Rider's Lodge is serene and perfect for getting away from the hustle and bustle of city life. It'll be a good place to try for a baby! It was nice to be able to recharge there over the weekend. The lodge was built from scratch brick to brick by the owners. The trees individually chosen and planted. The horses in their stable are mainly retired race / competition / show horses. Some of them are injured, and can no longer be ridden on. However, the kind owners will be taking care of them for as long as it lives. The riding instructors teach well and are friendly. The owner Agnes is friendly and warm. The food is quite expensive. Lacked a kettle for boiling water. Tap in my room and my friend's room was choked and the technician couldn't do anything about it. Many flies due to the palm tree plantation surrounding the lodge. Quite a premium price for a normal hotel (most of this money goes to upkeep the horses) They could try to beautify the garden. Small pool.

The only good part of Riders Lodge was the Pony Club for the children. The hotel was very very run down and the rooms were dirty and uncomfortable. The sheets had burn marks and dirt stained on them. The towels were thin, dirty, old and worn. I had to wear flip flops in the shower, for fear of contacting a fungal disease from the un-hygenic conditions. I would not allow my children to use the shower and instead had to pay a fee to use the neighboring shower at the Legends Golf course down the road. The room was worse than a two star. The food was fairly ordinary and the cook was very rude and inflexible. I would never stay at this place again. We felt overcharged for an ordinary one star tired and run down "lodge". The staff were fairly incompetent. I am still waiting for extra towels and I left the place yesterday. The follow through is terrible. It took more than 6 phone calls to the lodge to get driving directions sent to me via email and I am still waiting for them to arrive. Generally a very very poor experience. Probably the worst place that I have ever stayed with my family.
