Breakfast selection was very limited and the time taken for replenishment was slow. The pool facilities overall was as what we expected (decent), but we had a very unpleasant experience with the team building group that were present. There was loud techno music being played by the pool reception staff and when I approached him to request for him to either change the music or tone down the volume, he informed me that the music was requested by the other guests. I was later informed by the staff concerned that he did not have a choice but to honor the guests requests (which is totally understandable), but what made it a total turn off was the fact that the management did not put conditions on these types of guests requests which potentially disrupts the peace and serenity. I could go elsewhere if I'm being a "Karen" about this feedback, but it's my honest review. Apart from the crappy techno / rave music that was blasting from the pool area and the poor selection of breakfast, I'd give 4 stars for the service/ hospitality by the staff in general.

Nice place for the location, beach & mountain.
Nice place for the location, beach & mountain. Breakfast & other meals can be improved ~ however we should give management grace period post lockdown. Please improve the wifi - it can’t be used.
Visit Cultural Village- it is within walking distance & nicely set up.

Visited on 30/12- As it was high tide, it was not safe to swim during our visit. But when low tide in the morning, you can walk quite far Scenery of the hill was great. There was a small waterfall nearby the resort where you can go have picnic. Sarawak Cultural Village is quite rundown now, they should have more attractions as the entrance fee is already high. Shuttle from resort to Kuching is convenient. Those who love nature can go hiking at Mount Santubong. There is a bazaar with stalls selling food and also 7-Eleven store in front of the Sarawak Cultural Village.

Quiet , attractive village where real people live.
Quiet , attractive village where real people live. Not touristy. Short drive from Damai beach which is good and has a few restaurants and shops. Cultural Village very ibteresting and the show there well worth sering Quite a way out from Kuching, but we had a hire car so were able to get about easily. Our accommodation could have arranged day trips if required Roads are good in general once outside the city busy roads.

It was sad that the Indonesian fires had such an impact on the atmosphere. Most days we weren't able to see the mountain. When the haze lifted it was better.
So glad that we were staying in the confines of the amazing Village House.

Make sure you see Irrawaddy dolphin, Proboscis monkeys and Orangutans all in their natural habitat. Amazing nature.
Kuching was a great surprise as well. Such a developed city in the middle of the jungle.
The treehouse was perfect - simple but comfortable and with everything I needed. Clean and in good condition. The bed was good, there was a kettle, fridge and nespresso, full functioning bathroom, and a balcony overlooking the sea. Food from the nearby Feeding Tree was good and not overpriced. I guess the other options for food would be the next resort, which has at least one bar, and some food stalls (and a 7-11) near the Cultural Village and within walking distance. Both beaches are good but disappear at high tide.
I was disappointing by having the staff who couldn't make my reservation at the lobby.
Instead of the welcome paper, they give me one documents which stipulate that all has to be paid ( toothbrush, slippers, ....) and no food allowed in the room ( but they have a fridge!)and no more choice only their restaurent!!! Food should be improved!, The Hotel is old, definitely not 4 stars.
The good point: location, some professional staff ( Christina, Nora and Seleryl) who tried to do their best, and the Breakfast was good.
We loved our stay at the Village house. The house was full of character and perfect to relax in the pool or lounge areas after the outdoor activities around Sarawak. Laurence and the team helped organise our activities including Bako(~40min cab) and Semmenggoh (~1hr cab) and gave plenty of great local tips. The Food on site was great with a good range of local dishes. We would definitely recommend staying hear if you want to explore Sarawak and don’t want to stay in Kuching. We hope to revisit one day!
We had a fantastic stay here .Louise and poly, our hosts were really accommodating and helpful. The views from around the hotel were stunning and we were lucky enough to see several proboscis monkies right next to the hotel.
I can highly recommend Escobars for food in the evening we went there 3 times and we were most impressed.
Staff tried to help and we're friendly as much as possible. Excellent location and beach access. Proximity to the cultural village and Bako national park was a plus. The staff were supportive with finding options for travel to the hotel, than you reception staff and housekeeping staff
The staff is so friendly. My partner was ill when we stayed here, and they took such good care of us. The hotel is beautiful, especially the pool area is very nice. The rooms are very spacious and we really enjoyed the terrace in our garden room.
The sea and nature around are wonderful. But this is not the merit of the hotel.
Great pool on the mountain, they can take you there from the reception. On the way back, you can go down the stairs directly to the beach.
The hotel is in a very private location and it is a wonderful place for some wonderful quiet time. Great place to chill and you literally don't have to go anywhere once you are here. Staff are all excellent!
The treehouse is a nice place to stay in if you want something else then hotels. You're directly start a hike from the house. Beds are good and the view as well. Bathroom a little bit outdated but fine.
It's a great place for stay cation and to go around Santubong area. We went during the weekdays and there were barely anyone around so we almost feel like we had the whole place to ourselves.
Room was ok, maybe the mosquito netting need some washing. Good ambience at the hotel, quiet, laid back. Dinner served as part of the package was good/acceptable, but breakfast was a no go.
to be able to feel “in the jungle” whilst being only 1/2hr from Kuching. The treehouses are awesome!
Jungle pool is a great spot to cool off after a short or long trek thru the rainforest 💚
Simply fantastic I even decided to stay an extra few nights I enjoyed myself that much.
A MUST visit you won't forget it.
Be ready to hike Mt Santubong 💪
