Rebak Island Resort Langkawi - A Taj Hotel  

Litet hotell med trevlig personal och lugn miljö.Avslappnande miljö och tempo.Inget för de som vill ha kvällsliv. Mysigt att ta båten till "stan" men kanske obekvämt i längden. Rummen sköttes med daglig städning ,rikligt med frukt varannan dag.

Rummen sköttes med daglig städning men rejält underhåll saknades. Lever inte upp till den standard de anger. Glöm inte myggmedel! hela ön Langkawi illa skött som turistmål. Penang renare.

Th hotel setting is beautiful and the grounds are lovely with walking tracks and a private beach. The hotel's decor is pleasant and the rooms are well presented with lovely balconies. The staff are friendly and helpful.

At the end of our stay when the mini bar was checked the hotel staff member spent 10 mins looking at the level of each spirit bottle. This was offensive and felt was appropriate for a 5 star resort. In addition the hotel has limited choice of restaurants and the menus have very little variation from one venue to another. They have a cafe next to the marina which hotel guests are not permitted to use and is only for people staying on the boats at the marina. Again this did not seem right as the boat patrons are allowed full access to the hotel's facilities. These things did let the hotel down. If you fancy a stay here a couple of days should do it. We stayed for 5 nights which we did enjoy but we were most certainly bored of the food!

The ambience

The service part was very poor and the food was pathetic. Taj is known for delivering the best in both Vegetarian and non Veg both but the veg variety was missing. Whatever was available was insufficient.

I stayed 2 nights and then another 3, so I have sent compliments and thank you cards to the well deserving staff: Hillme, Elvie, Dillia, Mohsen etc all were lovely. Great time there! I think they could monopolize on the sailing industry there by buying a ship/captain and offer free evening and early morning sails to search for wildlife including sea otters. They have a great marina and dry dock there that they could also monopolize on by offering educational tours on sailing, what can happen in dry dock, the life of the transient sailors that stay with them and talks with hotel guests on what the area has to offer etc.

I think they could offer another shower by the pool and a reminder that all have ti shower including hair prior to going in the pool. Reminder that one cannot swim in street clothes at pool. One Indonesian hotel recptionist could be more friendly and accomadating all other staff were fab! It seems their monkey and cat popuoation has been culled? I really don't like that. Why not make monkeys and cats an asset can keep some that are nutered? Since it is an island you could controll the population and help guests enjoy them too.

The location and the design of the rooms and the place it self were beautiful plus I don't want to forget the people there were very helpful and friendly.

They need to do some activities for the the guests and they need to have more then one restaurants.

Likes: The rooms are spacious, clean and really well furnished, the bathrobes and slippers are nice, the balcony is good, it's less hot than in Cenang itself, the pool viewing the sea is great, our surprising upgrade to seaview was so perfect, but the best: wild Hornbills flying around in the garden and around the pool! The staff was really kind and helpfull - they even repaired our broken stroller, and offered to take a ride (buggies drive you around the resort) with our todler every time we went outside. The restaurant had great tastefull food, also western, like a good mozarella, and the breakfast was sooooo big and diverse. I couldn't stop eating ;-)

Dislikes: prices in the restaurant, babybeds are very unstable (our 20 month old daughter broke it down!), and most of all: i really missed a small affordable store, to buy stuff like diapers, cans to drink in you room, snacks, magazines, sunscreen and so on... And the voltage in the room was not high enough to charge my Iphone..... But, these complaints are minor to the likes ;-D

Beautiful landscape on an isolated island, not too crowded and well arranged infrastructure. A welcoming and helpful staff.

Very poor value for money and generally speaking the Rebak Island Resort didn't meat the required standards of a 5 star hotel. Food served in the restaurant was bad and excessively expensive.

The hotel's service is very good!

Can't say because all the good could not still make up for the bad they have done.

Please do not plan new year at this place. These people has a single plan to rob you of your hard earned money of your old year. I am not sure if it's booking.com's fault or the hotel's, but the hotel staff made us pay a compulsory 31st night dinner fee of 1100 ringet (~Usd 400). When we argued, they said its booking.com's fault as they have informed them of this before hand. After a lot of argument, we had to cough up the money and had to live stingily throught out our trip to compensate for the additional amount we were forced to pay that we haven't budgeted. To add to that, the gala Dinner was awful. Their regular buffet, at 85 ringets is much better by comparison. My advise please do not plan your new year here. I have never expected a taj hotel to stoop so low to make quick money.

Not much choices on the menu, only one restaurant available.

The attitude of the staff, every single one of them was amazing, friendly and very accommodating. The response of the maintenance personnell and care was also second to none. My wife and I come from Customer Service background and we were very impressed. The staff made the stay enjoyable and remarkable.

What we did not like wa the fact that there is only one restaurant. The food was nice but one restaurant and one Menu is very poor for such a facility. The Breakfast Buffet is not that great and Club Sandwiches were not convincing. The Pizzas were nice though.

Fairly secluded, romantic getaway. Exclusive look 'n feel as it is about 15mins boat ride away from mainland Langkawi.

Room service was not consistent in their service delivery (sometimes they would pick up the phone, other times they would not.. and delivery times were not always as quick as expected).

Отдельный островок с одним единственным отелем. Бесплатный трансфер до острова Лангкави, но возврат ограничивается в 19:45, что исключает вечерний ужин в ресторанах, а предлагает лишь в отеле, где цена очень высокая. Номер с видом на море просторный, чистый, но не новый, на вид как "старый бабушкин сервис" - деревянный, скрипучий, но при этом вполне комфортабельный. Пляж приятный песочный, отливы часто бывают, что мешает купаться, но это на всей островной части Лангкави. Если отойти от пляжа чуть дальше, то на камнях уже виден мусор, бутылки, которые почему-то не убирают. Территория островка не развита, нет пеших тропинок на дикие пляжи, пробираться через заросшие тропы желания не было. Рекомендую бронировать не более 2-3 дней тут, так как можно будет завыть от скуки. Если надо просто валяться на пляже и кушать в ресторане, не озадачиваясь экскурсиями и прочим - вполне подойдет.

Скрипучий старый номер, тянет на 4 звезды, не больше. Пляж в отдалении от отеля грязный, не убранный. Трансфер с Лангкави к отелю заканчивается слишком рано в 19:45, что не дает насладиться вечерним променадом в ресторанах вне отеля. При оплате списали сумму дважды, обещали вернуть в течении 2 недель, но уже пошла 3-я.
