I did not enjoy my stay at all. The staff is not courteous, the lift is not working, the reception is rude and not helpful, the toilet has problem, we were unable to flush on our second day, which was our check out day, resulting in us checking out much earlier. This was supposed to be a memorable stay for my aunt who has left malaysia for england 30 yrs ago. We will not return to Renaissance Melaka unless we are desperate.

The rooms are big and clean, the location is very close to the city centre, 10 mins walk and you will be able to reach the tourist spots like jonker walk, christ church etc Rooms were booked with breakfast included but the reception staff said the breakfast was not included and ask me to show proof. With the help of the lobby manager, I managed to print a copy of booking details and fix the issue. It is advisable to bring a printed booking conditions with you to prevent disputes...

The beddings n pillows were very comfy. Loved the sleepover. The worst thing happened. The toilet flush were not working from 2am till about 12pm. I called up receptionist n he was absolutely rude n told me to go to the 8th floor to use the toilet n hung up the phone. N after using the tub, the drained out water flooded the entire bathroom n I had to wait till it dried up to continue. The worst was the hairdryer was not working n I only got it after making my 2nd call to housekeeping after 1 hour plus. All this should not come from a international hotel like Renaissance.

Good size pool. There was nothing particularly wrong with the place, but overall the hotel is somewhat dilapidated and getting tatty from its glory days. It is not particularly good value for money if you are just using the hotel to sleep... it would seem that some of the other newer places springing up around would be more worthwhile. The change room facilities at the swimming pool were terrible... nowhere to change apart from two very poky shower cubicles which was awful when they were wet. The toilet in there was dirty. There are not enough shaded areas to sit/lie around the pool.

The check-in reception helpful in trying to look for a room for a slightly early check-in at 1.30pm. 2 things we didnt like about the hotel: 1) Check-in reception informed us that they only had twin bed room on non-smoking floor or double bed on smoking floor. We arrived early and we were willing to wait until later for our requested room (double bed on non-smoking floor) but was told there was none even if we waited. We were disappointed that the hotel did not provide for our request although we received email confirmation earlier. Only after conveying our disappointment clearlydid they look hard enough and found us a room to as per our requirement, which we was prepared for us after 1.5 hours wait. 2) The room on the non-smoking floor had a bathroom that reeked of cigarette smell! We had to ask TWICE that our room be sprayed with air freshener and shower curtain to be changed. Shower curtain didnt smell like it was changed, but we did smell some air freshener...didnt help at all though. Disappointing that the hotel didnt make sure non-smoking rooms remain non-smoking!

The food (breakfast) exspecially the Indian Food Idli, Tosai, Putu Mayam was so soft, hot and nice. (Made by Chef Vijaya) Clean and nice. Reception Staff need to be more expert where, when the customer comes to register to check in they need to explain to customer the time of breakfast and where is it? When I check-in they just give me the card and told me that I can have the Welcome drink at the Zest, but when I went they told me I need to have a voucher where the reception staff did not give me and we have to go and get it again it looks so emb..............

Its buffet breakfast. Wide variety that caters to every palate. The best is the inidian food items which were delicious. The chefs and servers were friendly and obliging. Good service. The toilet. There is no water tap near the toilet bowl for washing up. Dont remember the hotel to be lacking in that area the last time we visited. As such we would looking for another hotel for the next melaka vacation, unfortunately. Too bad as the food was fantastic! Also we indicated in our special needs section in the form that we wanted connecting rooms. They didnt reserve the rooms as requested because they said i had booked the two rooms under 2 different names, which is unfair as we were not told about it earlier. The next morning, all rooms near us were given complimentary newspapers placed outside their doors. Our two rooms were not given any. Not sure why but we did not bother to check on this matter.

Near enough to attractions to walk to and reasonably priced for calibre of hotel Some of the breakfast items were not replaced after 9.45 even though breakfast was served until 10.30 so you had to repeatedly ask and sometimes told they were not going to replace them. Since Marriot have taken them over I think the standard has gone down.

The hotel lobby is big and was well decorated. Checking in was a breeze. Staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms are spacious and clean.Beds were V.comfortable and we had a gd sleep. Overall a pleasant stay. Road entrance to hotel is dissappointing.Should be repaired and cleaned . front open-air car park can be made more presentable. Charging hotel guests a fee ( though a small amt.) for covered carpark is unreasonable. Checking of the fridge (to note what stuff has been used )by hotel staff, should not be done at 9.30 in the morning when hotel guests have not checked out yet.It shd be done only when guests are checking out.

The service is efficient, except for check in. We weren't able to check in even at the stipulated time of 3pm because the room were not ready! Were told room can only be ready at 430pm, by which time my toddler had dozed off unbathed and dirty.
