As we could not check in immediately as we had arrived too early and the previous occupants were still in the room, the hotel gave us complimentary drinks at the Garden Cafe to chill at while we waited for the occupants to vacant the room. The receptionist was also very kind in asking us to leave our bags with the porter so that we did not have to lug it around with us. Upon arriving at our rooms, our bags were sent up.The rooms are very up-to-date with all the electronics fully linked to a system beside the bed. That way, we could control everything without even getting out of bed. ;) We could even listen to the TV from the toilet as there is a radio in the toilet linked to the TV. =) There was only one hiccup in the whole stay, and that was when we checked out. The Garden Cafe had mistakenly billed breakfast to our room for 1 day even though we did not have breakfast the 3 days we were there. But it was alright because the receptionist told us that they would settle it internally, and did not make us stick around to help sort matters out .And I really have to commend the receptionist there, a nice Indian man who still had a smile for us even though he had been working from morning. Very good service. Beautiful stay. Will definitely be going back there. =) By the way, we had a free upgrade to Deluxe Room. ;)

Clean. From car park to reception is a horror of a maze passing through closed shops etc. Hotel got my NAME and GENDER wrong. You guys should work on how you transmit the data to the hotel staffs.

Staff very helpful. Very nice and calm hotel. Breakfast is a bit overcharged when not included. Wifi is not free... Leisure facilities like swimming pool close early (8pm)

Hotel is not far from the airport and there is a free shuttle bus to and from airport and shopping centres. I was there for Penang Bridge Marathon and hotel was fully booked (600 ++ rooms) yet it was fairly quiet.

the new wing is clean and the design up to date. internet costs 45Ringgit++ breakfast costs 45Ringgit++ Bento Box and two beers at the Japanese Restaurant sums up to 190Ringgit. Overall overpriced.

Hotel is very spacious, with a very large compound. The food quality at the cafe was a let down, especially in Penang, which is suppposed to be known for its good food.

Close to airport and future second link, and it will be better to provide complimentary high teas and breakfasts for guests who stayed more than 1 night in your hotel. No offer to receive and send us to air port,,,

I would like to complain about a very bad experienced and service happened to me and my husband from this Equatorial Hote(Penang)l!! I had REMARKED on my booking(BOOKING.COM) to request an Airport Transfer service and I called to Equatorial Hotel from Singapore 1day(28-8-2011) before we arrive to Penang and a staff by the name (Mr.Joey) was informed me that their staff will be at Airport at 12pm and waited before we arrive. Unfortunately, when we arrived to the Airport, no body turn up to pick us and I have to asked help from Airport's Travel counter to call to them for the pick-up arrangement. Finally, the Equatorial's bus came ONE and the HALF HOURS later!!! The Duty Manager(Mr.John Kim) said they overlooked on this. We only have 2days 1night in Penang and this happened actually canceled/delayed to all our schedule as what we planned earlier . Equatorial Hotel's service SPOILED OUR MOOD & RUINED OUR HOLIDAY.
