Simple and comfortable

The location was good with plenty of cafes nearby. The hotel opened in April 2011, so still in good condition. Ipads available for customer's use.

Bed mattress and pillows much too firm for our old bones. Bathroom lighting very poor, making it difficult to shave or apply makeup. Black is not a good colour for a small space.

The staffs are quite friendly and helpful. Items like hair dryer and bottles of water are available upon request. Quite safe as the entrance to the hotel are locked after 12am.

No lift, so not so recommended for elderly. The lights in bathroom is kind of dark.

Relatively quiet at night. Room is simple but clean with everything within easy reach.

Staff serving breakfast were not very communicative. Wireless LAN signal in the room was unstable though it was good in the lobby. Lighting in the bathroom is rather dim. Had a strange experience of very low water pressure early in the morning and hence couldn't shower before check-out.

Staff excellent and the rooms while quite minimalist were very clean and comfortable, the bathrooms were very swish for the price bracket, will stay again next year.

It's a new hotel and its surrounded by quite a number of cafes.The room is spacious and clean and the bed is comfortable.

Couldnt sleep. Room 311 is not soundproof and the building works opposite was constant throughoutthe night. Asked for another room at 3.40am.

It's a bit expensive. The management should consider room rate reduction

Room layouts are well thought and decent breakfast were provided. Good internet connectivity

The location was great. Lots of restaurants nearby and easy access to major freeways.

Room had no window so at some point on the first night I had to open the door.

Design and concepts

Staff are not locals but foreign workers who are not familiar with pointing out directions to the hotel. Outside signage did not specifically mentioned Ryokan Chic Hotel thus taxi drivers not familiar with the area are not able to find it. Breakfast is only dim sum (small meat dumplings) and sandwich with jam or butter, for the price we are paying a little extra would help, like bulls eye.

I like the cleanliness and the design of my room. Overall, the room is tidy and comfortable for me stay in.

Something which I do not like about this hotel is that it is not very accessible after midnight. The main gate can only be opened by the staff who are manning on the second floor after you press the bell. I would recommend them to enable/install a card reader which is able to recognize the room card that the customer is holding onto it. Therefore, customer is able to exit/entry at ease during silent hour.
