PARKROYAL Penang

My recent stay was made all the more pleasant when an employee at the restaurant immediately picked up and returned my wallet that had fallen off. Service level is just excellent. Had been staying at Holiday Inn for the past 4 years and this is the first at Park Royal and the difference is very obvious.

Pleasant, relaxed staff. Food choices and quality excellent. Pools and surrounds relaxing. Close to night markets

Handwash when entering the breakfast room should be on the stand where you are requested to wait not over in the corner where it is not seen

The standard garden room is rather small with small windows

beach, breakfast buffet, rooms, location, watersports, near night market, restaurants, travel agent... I guess everything

there is no rooms for handicaped people

I enjoyed the relaxed family ambience of an older but very comfortable hotel and the staff are always helpful .

Needs A/C in the lobby .

nice little touches like the cookies and being flexible with check out time on our leaving day. all in all a lovely hotel. Very nice outside area. The staff were very friendly and helpful and it is in a great location for the markets.

the early morning prayer call at 5.45 and 6.00 am which was really loud in our hillview room and woke up our baby every day.- I would have maybe chosen a seaview room if I was aware of it, I think It would not have been as loud from the beach side.

Clean rooms, good facilities, nice open spacious lobby, nice breakfast. Good hotel if you're planning to stay in Penang and come for a bach holiday with lots of things to do.

The hotel is very close to the beach and just in front of the beach there's a quad hiring piont. This can be a bit loudy if you want to have a after lunch nap in the hotel garden... :-). Also make sure that you've planned the duration of your stay carefully, we found it quitte challenging to adjust it when already checked in. Eventually succeeded without having to pay to much but it took some effort.

Friendly and helpful staff and I enjoyed your buffet breakfast very much. It's a place where you can really relax yourself. Peaceful and relaxing, it's an ideal place for your honeymoon and annivesaries.

The room was really nice, with pelnty of room.

The airconditioning in the room was not cold enough and the swimming pool was not big enough for all the guests.

Quiet and relaxing, there are some good restaurants (alot cheaper than hotel) a short walk along the beach from the hotel. We booked a suite for with 2 rooms, and found only bedding for parents - asked for beds, they said it was 120MYR/night (each) - but they only charged us for one bed in the end. So I was pretty impressed (as the room was advertised as 3 people + space for extra bed)

Very Pricey food & drink - about 3x more expensive than wandering down the beach to get a good meal. Sea is quite dangerous with jellyfishes (and not clear blue water), Ok for watersports, no good for swimming.
