Near Komtar which is easier for us who travel without car..Komtar have a bus terminal

Staff is not polite at all....they are speking without manner...the service is quite bad..when I request the wifi password through phone from the reception..the staff call me to get down to the lobby to take from him..i think is quite ridiculous..the toilet in the room looks dirty also...the water came out from the tap is yellowish..the bed is quite comfortable and the air con is still functioning well...and I pay 360+ for a double room..but the service here make me feel that it is not worth it...

late on check out. Not enough staff or what??? cannot due check in before 2pm eventhough just to do check in for confirmation. Due to this wasting time on check in at 2pm. While staying for work, late on check in reflect time for another meeting. Please do consider only for confirmation and polite to customer.

I found the Reception Staff 1 Lady very rude nosmile no welcome I arrived the day before and went to see if I could have a early check in the next day and rudley told no we are full But if I paid 60rg I could arrive 7am to 2pm (which I did) Buffet Breakfast dreadful did not go second day. Room Bathroom very old Hot water not hot old towels Air con not work properly 2 nights so very Hot I would NOT reccomend I also should get at least 50% discount

I will never stay this hotel either recommend to my friends. Worst hotel I ever stay. Worst than budget hotel. This is the customer services:- We were caught in jam and try to call hotel to inform. No one pick up. When we arrive 7plus, the staff incorm us the booking had been cancel. But in the booking slip, check in time was 2pm to 12am.. We show them the slip and the answer is nothing they can do. Booking already cancel. No rooms available . And they just walk inside . Not even offer for alternative solution. Not even apologies. After argue , call to booking.com to complain.. After 2 hrs then they say that there is room available .. Is so ridiculous .. I will never stay this hotel and I will tell all my friends about this also.... Disappointed

Very old hotel, not clean and staff missing in the night. Look like a haunted hotel.

Firstly, the counter staffs were not present at all times, we had to wait for several minutes to half an hour during 11.30-12.30pm upon our arrival. The staffs at the front desk did not know how to speak the national language of Bahasa Melayu, only in English. This would cause problem to local travelers who are not fluent in English. Secondly, we specifically requested for a non-smoking room, but was put in the 13th floor, which was a smoking floor. It was smelled of smoke and our stay was very unpleasant even during sleep. The aircond suddenly stopped working through the middle of the night. The bathroom was shocking- the bathroom door was not well maintained, the walls had cracks, the ceiling deck had holes and was loosely placed. Our main hotel room door had scratches and marks as if a previous break in was attempted. There were 3-5 lifts, but only 2 was functioning. Suffice to say, we felt our stay was not worth the amount we paid. we highly recommend for the hotel management to do some renovation. Otherwise, it would have been an affordable stay. The check out counter was quick in service, though.

Water from the tap were brown at the beginning of the stay. To get it rectify, had to call front desk many times to get someone to check on it. fungus growing on the carpet near the door.

I have been using Booking.com for several years during my travel to overseas or local. However, this booking at the Grand Continental Penang was a nightmare. I arrived at approximately 11 pm from Kuala Lumpur. Expecting to relax after a long journey, I was greeted by the hotel staff not a welcome but instead by saying that the hotel has air conditioning problem and refuse to accept guests for 2 days. At the end, we were recommended to another hotel which we felt was not of out liking. The hotel staff should at least call us to notify about the problem so that we can take necessary measure early. Just imagine how disappointed my family and I were during that wee hours. Instead of getting a good rest, we have to search for an alternative hotel for accommodation. It was quite difficult to look for hotel at a place where we were not familiar. We were thinking to save some money for our accommodation to book via booking.com instead we ended up spending more. VERY DISAPPOINTED.

Upon arrival we checked in and given a room that had not been cleaned The air conditioner was poor and under maintenance. Had to have a fan issued to help keep cool but no success with the fan The only thing good about the hotel was the shops being close to escape the heat in the room. Pool was being cleaned and closed in the hours it was ment to be opened. The breakfast was ok but the coffee was bad.

It's worth nothing.

We really regretted for stayed 1 night in Hotel GC, not me, but the entire family, from very begining when step in to hotel. It's really like enter into no manned world. That kind of uncomfardable feelling started from moment we drove into carpark located at 3rd floor. Imaging, only 2 staffs were seen in the entire lobby area and check-in counter !!! What make thing worse was when we step into our family suite, the entire room was filled with smelly, dusty and dampness air. We strongly believed that these room has not been occupied for years. TV, fridge, desk, wardrobe, bed, etc. are from last generation. End up we try not to stay in the room for any longer, except for sleep.

It is located in centre of town. Shopping complexes like Komtar, 1 Avenue are a walking distance away. Places to eat are easy to find.

There are few points that I would like to highlight for safety reasons : Hope they can revamp the basin [ cracked ] , bath tub [cracked ] and toilet bowl [ shaking and it can be moved ] for hygiene reasons : - towel [ stained ] - even the bread was covered with cloth , it still has a lot of flys flying around. - food is cold and not warm at all

Es war die Rezeption, eine junge Dame, schnell, sehr professionell, mit ausgezeichneten Englisch Kenntnissen, sehr entgegenkommend und hilfsbereit.

Die Einrichtung ist total heruntergekommen, löcher im Bettlaken, welches für das Bett auch noch viel zu kurz war, schimmliger Duschvorhang, ein Frühstück welches ich meinen Feinden nicht servieren würde, das restliche personal, sehr zurückhaltend, auf meinen Wunsch bitte ein Telefonat zu führen wurde einfach ohne jeglichen ersichtlichen Grund abgelehnt. Schrecklich in einer Kurzfassung, nie mehr wieder.

La vue depuis le 20e etage est interessante. La chambre est spacieuse et propre. La piscine au 23e a l'air bien, nous l'avons manqué car elle ferme à 19h.

On avait réservé une chambre double, nous avons fini dans une chambre avec lits séparés (triste pour un couple ). un seul ascenseur fonctionnait. Le wifi ne marchait pas très bien. La chambre n'isole pas du bruit de la chambre d'a côté (une porte fermée communique entre les deux) Le petit déjeuner nous a laissé sur notre faim.
