Holiday Inn Resort Penang  

We arrived for check in at 3pm. Called in to holiday inn Penang to notify arrival at 1.30pm. But we were still waiting for room check in at 5.30pm at the lobby. Time is precious, and if you want to kill time, please book into this hotel. Met with the general manager of the hotel, but she show no enthusiastic manner to us. Therefore, just think againof wasting time should you wish to book into this hotel. Ensure feringghi wing or beach wing when you book. It's misleading and you may end up walking far over a public pedestrian bridge to the main building where the swimming pool and beach are.

Location and service are good but rooms are a bit run-down.

Rooms are old and definitely need refurbishment.

The hotel was lovely and clean. The rooms are large. The staff were very helpful and friendly. We had to book in earlier as we had arrived from London and felt we hadn't slept for two days. The receptionist upgraded us up to a better room for free so that we could go to a room straight away. That will never be forgotten.

Since the hotel has been upgraded i couldn't find anything wrong with it.

The view was great from the rooms. There were great services/facilities that the guests could use. (Ex. Game room, ping pong table)

There were insufficient parking lots available for the guests staying in the beach wing.

Even though there was a little setback during check-in, the frontdesk staff was quick in resolving the glitch. It's a good service recovery as they offered me an upgraded sea view room + complimentary breakfast. Kudos to the 2 male frontdesk staff on duty at 5pm+ on Dec 16, 2011.

Probably the taste of buffet breakfast need to be more tastefully.

Luxury resort!!! Very comfort & good location! Strongly recommended. Very convenience to get food and shop around at the local night market by walking across the street. Staff was very warm, helpful and friendly. The resort also offered upgrade from hill view to sea view standard room (feringghi tower) for me. The room is excellent, newly refurbished. If you have own transport, delicious food are all around at reasonable price. Good place for sun bath! Foot reflexology & traditional massage are available.

Swimming pool is quite small ...

Hotel is in front of beach. You can enjoy sea view and sport. They have a small swimming pool.

I was expecting the hotel to be more attractive; however, I have the following comments: - Alleyways and rooms are a bit smilly. - Room A/C is not cold enough. - No varaiety of food for breakfast. food is very limited. In general, hotel does not deserve more than 3 stars.

I love the hospitality given by the staff. The room was very clean and comfortable. Location was perfect.

The staff has been very helpfull during our stay. When we checked in, due to a problem with my credit card, the staff could not receive authorization for the damage garanty. Because I had very litlle cash with me, they agreed to retry the next day to take the garanty om my credit card. Everything could be completed well when they tried again, and I did not have to withdraw cash in order to provide the garanty requested. I really appreciate attitude demostrated by the staff and the flexibility and understanding from the hotel management. Besides this, there is an easy access to the restaurant accross the road via a bridge connecting the 2 hotel buildings.

I stayed at the newly renovated hotel wing(across the road) and facing the sea. The view from the hotel room is fantastic..I lsyayed at the newly renovated hotel room with 1 kingsize bed and one queen size bed and a big plasma TV. At night there was night market nearby and very happening.Would love to stay there again.

Pool is quite small.

Location just opposite Batu Ferringhi Pasar Malam and the hotel itself.
