seaview and staff
poor wifi connection
The environment is so cozy!!!!!! Best option for city escapers ;p The customer service is just awesome! They sent us email after we booked here on Booking.com asking about the purpose of our trip and trying to give us some extra offers. We were offered a free first drink at the bar with the beautiful sea-view. Just walking around the resort is an enjoyment to us :) Highly recommended, especially in low season when it is less busy! p.s. We accidentally dropped our laundry hung on the balcony into the sea.... Luckily, they are so helpful to sent a kayak to help us ;p
I know it may because of the Eco style of the hotel, they only offer showers in Lagoon Villa. Yet, it will be awesome if bath tank is offered!
The location, superb view and setting of the resort Friendly staff The privacy Easy access to sea.. wonderful steps into the water
Rubbish floating.. No fishing activities. Transportation to & fro the island should reflect the prestige of 5star resort.. ( better boats) Patrolling for visitor's safety ( night ) Breakfast can be improved
Staff were very friendly and helpful staff were quick to try and fix problems with our rooms they definitely went out of there way to make up for the mistakes we must say one staff member made our stay very memorable thank you Fauzi dee
Wifi didn't work tv reception was terrible
Super good view and nice room,we all hv great time here and feel very relaxed! The staff here is super nice and helpful ~~ Also ,the breakfast was great and delicious!! Highly recommended!
Wifi signal is not strong enough as there's no connection in our room~
Close to the sea. Only a few steps away. Snorkling
This place is unbelievable! Total luxury, with gorgeous surroundings. Everything has been thought about.
should be more variety of food for breakfas in Macac restaurant. Swimming pool water, too much clorine i guess.
Secluded and very quiet. Beautiful and serene. Chinese seafood restaurant was great. Hot breakfast a-la-carte served instead of buffet breakfast. Best massage I have had in a long time although pricey.
Unfortunately plagued with red tide at the time of our visit end March, therefore by midday the water was an opaque reddish-brown colour but clear first thing in the morning. Rubbish littered in the water was disappointing to see, however we also stayed on the mainland at Shangri-la Rasa Ria and there was rubbish along their beach too so it doesn't seem to be isolated to Gaya Island. Really isn't much to do on the island, so if you're not one for lounging by the pool all day every day, 2 nights stay will suffice. Otherwise you will need to catch their ferry to the mainland which does not come very often. Staff were a little slow with some requests for extra pillows and sometimes when you called to front desk, call went unanswered.
The staff are very polite and friendly the food in two restaurant is yummy
The wifi was not stable, always cannot connect or speed very slow. The seaside and the water under our room have many rubbish, suggest to clean everyday the monkeys was disturbing, they are easily to entry our balcony and presented unfriendly . When we taking sun bath, the monkey came and stolen our coke to drink, then it stay in our balcony so we need to stay in our room until it leave, then we afraid to enjoy the balcony such as eating and drinking.
High quality restaurant with reasonable price. Comfortable room, nice environment.
The ferry schedule is not frequent that can't fit travellers schedule. The walking trail on the island actually cannot walk, too dangerous - the path cannot walk, not well developed. There are too many rubbish floating on the sea. They should clean it up more frequent.
the ocean villa for direct access to water
house keep staff a bit slow
The scenery was beautiful and the food was good. Staffs was very friendly and helpful.
The beach area a lot of rubbish, its spoil the view from the balcony. Guest won't feel comfortable to swim at the beach.
The view, the waters, the sealife is wonderful. Its what to be expected from an ecoresort.
Murky waters, not recommended to go there during the wet seasons November to March. It was noisy during my stay because they had some renovations done.
Fish feeding is good to view Marine life for gigantic shell , good to protect in merc centre and research.
Sea water no clean and not clear with rubbish very morning. Wifi intranet access is very poor and can't access in last 2 days at all. Red tide coming not suitable for swimming
The food, what they call a beach, the debris floating in the water, the money I wasted
The only good thing is the Alu Alu restaurant provides high standard Chinese food.
Staff not well trained. Need to keep reminding them of your requests. Everyday we have to ask for extra towels(we are family of 3 but only 2 towels provided each day). Sound of the air condition was extremely loud, as if you were on the plane while sleeping. The Palm Villa we stayed has a private pool, it's size is as small as two standard bathtub, how can you call this 'private pool' ! The water around the villas are very dirty, lots of garbage floating & never seen anyone cleaning them. Wifi is poor & tv programme always disconnected. We paid the price of a 5-star but was provided a 3-star stay! Very disappointed.
The natural ambience. Being able to snorkel just in front of the ocean villa. Sea Food at Chinese restaurant was good Watching the clouds at sunrise.
No basic facilities such as hand towels. Was told that only face towels were available! Sea food a bit expensive.
