Room: We booked this hotel for 4nights for 2 adult+13y child. (Which was fine while booking) We were expecting extra bed for our daughter. On our arrival we got room clearly for 2 only (there was no inch to fit any extra bed). From what we understood no any other room is available. We were force to point to stuck sink(with hairs). No one checked balcony and ashtray stayed untouched for all days . Staff: Beyond office hours (when normally you are away) hotel staff do not speak English. (if you are lucky with the shift you can get very limited advice). The staff said us to take the bus 10min. raid to the nearest beach, although you can pass Rainbow Paradise via ground level (don’t be shy) and get PUBLIC beach. As we were told most beaches in Penang are public (even surrounded by hotel) and it works with no problem. Breakfast: (quite slow) No other options than: Juice+scrambled eggs+ chicken sausages+toast w butter+coffee/tea (No fruits/flakes/milk/yogurt)
The location was not the most central but good anyway. Bus stop right outside the hotel that took us to city center, the beach and butterfly park. Very comfy beds and pollows. Good wifi.
The bed was nice. The A/C was nice.
The breakfast is not good enough. Did not have water heater inside the room. Have mosquito inside the room.
Owner and staff are very friendly and happy to help with anything you need.
Wifi was intermittent.
my friends and me like the place so much that we decided to come again. A great place for family vacation!
friendly owner, staff and their dog as well. clean, soft and white towel as well as bath robe are provided in each room. surrounded by a number of nice restaurants and cafe only across the road.
if you want to visit george town or gurney drive, this place is not that convenient cos you have to rely on either taxi or bus. I would suggest like what we did was spent your first part of journey in george town, the latter part in this homestay
Simply perfect. Traditional antique Asian furniture in the room and around the pool/lobby made this place a truly unique experience while in Malaysia. It is conveniently located in Tanjung Bungah which is between Batu Ferringi and Georgetown (10 minute drive to either), while it's a 5-10 minute walk to Tanjung Bungah public beach. The rooms and public areas are squeaky clean. You are provided with high quality cotton towels, bathrobes and slippers, as well as free toiletries... just like a 5 star hotel. The wi-fi was excellent. The pool was perfect, and make sure to spend some time on the sun beds on the upper deck, which is designed like a Buddhist temple with burning incense and candles giving it a zen atmosphere. The lobby has a massage chair as well as a free selection of tea and coffee, and unlimited mineral water. Overall it was a unique experience with good value for money.
The owner could be a bit more friendly, and the staff don't speak English (which is strange considering it's a hotel), so if you want advice about Penang better rely on google :) but they were still very kind. Breakfast was average.
Everything is good.
You should not let the dog be wandering around the compound - not all guests like dogs especially muslims.
Center location of major tourist destination
Owner has a dog and allows to access to all place including dinning place
Dog around the swimming poll
Near to town.quite place
Not comfortable for muslim.owner let his dog around the hotel area.wont recommend to friend
The service as not many of them spoke good English
I like the environment especially the room that I staying..
Have a dog because I'm a muslim.
The environment was good and cozy
As a muslim I am not comfortable when I saw they have a dog. Therefore, me and my husband decided not to take the complimentary breakfast. The mattress was hard which make us uncomfortable and there were either bed bugs or ants on the beds where I got bitten by its.
Room not as expected worth the paid money.
Clean but room facilities is normal.
breakfast too simple.
The room was small but clean and the owner had made sure that a number of useful items were available for travelers. Very good access to public transport as well as a number of good eating places within walking distance.
There was little variety to what was available for breakfast.
The staff was very helpful and gave us lots of good recommendations for places to visit and many food tips. The pool at the front of the residence is pretty and agreable, a nice chill out place for the end of day. The rooms are all furnished with unique antique pieces that the own has chosen from his own collection. There is a bus stop right in front of the residence which was very convenient. Tesco's only 2 bus stops away and it runs until the Jetty. There are a lot of good seafood restaurants nearby. The beach is only 5min walking distance.
Trafic noise from the main street can be heard from rooms facing that side during rush hours. The stairs leading to the first floor room can be tricky for children as the banister railling are a bit more widely spread than usual.
- very nice traditional house, very well kept and with nice pool and garden - we had a very nice balcony - bus stop in front of the house - good restaurants nearby
- only drawback is the main road in front of the hotel (noise) - for some guests it might be too far off Batu Ferringhi, but we liked it like that
Very hard to fault. We are experienced travellers and were delighted with our stay here. It ticks all the boxes and is a convenient distance from Georgetown and Batu Ferringhi, with bus stops right outside either direction.
There is a bit of road noise while we were around the swimming pool... hardly an issue though.
Reccomend, very clean and cosy hotell, rooms maybe a little bit small, bud clean and nice! Excellent staff:)
very convenience, nearby batu ferringi.
room bed is not comfortable, and very noisy because it is just beside the main road. Not worth with RM400++ per night, it should be cost about RM280-RM350 only.
Atmosphere of the hotel Friendly staff
Hard bed Moth balls in closet.
the staff is very friendly and helpful. the location is great. being in between Georgetown and Batu Feringgi Beach gives you options to go both directions. We had a car and could park it on the property, great! The brother of the manager is a antique-trader and has provided some nice Asian-authentic furniture which gives the place a perfect touch.
It is true that as the hotel is directly located at the main street for some people it could seem a bit too noisy. But for, if I may so, "Asian standard" it is very tolerable.
