Hotel Grand Continental Kuantan  

Basically it is all about the location. it is near the city where u can easily get to places like shopping complex and places to eat.

1. Confusing car parks. We had difficulty to figure out which carpark to take. Should have clearly state this carpark will lead you to where and where.. The basement carpark will lead you to the hotel rooms. While the upper carpark will lead you to the apartment rooms. We got to face the hurdle moving in and around to search for the ideal carpark. 2. The air conditioning was not working properly. We called the service/maintenance number and they said they'll check it out. i am not sure whether they did checked and fixed the a/c. because it remains as not so cool temperature as it is until we left for checkout. 3. The Tv : Boring channels, limited Astro channel and above all, the tv receiver was not clear. must be something wrong with the hotel's antenna or something else. 4. Okay atmosphere, maybe at that time we were staying, there was a huge group of people coming in two buses. Got to wait for a long time to get up to our rooms, waiting for the two lifts. Luckily a worker there ushered us to use the staff lift at the back. Thanks to him.

Variety of Food and Taste also good.

-The Hotel is too old and Interior also old fashion. There is leaking in bathroom. - No proper monitoring at Parking as anyone can enter and parking at hotel. -Smell of cigrate smoke at night interupt our sleep. Management have to think to renovate the hotel and creating new environment.

The Hotel is old and the facilties are in need of upgrading.

Middle of town and excessable to Halal Restaurants plus shopping complex.

Late checkup around 2pm.

Attentive and friendly staff. Decent breakfast. Excellent location.

The fact that you could'nt get access straight into hotel lobby from carpark, as we travelled by car; we parked the car then had to carry our bags to lobby, if we had known this first we would of stopped at lobby first. Lack of in room safe, and no hand towels and face cloths in bathroom.

Fair location for city tour.

Too quiet. No lounge or lobby entertainment.

My family of 4 were staying in the room 917 & 918 on 15.07.2011. My mother of age 82 and sister were in room 918. My mother's finger was cut while leaning her right hand on the wall when she was opeing the door from toilet with her left hand. The cut was about half a inch and caused quite bad bleeding. The broken wall tile where her hand was leaned while opening the toilet door was found to be the reason for the cut. The receptionist was informed and the mantainance team was immediately attended the repair work. Cleaner lady was kind enough to change the bed sheet cover dirtied by the blood stain due to the bleed. While appreciating the quick response from your cleaner and the mantainance team, my mother's finger cut could have avoided if the repair work had been carried out before our arrival. Our trip to Kuantan would be better remembered without the incident being happended!

The only thing that worth staying there is only the food, which quite good and decent, annice selection of menus

The halal chinese restaurant "the swan" next door serves delicious seafood at reasonable prices and service is quick. Also accross the street from the hotel is halal thai restaurant which is also excellent, good price and quick service. At both restaurants, I just need to point my finger at what I wanted in the menu - no hassle. Hotel itself - just okay to spend a night at. Comfy bed and friendly staff.

First we were moved to a room which was still being painted, so we were moved to a second room with mouldy carpet, smelly air and the beds looked like some people just jumped on the beddings. We asked to move room but were told all was full tho we made such an advance reservation. Finally after some wasted hours we were moved to a third room. The room is nice but were told it had phone problems. Perhaps they re doing up the place but maintenance should be routinely done. Also pool was out but didn't matter coz our check-ins already tired us out. Biz center and the entire hotel office don't have a printer when we were there so we had to look for cybercafes at nearby mall. Very unexpected but hotel frontstaff and one waiter were very helpful throughout our stay. They're very apologetic and as they are only staff, we give our thumbs up for trying.

the staff were friendly especially the restaurant staff.. the breakfast had ample variety of food to choose from..the chambermaid did an efficient job and maintain high standard of cleaniness.

the basement carpark is limited..there's other carpark option but need to walk a long way to reach hotel lobby.

Close proximity to shopping centre sand food outlets. There were eateries just outside and around the hotel
