the location next to local market the tower had very bad smell and were humid and in each floor they kept a light with air freshener to cover the smell but it generate a very strong smell that gives you headache |

when i booked the map showed that it was on the sea side of the road. when i got there it was on the other side and had to cross the road. my room overlooked a slum not the ocean as expected. i could upgrade for 2x the price of the surrounding hotels on the seaside and would had a one charge if i left. when we returned late the car parks were all taken by ppl going to the night club down the road. seems the guards were taking bribes to let them in. we could not get a park anywhere. |

Luckily I have change the room to sea wing and the view from the room is very nice. The room was very comfortable. Easy access to the night market. Breakfast not really satisfied but okay. |

No comments The kid's corner is so expensive and not much of the entaining. Also, it should be open till 9pm so that the children have a place to enjoy in the evening. Not much activities there. The shallow pool that use for ball play is too dangerous for children who want to swim in the swallow end. |

I wish you have sauna and private beach. The guys whom handle water sports are anoying. We hardly enjoy swimming at beach as they always ask us to move to give rooms for water sport activities. The petrol smell from motorboat and jetski dampen the mood. thanks. |

The beach was nice. The rooms are quite big (especially the bathrooms). Nice green area close to the beach. We got twin room instead of double which we booked. We asked to put the beds together and the smelly sweaty men came and started making our bed, taking the pillows and everything without washing his hands. The girl on reception was very unfriendly. And checking-in took about 15 minutes. The part of the hotel we stayed at was across the busy road. There was the pass above the road but still it doesn`t feel like the beach resort. The chaise longues were broken and quite uncomfortable. Everything in the room seemed outdated. The safebox didn`t work. The guy who came to fix it tinkered it for 30 minutes and then told us that it was broken and it`s impossible to fix it. We waited for another 30 minutes until he brought and installed the new one. |

The web site implied we would have a balacony. I felt the range of channels on the tv was limited. Would have preferred to have the mini bar full before I arrived, without having to request this. Drinks/food appeared to be on the pricey side. The room was also lacking some basic tourist information about Penang, like maps and list of things to do. |

The receptionist, Aly, who welcomed us upon check-in and who also happened to check us out, was very friendly and helpful. Generally, the staff were polite. The concierge service did not prove to be very helpful when we wanted to find out where is and how to get to David Brown Restaurant. We read that it was located at Strawberry Hill from a website and when we indicated to the concierge that this was the location, they were quick to point out that it was amidst the Cameron Highlands without further verification. We believed that such information could be easily searched and retrieved from the internet if guests were to query. We were surprised that we did not manage to get help on this despite us reading about how the restaurant is famous in Penang. |
