Resort under renovation No wifi No telephone net No electricity between 6am to 6 pm Restaurant menu very poor Serve expired sauce (ketchup) Any of this is acceptable even in low season
The sea view suite is amazing.
A lot of steps, not convenient for the elderly people.
the beach was awesome the atmosphere the surrounding just so what i need for my vacation
resortt sorroundingg was veryyy green, full off tree..so peaceful
deluxe room is a bit small for my family (2kids + 2 adult)..maybe nx time i should tryyy a suite
totally great! excellent breakfast excellent room excellent position
in our room tv doesn't work
Excellent rooms and friendly and helpful staff. We've enjoyed our stay there. Compared to the other resorts in the island, Shari-la is definitely the best one with reasonable price and excellent hospitality service. I simply liked everything about the resort and I didn't find anything to complain about. You should definitely choose it.
If you are looking for a hotel in perhantian kecil. It seems shari la is the best ovrer there.
Location was good, nice little cottages.
The restaurant wasn't very clean. Really dirty table linnen (every day), and when we wanted to eat, we had to search for someone to help us.
Excellent staff very helpful. Superb food. Definitely worth paying extra for such quality.
A lounger by my room would've been nice.
Location was beautiful and there was nice secluded hotel beach. The diving center connected to the hotel was very good. Outdoor area was nice and clean.
The rooms were not very small and cleaning was insufficient and had to be ordered. A request for repairing the light in the room was not fulfilled before several reminders. The tablecloths in the restaurant were not changed for days, so you could detect the menu two days before by looking at the dirty tablecloths. The staff was very friendly but seemed to be tired.
The breakfast was great and unespectedly included. Romantic beach is almost private and great, you can make great snorkeling and stay chill in paradise. They have food and drinks service in the beach. The cabins were nice, almost like a little home.
The toilet door was unconfortable and got broken. They spent 2 days in fixing it. They don't clean the room if you don't ask for it.
Shankar, the man in charge at the reception saved our stay there. He was nice and managed to find us another room when we had the rats problem.
We had à terrible first night with very noisy rats that were sharing the room with us. We were able to change for the other nights but still everything else was very badly maintained. Bathroom dirty, fan out of use, air con super noisy, breakfast really bad... And the comon spaces seemed globally abandonned.
the beaches within the vicinity of the resort
We stayed at Shari la with young kids, 7 and 9. We loved everything about it. The staff were wonderful, the place spotless and the beaches were picture postcard. The suites were perfect for us. We stayed for 2 weeks anb loved every minute.
Was a nice change to have hot water in the shower as many resorts do not offer this. Breakfast was included in the price and was really good.
The water went out while my friend was having a shower and it took an hr for the staff to get it running again. There was no telephone line, we had to get someone in to fix that. A lot of mosquitoes in the area. I think for Perhentian its best to save some money and stay in a cheaper resort as Shah ri La was not value for money.
It's clearly the best option on the Coral Bay part of the island - if not on the whole island. When the evening storm hits, this is the place with the best walls and roof.
The staff is happy to tell you how to reach the Long Beach walking the track nearby, but for some strange reason they don't tell you not to walk it alone in the dark. You might be robbed. It's dangerous! They really should tell you this but they don't seem to care. It's not their business... This is neglecting the safety of their guests but very typical Malesian customer service attitude, so it's not really something about this hotel's staff particularly.
quiet environment and 24hrs electricity
friendly and helpfull staff, cosy cottage, clean and idyllic private beach with good snorkelling opportunity also for children
Good location on the island.
Rooms are a little too dark and bed covers looked stained.
To be honest there's nothing good to say about this place. What you get isn't value for money.
1. There was some broken parts in the bathroom 2. Electricity is off for 1 hour during the afternoon. Around 12.30-13.30 3. Aircon was not cold 4. Nothing special for the breakfast 5. No deposit box 6. No complimentary drinks in the room. 7. When we asked to make up our room, we left the keys at the reception. When we arrived around 12pm the reception was closed and no one was there. After waiting for 1 hour by luck a staff passed by and help us get the keys. If that didn't happen we probably will just wait until morning for the receptionist to open. First of all a hotel that is not working 24h is already absurd but it's better if they remind us that they close early so we won't leave our keys there. Well the point is it's really difficult to find find a good hotel in perhentian island. It's either extremely cheap chalets for 40RM but don't expect too much for the condition. Or just over priced hotels that is not worth.
Nice location. Great sunset from the small hidden beach behind the reception building.
Rooms need maintenance desperately. Broken forniture. Dirty room and bathroom with several hairs, not just dust and sand. Very old and overused blanket (disgusting). Uncomfortable spring mattress. Towels with stains. Not possible to regulate the air con, it was far too cold so we could not use it at all. Staff not smiley or friendly. Average/poor food quality and one tea bag used for 1.5 litre teapot at breakfast. Disappointing BBQ for dinner. Same kind of comment about food from a Malaysian couple we met there. Not worth at all the 212 RM we paid for the standard room. The following night we got a clean, with sea view and with a comfy bed room (no air con, but we could not use the one at Shari-la anyway) for 130 RM at a different resort.
we liked the restaurant with an awesome view. breakfast was good, quite a lot of choice and fruits. we loved the dinner buffet menu, where you could eat for 20/25 RM per person.and live music during the dinner was really nice. stuff was nice, smiling a lot and polite. room was also clean and spacious.
we didn't like the location of our chalet. they are building some new houses and we had our chalet in the middle of this grey buildings. it was a pity, because I think that they still had some free chalets somewhere else and we could had much nicer view.
Staffs, Services, Private Romantic Beach, Walking distance to Long Beach. Sunset.
Friendly staff, full facilities, clean room, comfort atmosphere, good location. the resort has its own beach, called romantic beach, although the sands are not fine. The buffet breakfast is rich; the various drinks are free all day long. We spent a great time there.
