Hotel Grand Continental Langkawi  

Well what can I say,we had never stayed in a Grand Continental Hotel before this trip,but in future we try and stay in one of there hotels where ever we travel. Everything about this hotel was first class,the staff were excellent and looked after everybody even though the hotel was fully booked for most of the time while we were there,due to the chinese new year. The rooms were cleaned every day,and were spotless,the breakfast was a mixture of malaysian and western food and every thing they served was excellent,there was something there for everyone. This one of these Hotels you dream of finding,and we would like to thank all of the staff for all the help they gave us,and we would have no hesitation in returning next year,hopefully for a longer vacation. Congratulations to the managment of this hotel for being able to motivate their team of employees to work so well for them,the teamwork they showed was unbeatable.And we would recommend that everybody should give it a try.

There was nothing we did not like about this hotel

They have a wonderful pool, so at 2:30 when it's too hot to do anything you can swim!! Breakfast was great all types of food is offered, the roti canai was wonderful The taxi station is only 1/2 block away, so it is easy to get around

When compared with prices, nothing was great about hotel.

1. At breakfast, we requested for drink milo which was not appearing in buffet, however, at many hotels, breakfast, hotel staff ask for order. We requested for it and we were provided milo, however, we were charged for this. At the time of order, we were not informed that this will be charged. Also, they made me sign a bill after breakfast for myr15.00 (Milo), which I thought was as a procedure and not actual payment. On second day, I was informed that if I ordered anything more than the display, I will be charged, so I did not order any thing more than the buffet. I think I should be refunded at least half of the myr15.00 Charges as I was not informed about the charge. 2. Pool is open only form 1000 hrs to 1900 hrs during which time, tourists are not likely to be in the room, so basically facility is useless.

The room need to be refurbished

Hotel need to upgrade the current facilities especially in the room.

Only decent thing I can say is that it's next to a supermarket and mall and a taxi rank.

This hotel is past it's sell by date. Seen better days in the 80'S. Rooms had cobwebs when we went it. Damp smelling. Old and rickety furniture. Grotty bathroom. Phone was broken which they didn't bother checking before us checking in. No air-con in the corridors. Really poor breakfast and poor variety. The tv didn't work and they couldn't fix the aerial despite 3 attempts. I would avoid and book another hotel unless you're really on a budget or backpacking.

Near city and cheap

Smelly room due to old carpet once we first enter the room. Staff not friendly enough.

Very good pricing for a 3 star in Langkawi, close to shopping complexes, pool is clean.

Buffet breakfast is ok.

Air-conditioner is very noisy. Can't control room temperature cause is center control. Room is old, need renovation. No hair dryer provided.

The hotel definitely lives up to its reputation, clean, good service and spacious room worth every cents of you money. Great !!!

there is shopping mall next to it..

everything, bad service, bad room, bad smell. noy comfort,... nothing good.
