Renaissance Melaka Hotel  

The service staff at the restaurant where we had breakfast were very courteous and provided an exceptional level of service.

A few things unfortunately: 1. I was assigned a room but was disturbed immediately upon check in (about 2 pm on Friday 11 may Room No: 1820) by drilling and other works being conducted in the room next to us or above us. I complained twice. On the second occasion the front desk told me that she would have the manager call me but that did not happen. I left my room shortly after the second complaint so I dont know when the drillng stopped. 2 issues here: 1. If you tell the guest that the manager would call back, please make sure that actually happens - I hate hotel staff making empty promises. 2. Please dont sell rooms that you know are going to be affected by building works - and you surely must know that. 2. The room I had was spacious but it badly needs a upgrade - carpets and tiles in the bathroom were old/ and parts of it stained - the hot water took ages to come on etc 3. This is the only hotel that I know of that a guest is charged a car park fee

1. The check-in time can be shortened and improved further 2. Parking area can install more lights for security 3. Location is not very ideal

Need to upgrade on service level. Book for Club room. Needs to queue to check in at 3pm. Ask for room service staff to open up the door for the joint room since check in at 3pm. It did not happen even until when I'm back at 12am.

It was a scorching day and while checking in, we were served chilled mango juice - that was thoughtful. We have received excellent services by staffs at the Navigator Counter. They are extremely friendly and helpful.

Speed up the check in.

The room is very large and not dark, the view is nice and there is a big size sofa, a writing desk, the bed is comfortable. The air-con is cool enough and silent. Lcd tv is good. The bathroom is large and nice. Breakfast has a lot of variety, taste of the food is also good. The staff is polite and helpful, the receptionists were very helpful and warm. Hotel is generally very good.

The rooms are a bit old, the price of the room is a bit expensive. Rooms could have more modern design and furniture or could be a bit cheaper.

the location is great, though it is not as close to Jonkers Street as I have expected.

The food (breakfast) exspecially the Indian Food Idli, Tosai, Putu Mayam was so soft, hot and nice. (Made by Chef Vijaya) Clean and nice.

Reception Staff need to be more expert where, when the customer comes to register to check in they need to explain to customer the time of breakfast and where is it? When I check-in they just give me the card and told me that I can have the Welcome drink at the Zest, but when I went they told me I need to have a voucher where the reception staff did not give me and we have to go and get it again it looks so emb..............

Its buffet breakfast. Wide variety that caters to every palate. The best is the inidian food items which were delicious. The chefs and servers were friendly and obliging. Good service.

The toilet. There is no water tap near the toilet bowl for washing up. Dont remember the hotel to be lacking in that area the last time we visited. As such we would looking for another hotel for the next melaka vacation, unfortunately. Too bad as the food was fantastic! Also we indicated in our special needs section in the form that we wanted connecting rooms. They didnt reserve the rooms as requested because they said i had booked the two rooms under 2 different names, which is unfair as we were not told about it earlier. The next morning, all rooms near us were given complimentary newspapers placed outside their doors. Our two rooms were not given any. Not sure why but we did not bother to check on this matter.

It is close to the main attractions

Near enough to attractions to walk to and reasonably priced for calibre of hotel

Some of the breakfast items were not replaced after 9.45 even though breakfast was served until 10.30 so you had to repeatedly ask and sometimes told they were not going to replace them. Since Marriot have taken them over I think the standard has gone down.
