guest a favor during checking in, she should show that she is doing her job and trying her best in pleasing and accomodating the guest. Service at the coffee house, I would give 3 out of 10; need to fight and put a lot of effort to get their attention. the coffee house is empty of only with 4 to 5 guest at that point of time. I wonder how poor the service will get if it is running with 100% occupancy.

Helpful front of house staff and change of towels and bed linen each day.

The black mould growing around the bath which was removed the second day. We had booked sometime ago to stay fort one week so how come this necessary cleaning and bleaching had not been done in readiness. On the day of arrival we were shown two other bedrooms after commenting on the mould, the first had a patched carpet and the second had a musty smell, so we waited for the bathroom to be thoroughlohy cleaned and stayed put. Generally the hotel was not suitable any longr for 4 stars and needed a refurbishment programme.

In short, It's considered a budget 4 star hotel. Bed is 28 yrs old while facilities are norm. The only bright spot is the sea view only...

The front desk staff was nice and helpful. The rooms have a lovely view of the sea, and the price I got through booking.com was excellent.

The air conditioning on my floor was broken for three days. You can imagine how, in a tropical country, on the 15th floor, for the price I was paying per night, this was unacceptable. The Copthorne is in desperate need of a paint job on the front of the building. It is stained and makes the hotel look extremely run down from the main road. Also I was irritated with the cafe staff who often tried to tell me I had to wait to eat breakfast until 6:30 am. As I had very early starts every morning, and the food was already laid out, I saw no reason why they couldn't accommodate my needs, since I didn't have to disturb them. When I pay a bit extra for a hotel, I expect some better service to go along with it. Also the last two days of my stay, housekeeping simply stopped providing me with towels in my room.

Too far from Penang City

The environment was very relaxing and the staff were very nice.....

Perhaps they could do some facelift to the rooms..it was quite dusty..and the bathroom floor and bath tub were rather dirty...

The hotel and the service was excellent..I'll coming back when my next visit to penang..Thank you very much to all the staff, keep it up..

Nothing to be complaint and everything was fine..

This was a lovely comfortable stay. Hotel is very clean and rooms are good size. For the money I would defo recommend and stay again, infact we extended our stay by 5 nights. Fab restaurant across the road called Eric's wine bar and they have a lovely dog called bobo

Location, its between Batu Ferringhi and Georgetown.

The rooms are old, overpriced.

1)Location and view is excellent. 2)Service is good with friendly and accommodating staffs Will definitely recommend to others

1)elevator door closes too fast and as I was handling 2 children with strollers, it's a bit of a task to make sure the door keeps open. 2)elevator slightly cramped

There is no access to the beach.
