I stayed there with my my family over 2010/11 New Year's Eve celebration, and had the most spectacular view of the fireworks display at the struck of midnight from the comforts of the hotel room (park view). If you are ever going to celebrate the eve's there, try room 2301, the display came up to at least 20th floor. Okay, back to the room. As I am a frequent traveler, I would rate mokl room as one of the better ones (hovering a- to an a). It was clean, neat and very comfortable and I could see that many information booklets were left there for newbies in kl. Of course, the service provided were warm and nearly personalized. Comparatively, mokl to me is better than mosg, Orchard Rd, though they are from the same chain of hotels. The rates were pretty steep but it was for NY's eve celebration, so I guess that was alright.

Best hotel we have stayed with in KL (among all 5 star ones)! First time there - decided to try it after having stayed at Marriott last time. This hotel kills others by sheer quality of all staff - remembers your names, polite, service, obliging, great location adjacent to KLCC, had late check outs every time (02 Sep to 4 Sep and again 09 Sep) at 2.30 pm at no extra cost. Paid extra (pore booked with Petronas Twin Towers view. Most hotels (5 star) tend to try to be too romantic and all have down lights - usually not bright enough for us - my wife & I are 58 and 60 yrs old - but when curtains are open daytime, very bright in the room! The only hotel we stayed at that could compare is the Hitlon Wanfujing in Beijing but even that hotel is too modern (black decor, etc). Not sure why most hotels want to hide everything! Also, because our flights both times took off at 9.30pm which means that you don't have to leave KL city until 6.30pm, Mandarin gave us free accesss to their beautiful 3rd floor for showers, spa, etc if you like. Again, top[ quality areas. Not sure if my wife and I would stay anywhere else in KL! been there numerous times! This time we actually also booked 4 lots of other guests (in total 12 adults - 2 toddlers) and we had come from one of the top hotels in Phuket. Everyone loved Mandarin, location and quality! NONE! Please do not change your prices!

Very nice hotel, very nice staff, good location and very good food in the Mandarin Grill restaurant. Nowadays Internet access is like hot water access: it should be included in the room price and even more in a 5* hotel!

The Club level service package... the professional staff. meeting all your needs and expectations with a smile. Mostly excellent, of course some small things not superb. I didn't like the quality of pillows! spa was average (perhaps as my expectation was high), view for the New Year fire works was fine, but not perfect.

The Mandarin Oriental is one of the best hotels in the world and it lives up to its reputation. I stayed on the club floor and the service and amenities were superb. The club lounge is ideal and serves delicious food and the staff were very helpful. The pool area is divine. I would stay there again.

The location. Right behind the Petronas Towers, adjacent to one of the biggest shopping centres and just a short walk away from the shopping hub Bukit Bintang The road from the hotel that leads to Bukit Bintang is not very safe for pedestrians. While walking back to the hotel late evening (11pm) we saw 2 bikers snatch a purse from a lady and later got to know that such incidents were common in that area.

Its great great location cannot be neglected. Practically next to klcc twin towers. The hotel itself is amazing. Wifi is not free inside rooms, however its not always a bad thing to pay for what you want.

Everything, as usual! I am a frequent guest at Mandarin Oriental hotels around the world and think they all are excellent. The kl branch is a bit outdated as far as decor is concerned but the staff makes up for it. The hotel should soon be refurbished.

The view and location were good and the room was large It was very shabby. The air conditioning did not work well and they were unable to repair it for us. The shower drain backed up, again, not sufficiently repaired. The sheets where never changed (I know this because they had marks on them like they had been run over by the wheels of a cart). One pair of the slippers they provided had clearly been used. There was a thick layer of dust inside the closet, on the lower shelf of the night table, and a few other places we wanted to put things. The carpet had tons of stains all over it, which made us feel we needed to wear shoes or slippers at all times. The bed was really uncomfortable and had a few layers of folded up sheets under the fitted sheet. Not sure if this was supposed to be for comfort or cleanliness, but it made the bed really lumpy. The mattress was really old and saggy. More like 3 star hotel than 5 star, and certainly not up to mo standards. Very disapointing.

“What an amazing hotel. We had a club room with city view and it was fantastic. Highly recommend the Satay sticks in the Skybar. The international breakfast was truly that, a fabulous selection. The extras in the room were great, even a sweet on the towel beside the bath! They thought of everything. The complemetary mini bus from Petronas towers was such a treat, saved walking in the heat. Highly recommend this hotel” Vanessa, Donaghadee |
