Room 323 - the carpet was not clean and worn out including the iron was dirty cannot be used. Should provide slipper and remove the black thing that stuck on the iron.

Nice cosy room, facing the sea.

Difficult to find parking space for cars.

The room was nice and clean, functional and bright. The staff of the hotel was very friendly and helpfull and available for all info and organization.

The breakfast was really below average!! The rice and mee platters were likely made several days before, the fruit was covered with small insects... And the staff of the breakfast buffet, contrary to the reception staff, was unfriendly and totally uncaring of the guests!! They ignored us completely moving tables, changing naps and making noise...

Friendly staff. Nice views over the sea (for the sea view rooms!) but no balcony. Not very spacious rooms but adequate for a few nights stay. Beds a bit to firm for our liking but that appears to be normal for Asia (perhaps not in the so-called 5* hotels but who knows! ;-) Definitely no complaints - just honest description

Restaurant needs improvement in both menu and quality.

It's really waterfront!

Checked into two adjacent interconnecting rooms. The connecting door in one of the rooms is not controllable. Perhaps the hotel could have better maintained the facilities.

Its location which can acess to many shops ,mall and food stall as well the beautiful waterfront.

This was a gem of a find at the price. It is definately worth getting a room with a sea view as the hotel is right on the harbour waterfront.I was very pleased with the overall comfort and location of the hotel and would stay here again without any hesitation.

Grubby and dirty

Location is perfect: at 10 metres from the sea (bay), so take the seaview rooms for a few ringgit more. Lots of shops, market and supermarket closeby. Friendly staff. The best, nicest terrace and dinner of the esplanade.

Very loud (elevator)music (Green green grass of home, Old lang syne etc) is played at the outside diningroom/terrace - starting at breakfasttime (06.30 hr) and most of the time not stopping untill 11 at night. At night also lots of youngsters are hanging around the esplanade (allthough they are not allowed to sit in front of the hotel) singing and laughing (not in a bad way). So if you have a seaview room, please note that it's not al peace and quiet, bring your earpluggs. Rooms very small, no place to put away your belongings, only one chair for two persons.

The room was comfortable, the location is right in the centre of Sandakan, though there is little to do there. Directly opposite is a good tour office to organise trips to the jungle. There are computers with printers, though they charge 10RMB per hour for this. They do have free Wifi, though it is not reliable. The reception staff are very friendly and efficient. The beds are comfortable. Tea and coffee making facilities in the room and a fridge.

The Wifi is not reliable. Housekeeping is patchy, toilet rolls not replenished without having to ask etc. The room was basically clean but the carpets and bed linen need a deep clean. Breakfast is a basic buffet, but you can ask for freshly cooked fried eggs. Drinks and food are overpriced, walk down to the numerous harbourside cafes for a better deal.

Its next to the seaside, that's a big plus. Although my room was not facing the sea, I can just go outside and enjoy the sea breeze and on the other side, (my room facing that way) there are watsons & guardians (pharmacy) just a few doors from the hotel entrance. Out of all hotels, this is the most special during breakfast because the tables are just next to the sea. While they're free and not too grande for someone picky, the panorama and the slow wind can melt any heart. For its price, its too good to be true :)

I actually made a reservation for "seaside view" but I got the "city view" instead but its not a big deal for me. At the reception, I suggest you mention this if you made a reservation for that earlier on.
